Kaisi Teri Khudgarzi: Hasan, Amna is right, if a Nikah is forced -but the woman agrees to a forceful nikkah under any circumstances, it is valid. For example, if someone does not want to get married, and her family, or anyone in particular force her to say yes, and she gives up, and agrees, and then says qabool hai, its valid. But lets suppose, someone has forcefully kidnapped a woman and pushes her to say yes, that'll be forceful as she did not agree in her heart for the nikkah. In Mehak's case, when Shamsher kidnapped her, and she resisted the nikkah, instead of agreeing to it with hatred, it would be Jabri Nikkah hence invalid. However, prior to the nikkah, Mehak agreed in front of her father to make a compromise. The difference is of consent, and compromise. If a girl consents to a nikkah, but is making a compromise (even with hatred) it's not invalid. If she does not consent to making that compromise, and says yes because she's forced to do so, that will be invalid. I know it's too sensitive, but yes, in Mehak's case, its valid.

Bakhtawar has joined the bandwagon of stretching the storyline of a basic story to make 30+ episodes. The title thumbnail with her 6 different avatars made us assume that there would be 6 different phases of the story but alas 4 of them were wrapped up in first 3 episodes and the rest is just a monotonous storyline, unlike Parizaad which had it's story distinctly spread out in phases. A coming of age story should focus on the main character's growth and love interests should only be a part of it, but that is the difference between a man's story and a woman's where the latter cannot be moving on to another man so easily and her victory is only to get married to her true love. I don't think I can invest in this show anymore except the episodes mentioning it as last or second last.

Current on-air dramas are so run-of-the-mill with mundane storylines. Fraud and Habs had huge potential but they had to drag the story and now have destroyed the drama. Bakhtawar: No doubt, Yumna’s acting was good, as a frustrated, bitter girl with her mom. Her resilience is turning into bitterness, as hardships increase for her. The drama itself, however, is dragging, has become stagnant, repetitive, and has lost the potential it looked to have at the start. It seems there is a set sequence of scenes repeated in every episode. There are 2 scenes of Sheeda blocking Bakhtawar , one scene of Bakhtawar with Dilawer, and one scene of her with her mother. One scene of Dilawar with his fiancé and parents, one scene of the maalik makaan couple. End of Episode, same repeated in the next with no practical movement in the story.

HABS: 1)I personally don't like seeing people brushing teeth or generally anything related to bathroom activities like that. I didn't find it cute, otherwise the scene was good. But that scene could have occurred anywhere.
    2) Why was Ayesha okay not going to dinner and then sulking later? Especially when they got back together after such huge drama! They could have maturely told Soha to leave as it's their special time. And if she doesn't learn business ab, when is she going to learn???
    3) The whole house fraud storyline is majorly unnecessary and so is 3rd sisters marriage and false pregnancy drama.
    4) Bano is a sensible independent character. Pls don't show Tahir and her together...she can get someone 10x better. El divorcee and bachha she doesn't deserve.

Hassan is very much right in his opininon regarding shamsher
He nearly violated the limits when he said that shadi was a need of mehak not him in the starting episodes. Though it is common for a girl to fall when a person shows this much attention. The same situation recalls gul e rana by feroz khan and sajal where feroz married sajjal on gun point and later changed himself yet sajjal never fall for him and kept her grace. Such strong headed characters are not shown in dramas.

Hassan Bhai - Although I don't watch KTK, I do follow your and Aamna Ji's reviews and I'm grateful that you stuck to your perspective on this whole matter due to sharing a similar view of the story. Whether someone forgives their partner or not is ultimately up to them but what is fundamentally wrong needs to be called that for the sake of the audience. I remember originally cast and crew said the lesson in the drama is to avoid men like Shamsher at ALL costs and now, we're asked to believe that men change so drastically and you can live a happy life with someone like that or that women need to forgive and compromise their ideals/values because their alternate option is a man like Ahsan. I do recognize Aamna Ji's perspective speaks to the practicality in the landscape of KTK, but why does their world have to be so limited - they could always introduce new characters as Mehak goes back to complete her education or becomes an entrepreneur. I don't think these are socioculturally appropriate narratives to tell because we have women fantasizing men like Shamsher/Kabir Singh/and the bajillion others etc. because their "love" is so encompassing and devoted. We need stronger father characters on screen - they could have easily made this a story of how a woman like Mehak fights against this oppressive man without it going into sadism like Cheekh and empower women to raise their voices against such men, what avenues to seek support from and maybe even show Mehak becoming that advocate. It's great that this show is so well-liked for the industry but I think it is unjust for the audiences, especially where men are being given the license AND forgiveness to do whatever the flip they want and women have to continue compromising.

