Are the golf r’s exactly the same for fitment?

I believe they can go slightly wider since they have a different fuel filler neck that allows more space in the rear wheel well.
I’d check out apex wheels because they have a great write up of the beside sizes (and tire sizes) to run.

Golf R here. Can confirm wider is true. 8.5” on mine currently. Mk7.5r
