Hassan is one hundred percent right on Habs. I disagree with Aamna that it's only because of Basit's past that he is suspicious. Basit gave them both multiple attempts to share what the problem is. They still didn't. In fact, he didn't mind them eating together goes to show that Basit is not unreasonable or inclined to be suspicious because of his past trauma.

Showing Shamsher as an angel is even more dangerous than showing him as toxic. Red flags that should make girls run away from a man, are being turned into signs of true love. Writer is trying to show that love can change a negative person. No one changes in reality, and it is nonsensical to show that in a drama even.

    • @teadrinker1260

All my feelings abt the all the shows I’ve been seen for the past year:
Badshah Begum: Changed what they’re supposed to do, story was ruined and dragged.
Mere Humsafar: Dragged. Shahjahan shouldn’t be redeemed in one episode. She should’ve died.
Chauraha: Normalizing something as serious as kidnapping and marrying the kidnapper. I wrote a comment under that show. And people were schooling me saying “You’re not god. Forgiveness is what Islam teaches, and she should marry Junaid” Astagfirullah. The writers used Allah, Maafi, Dargah to blackmail people into showing Junaids a good guy. A good way to redeem Junaid would be that he asks for forgiveness and DOESNT fall in love with Zoya. Why is a love story always needed? He could’ve gave her izzat as a brother. (Similar dialogue in Bakhtawar)
Wahem: Typical story tryna make it mysterious
Bakhtawar: The story is going ok for now. Butttttttttttt I fear it’ll get ruined.
Habs: Story started off well. I understand that Basit is shown to have a past of not trusting women, which is why they want to incorporate that into that story. But they could’ve done it differently without making Ayesha so stupid?
KTK: Glorifying toxic men is only ruining the Awam. Read the comments under that show. Girls are crushing over Shamsheru Baby. Young boys are making TikToks on shamshers swag. Girls are writing memes on Instagram saying “Mehek is overreacting now. She should accepts such a good guy.”
    Astagfirullah.

I don't even wanna talk abt BB and Chauraha. Bakhtawar is going very slow, they need to make the story better already. Fraud was heavily dragged I lost interest. Ughhhh I haven't seen a good show in a long time. The last ones were Ehd E Wafa and Alif. Maybe because Both weren't dragged. I enjoyed Yeh Dil Mera but that was also dragged a lil towards the ends

I agree with Hassan, there are certain points that are beyond my intellect too, in Hubs
    1. Why isn’t Ayesha or anyone telling the truth, even when Basit is about to divorce her?
    2. What was the need for Ayesha to meet Fahad, in his car, to discuss strategies, specially when she wanted Basit to trust her without any explanation. And the careless girl leaves her mobile in his car, and it rings only when Basit is in the car. Before that neither Fahad finds it, nor Ayesha feels it’s absence. 😀
    3. Why does Bano say to Fahad that he came between husband , wife, when it was her sister who put Fahad in a tight spot, by lying?
    4. How does Ayesha’s family intend to conceal Zoya’s marriage from Basit and others? Why can’t they can arrange a small function for Zoya’s official marriage announcement.
Oh, I forgot, they were waiting for Basit’s accident, to make them come together.😂🤦‍♀️

Danish Taimoor has done numerous dramas in the past that were also popular, but I think the level of his popularity now is what’s driving directors and writers to cast him as a toxic hero. He did a kashif nisar drama back in the day and he did an amazing performance in sannata opposite sajal and Saba. He did marvellously in ru baru ishq Hai with ushna shah and even better in ab Dekh khuda kya karta Hai. It’s the level of popularity that he gained from Deewangi that is type casting him in dramas like ishq Hai and now ktk. He has potential and he’s proven it

@@rabianaseer5087 Don’t get me wrong, I’m not an advocate for the roles he’s doing now, but all of the dramas I just listed and many many more had him as a lead or supporting lead role. He’s been in the industry for a long time and has proven his acting prowess in a lot of different roles. It’s a shame that Deewangi was so successful that he’s now doing these characters. I remember seeing him opposite sanam baloch in mannchalay and chaudhvin ka chand (both hard to find online) a long time ago and loved his characters in both. He even did mera rab waris opposite madiha imam which was very popular a few years ago (before Deewangi) and as I mentioned earlier, ab dekh khuda kya karta Hai (he played a villain unlike a toxic hero) was extremely popular as well. So I disagree that he wasn’t prominent before Deewangi, but it definitely overshadowed his previous (better) roles because of how crazy popular it became. The same can be said about feroze. Some people will only know him as mir hadi from Khaani and won’t be able to see his softer characters like habs because it’s simply less popular.