The only closure that probably would have made some sense is between Basit n ayesha 's mom on the house . If Basit will give money again or the mother will finally accept her follies etc. No other track has any meaning or relevance to the main plot .The drama could have n should have ended here. Instead it has started all over again. Sad !

Agar: Though Hassan's on point regarding the not much age difference between the characters of Shavez & Annie, but goshhhh look at the on-screen chemistry between Juggun & Junaid! It's overwhelming! Miscasted may be as per the story, yet so well casted together. I can't stop drooling over them. They look so so good together. Let's just pitch in a benefit of the doubt that Juggun's at least playing her part of being the older woman up to the mark, otherwise she herself is not that stoic in real life.
KTK: The story itself is flawed. How can they make a story that starts with Shamsher creating the whole mess but ends with his father being the culprit instead? I completely agree with Hassan. If Shamsher was the one who created the mess, then he should also be the one to blame. His father didn't bring Mehak into their lives.

Kamal Hassan spots them together, assumes Junaid is doing zabardasti with Irsa and "rescues" her. To keep her izzat, he decides to marry her because she is alone and orphaned and the girl agrees cos she wants money and security.

    Hassan's point on forced marriage:
If the marriage contract has been done even though she was reluctant, then this marriage contract depends on the woman’s decision. If she accepts it, then it becomes a valid marriage contract, and if she does not then it is an invalid contract.
The husband does not have the right to force any physical relation without the woman accepting the marriage contract. Same goes for the woman. She can't have any physical relation with the husband until she accepts the marriage contract.

It's about two people who have this void. I think that's why they will come together. I don't know how they will convince the heroine bcoz she is very independent unless Kamaal saves her from something huge which will make her inclined towards him. Also in general girls who have traumatic childhood due to father tend to marry older men bcz they keep finding that masculine support and love which was lacking from father.

Sorry guys, but, actually found the KTK review underwhelming today. There wasn't any pg 18 content per se. I was clearly expecting better cuz you guys yourself hyped it up a lot LOL.. 🤣 Hassan you made it too serious in the start and i guess that didn't keep the momentum for the main bit.. i wish you had kept the discussion around the actual maqsad behind today's KTK review itself, atleast for today, you didn't have to go to the usual 101 flaws of KTK, "been there, done that" 😝 and especially cuz there was just too little of a discussion from you guys about the passion play between them in that sequence. And guys!! i think Danish and Dur e deserved a mention and praise for how beautiful they looked as a couple each time they came in the frame and how palpable their chemistry came out throughout.. yet all so subtle and very aesthetic.. Dur e looked Haseen and Danish looked way too HOT in that black tee. The setting was spot on, toofaani baarish, bijli aur ek candle light sequence. Full on cliche but highly enjoyable! ❤️😂
So far you haven't discussed Danish and Dur e as an onscreen couple.. so do bring that up as to what your thoughts are on their pairing. In my opinion, if the KTK makers have got one thing the most right, its casting these two opposite each other. Danish looks every bit the rough and tough Shamsher. And Dure too is spot on for the damsel in distress role, behind whom Shamsher falls madly in love. I feel they are one of the best looking onscreen couples to come out of the dramas this year. On top of that they have that palpable chemistry inspite of Dur e still learning to act.
I hope you continue this discussion in the next review yeah? Thanks 😝

Like Mehak was given a choice and she should have chosen to leave cause this woman is quite independent like she is basically providing in the house. She shouldn't even think of his awful father at this point. But no doesn't she think of ALL THE things happened to her when she looks at him

KTK: totally in line with Hasan's opinion here. In stories like such why do we show that the abuse ends up living "happily" with the abuser. Why can't we show that the woman decided to call off the wedding and get herself independent regardless of any man.

Farq: kamal hasan/Hassan kamal is a loving father who wants to establish a relationship with his daughter. He is struggling to relate to her due to the age gap. By marrying a girl that is the same age as his daughter, kamal hasan/hasan kamal can finally learn how to manage his father-daughter relationship. He is sacrificing himself by marrying a young girl. We have clearly established that he is still in love with his wife. He doesn’t want to get married but he has to. For the sake of his daughter. What a great role model for all the men out there struggling to connect with their young daughters. Marry someone else’s daughter so you may understand yours better.

According to the Quran, only Mahr and Ejaab o Qubool are necessary for nikah. According to Sunni schools of thought, witnesses are also required. That's all. All other things are mustahab (recommended), not necessary.
Secondly, if a girl is forced into marriage, it is an invalid contract. If she later accepts the forced marriage, it becomes a valid marriage contract. However, I do not find Mehak and Shamsher's marriage invalid, because the guardian did not force her to marry Shamsher. It was Mehak's decision, under whatever circumstances.

About saira being rukhsana's daughter, I never made such a guess but whenever I saw the title of the drama, I always felt that sawera nadeem looked a lot like the actress who played saira in that poster.