Tinkay Ka Sahara- Sami Ji is my mother's favourite. She has dementia so anything that gives her happiness works for me. Consequently, I have watched a lot of Sami Ji's dramas so have developed an understanding of the syntax that informs his craft. He doesn't overact!!!! Like never! (I'm not counting the horrific Kaaf Kangana- That was Khalil and the less said about that the better) But Sami Ji is a director's actor. I think I've seen enough to know that whatever we are seeing, is what we are meant to see. I found the Maj scene very funny because I really thought Vassey had killed a person and when it was a Maj .... coupled with Vassey's obvious distress.... woh bohot pareshaan tha 🤣🤣🤣 So, he is not a psychopath as they are unable to feel remorse or regret. We are already being told through this scene that Vassey is not a monster. Incidentally, I read somewhere that Imran Ashraf Ji was cast in the role of Vassey first, is that true??? If so, that's interesting too....
Vassey isn't a person with a short fuse (ghusay wala) no, no Vassey is ALWAYS angry, always cooking and then the slightest thing sends him into a blind rage, literally shaking with anger. It feels out of context, and incongruous with the tone of the piece, with the oh-so-reasonable other characters. The contrast is stunning with Vassey. It is he that is out of place, out of sync with everyone and everything. The sister character is Vassey's enabler. The saviour to his screw-up. The whole mungni scene is orchestrated by her. She knows Vassey, knows he doesn't want to be there so why insist on him putting the ring on himself??? It is normal in the middle class that the sister/mother puts the ring on the woman anyway??? It was to show the new in-laws and wife what a terrible screw-up he is. We also see the sister in the teaser for the next episode saying 'susraal walon ko dabba ker rekna hota hai' to a man with anger issues!!!
Anger/anxiety/depression/remorse is the cycle we should be seeing and then the process of therapy and healing (if we do, Sami Ji is fantastic for the role), not some women's subber/sacrifice story. I don't think that Durriya is the kind of woman who will want to suffer and save anyway, she already wants out on day 2 and I don't blame her. I really don't like Durriya's father. His daughter made a poor decision, if she wants out, he should support her. I do hope Vassey gives him a slap too!!!

I feel the blame goes to the director. Khizar Idrees is/was originally a cinematographer/DOP. He does this job brilliantly without any doubt. One can not ignore the aesthetical value of various shots even in Badshah Begum. However, as a sole director, as yet, he is not capable of handling a big project. He can do short films and music videos, but clearly, he can't deal with a drama serial with a big cast at this point. I felt this in Lapata and I'm feeling this in Badshah Begum. I feel he should work as an assistant director under the supervision of some expert director like Kashif Nisar for a few years to learn the craft and then venture into a standalone project as a director. I do believe if Badshah Begum was directed by Kashif Nisar and Khizar Idrees had only worked as a DOP then it would be a masterpiece.

Your point of view on KTKG is appreciated, I don't know why you were so lenient during on the spot about it. Still if you compare this piece of nonsense with Khani or Deewangi, khani was not an ideal drama and deewangi was rather stupid but atleast the female leads were strong women who knew what they wanted in life, and the villians were never shown in golden light towards the end, they were punished. What we are doing is that after Khani where we made audience feel slightly bad for villian in the end, we are now totally turning our villians to heroes and the stupid heroines are okay with living with them. Consequently girls fantasize about having a Shamsher in their life. Hassan is right, although the roasting is fantastic but you should responsibly add a segment of addressing the nonsense of drama in every review, and if you think it's repetitive; then the poison they're feeding youth is repetitive too, we need regular detoxification.

I started watching your show recently, and I started loving it. Both of you are giving absolutely genuine reviews. The questions that we arise in our minds, and you are bringing those in front of all boldly.
Chauraha- I agree with Aamna that at the end it’s telling us take the lolipop to your home and don’t ask about the pain.
Begum Badshah- I would like to ask - Do these things happen in Pakistan? If not, why are they showing such kinds of dramas?
Habs - It was a great drama that full of emotions. I work with such kind of students in the US who have emotional issues and those turn out to the problems and go with them if are not handled in a proper way. Feroze khan nailed the show and so was Ushna in the begining. The characters are playing very well their roles, but the writer hasn’t played a fair role by providing something new. This drama could have some reasoning. I agree with Hassan - we are not dumb viewers. We need some logical story. The director /writer needs some genuine and intelligent concepts. Zoya’s incident should not be that stretched. Why Fahad and Ayesha are so dumb to do such silly things? I am with Feroze Khan’s role. Hassan didn't follow the silent scenes between Feroze and Ushna- those were amazing how we think when things are not in our control. Those infatuations are more powerful when we can't express them. Again, Feroze is the heart of this drama. I am watching this drama only because of him.

She reminds of Mrs. Bennett from Pride & Prejudice... only she's a tad more 'enterprising'. It would be nice to see a spinoff of her character. :)) The main characters will predictably have a happily-ever-after as such stories usually do.
Kaisi Teri khudgarzi : it's a tested and tried formula where the "hero's" character cannot be the bad guy till the end. Redemption of the bad guy who is the hero figure never fails to sell. Loving the parody of baby sher and his 'struggles'.. quite entertaining! :P

Maybe the reason they killed shahmir was 1) no matter how hard an outsider tries to change the system from outside but if he is unable to understand people and their customs nothing will change unless an insider understands that change is necessary and ignites it within the people.
    2) you cannot expect change only because a good person in the position of power unless he doesn't understand the system and is able the handle the consequences of his decision. From the beginning shahmir didn't wanted to be s pir and wanted to run away then slowly he started getting adapted but his father never let him make any decisions. He witnessed himself when he was trying to get married to gulnar what people's reaction was then how and why he thought that nothing will happen after his announcement. Shahzaib on the other hand is shown to be a powerful guy (although sometimes it feels like where has his power gone) and someone capable of handling difficult situations but he needs to understand the flaws of the system he's been living in and change the system only then peerapur will change.

I hope they will deal with the anger management/anxiety/functional depression angle of this character head-on because you can see all three issues in Sami Ji's character. These psychological conditions are real and are destroying lives. I hope they show therapeutic treatment as a solution rather than the 'subber' of a woman changing everything.

However, if you had been watching hassan, you would've known that they have shown Zoya's character arc. After this incident and losing her phupho she has become empowered. She started a job despite the disapproval of her step dad & she's not that roti dhoti bechari girl who can't speak for herself. In fact, she has agency. She gives befitting replies to her step sister & her aunt... even her step dad.
So while I don't like at all how they've shown zoya and her mother to be saying it wasn't junaid's fault exempting him of all his crimes, I do appreciate how the writer has empowered Zoya's character.

Sami khan is one of the finest actors we have. He has done negative characters many a times before as well. I agree with hasaan that in this episode, his acting was a bit weird but i actually found the reason. It is this character which is weird. Its not negative negative. Remember the scene when he tells his jijoo that he has not killed the man but the bhens and that sounded a bit comic so i think character is grey and not black.

Ur review of KTK is epic . The punch line of it was hasan's dialogue
"Kitni aur qistain apni deni hai ki mahek ko ulti hojaye". What a way to roast.
Something haute is way more entertaining than dramas and I eagerly wait for all ur programme.
Hope that these reviews are eye-opener and a source of learning for drama writers ,producers and viewers as well.
Love u guys for making me laugh .

Meray Humsafar : Finally the drama has ended without leaving a lifetime impact on the viewers
Although a huge commercial success but sadly it can't be remembered like timeless classics of the bygone golden days of PTV
As predicted before Shahjahan gets away sooooo damn easily for all her years long sufferings she unfeelingly inflicted on Hala by saying that all that was result of her (Shahjahanz )mother in law behaviour towards her and that she needed a punching bag for herself
    Is that so plausible !
Making a small girl suffer so much sans both parents ,
Continuing the same treatment when she grows up
Blaming her for her daughter's evil deeds
Forcing her to leave the home in the mid of night (she could be kidnapped or raped )
    Blackmailing her
Trying to kill her unborn child
Exposing her past relationship with a guy in front of all the family members in the most repellent way
Telling her son continuously to divorce her and not for a single second we see this lady taking stock of any of her action
Never ever feeling anything bad about it
Rather growing in wickedness and evil day by day
And when Rumis nikah is exposed we don't even then see her thinking it as an act of KARMA ,a warning but behaving in her usual pert and highly insensitive manner
And saying that Hala is not to come back to the house ,and taunting her for her bad character (in the sec last episode )
And she is forgiven by Hala in mere seconds
Here I couldn't help thinking about the review by both Hassan and Amna that Shahjahan should be tormented to the core and that would only compensate for what she had been doing to Hala but what happened
Rumi is married off in a very nice household
(Not punishment for her either )
Given the real life I have hardly seen anyone so generous hearted as to forgive someone for one's life long terrible deeds like this !!!!!

Roasting is aside but the fact hassan wanted to address in KTK is really imp! This is constantly getting normalized to glorify bad guys the entire time, then show their redemption journey, stretch it to the fact that audience already starts sympathizing with him accepts him as the hero. All feroze khan shows have this plot line. Above this we get the explanation and the bad guy gets punished or changed in the end then what else you want. So all the glorification which leads to normalizing toxic behavior into charming and desirable doesn't counts! Knowing the fact that these shows are watched by most of the younger lot.

Misunderstanding remained as the story will show that love triumphs all... even though Basit suspects Ayesha of infidelity, he will still fall for Ayesha.. so to glorify love over any other emotion, the misunderstanding remains

Loved, the Badshah Begum review. I'm so glad there's people who think the same as me about the show. The show is just a joke! Shahmeer dying wasn't even that impactful and we all saw that coming.

@@isratsarker7930 them people are delusional. It's a sure shot flop! There are some characters that are good but they've not been given the proper screen time and focus but other than that their main leads(Zara and Ali)main supporting cast(Gulnar,Murad,Roshan Ara,Hakim Bi) director, writer and editor flopped this show so bad.

    • @M.S.K..
      @M.S.K.. 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@rashmirao7140 Its aesthetically shot but the show is a flop. Performances are not up to the mark everyone is lacking. Main leads couldn't even carry the show and supporting cast made it so boring. Farhan and Yasir are consistent and their arcs are good including Zulekha but the story just doesn't do it for you especially love triangle, unnecessary Gulnar and Murad track. Its not well knit properly and it has so many flaws. The director couldn't direct the story properly, the show needed more than just good shots then the editor tanked the show as well. So many problems with this show from the get go.

@@M.S.K.. there are definitely some downsides like you mentioned but literally every single show has flaws. Idk why everyone is so hypercritical towards Badshah Begum when they've clearly tried to do something new and different and imo they've done an amazing job especially for a directorial debut. I think the show just isn't catered towards the general population

Just because 'sab mard shak kareinge' does not make it correct- nahin karna chayiye shak- Amna is correct- there is no need for a man like Basit to suspect his wife- it is just his insecurities and his dependence on and burgeoning love for his wife that makes him act like that.

I never felt any issue with Amna’s voice. And there is absolutely no issue with Hassan’s voice either. I would rather define them as one being more energetic and the other being soft spoken and having an elegant poise( doesn’t mean either one of you is not energetic or elegant it’s just that you both compliment each other and there is absolutely no need to worry.) the style of talking and describing of both of you is what we love the most! So plz stay the way you are!

I completely agree with Hassans pov on how first we engrave the toxicity glorified and presented in a manner that is appealing to the audience by drama makers and then after 30+ episodes of glorifying the toxic “hero” they redeem him bu showing how after going through a minor inconvenience his whole personality changed for good. These drama makers are normalising toxicity in our society and then using pathetic excuses to redeem them
