Lovely positive personality. Very sensible reply from her that making web series does not mean crossing limits and showing skin and shock elements without any relevance, referring to Barzakh, or making anti religion, anti state propaganda content. She has given masterpieces under censorship board. Doraha, Daam are my all time favourites. Watched Daam 3 times. No glamour, no makeup, no fancy mansions, yet so engaging. Short, crisp, and extremely strong.

Will you finally do DAAM for haute gold because that is a classic and one of her best dramas ever! I remember you even announced it a couple of years ago and then we never heard about it again lol she is absolutely brilliant. I'm so glad you interviewed her.

Mehreen and Aamna it has been an absolute pleasure listening to this conversation. Such a thought-provoking, interesting and lively exchange of thoughts. Mehreen Jabbar is an asset of our industry and has a plethora of feathers in her cap. It is my ultimate dream that she once collaborates again with my favorites Sania Saeed and Nadia Jamil for some project. THAT is indeed the ultimate power trio! Miss those simple days of PTV.
I got so excited when Mimi mentioned Azra Babar and paid her the tribute that she truly deserves. Loved that smile on Mehreen's face when she mentioned all my favorite projects - Ab Tum Jaasaktay Ho, Abba Amma aur Ali, Putli ghar, Farar, Dhoop mein saawan It just shows how much she cherishes those stories. Indeed they were gems that very few of our current viewers are aware of. Such futuristic takes, such substantial themes.....man I miss it so soooooooo much. For those who want to watch refreshing, beautiful content, please go and watch these stories. All of them are on TH-cam.
Once again Aamna, thank you so very much for this interview. It was indeed one of your best ones!
(Btw Mehreen you forgot one very important drama of yours and Azra's: Pehchaan....please if you're reading this, upload it on TH-cam....it was such an amazing story).

Mehreen Jabbat is just a magician on screen. Her storytelling is so raw, nuanced, complex and powerful. Daam is her best work where the duo was at their best. Doraha, Malaal, Jackson Heights & Rehaai. The sheer rawness without the glamour with the focus on being human psychologies is marvellous. Missing a long play from her.

Finally mehreen jabbar arrived at something haute...❤❤❤
Starting from Ab tum jaa saktay ho, farar, dhoop mein sawan, col sahab ki betiyaan, harjaai, pehchan, doraha, malal, mata e jaan, daam, neeyat, jackson heights, jurm, ek jhoothi love story and now nadaan..
If we come to her films then ramchand paksitani, dobar phir se and lala begum, what a career and amazing director she is. In the history of pakistani cinema and television she was and she will remain the undisputed queen of content.
Mehreen unique way of registering her voice through her work and thats make her outstanding, classapart..

What a fascinating discussion! Mehreen Jabbar’s insights into the evolution of the Pakistani TV industry are invaluable, especially considering her extensive experience and the challenges she has navigated over the years. It's incredible to hear her perspective on how storytelling in Pakistan has transformed, particularly through her impactful works like "Doraha" and "Daam."
Her journey, from directing critically acclaimed dramas to making her mark internationally with "Ramchand Pakistani," is a testament to her talent and resilience. It’s particularly inspiring how she combines her artistic vision with social themes, making her projects resonate deeply with audiences.
I appreciate her emphasis on the importance of cultural narratives and representation, which seems more crucial now than ever. It’s refreshing to see a director not only celebrate the rich tapestry of Pakistani storytelling but also push for its evolution in a global context. I look forward to seeing how her influence continues to shape the industry and inspire new generations of filmmakers!

This is the second time that Mehreen has done this - from what I’ve heard in her recent interviews- raising awareness for the plight of The Crew. The production staff and technicians who work in unsafe environments and don’t even make the minimum wage. While we raise our voices against oppression anywhere in society and whilst we wish to keep enjoying the glitzy distraction that TV provides to many who suffer from stressful lives in Pakistan esp, let’s please make it a point to talk about fair pay and minimum wage frequently too- with every mention of the production houses this has to be done- so that they sit up and take note. Just like the casting couch and problematic slaps or story arcs had to be mentioned repeatedly, let’s speak up for those among us who will never have others raise a flag for them otherwise.
We can’t change everything for everyone but we have to try and keep trying

Something haute deleted my comment under this video...I just wanted to clarify that I'm not against ur channel... I actually love to watch ur content... But the thing I want to make clear here is your unnecessary favourism towards mahira & fawad.... Specially amna do that...u guys only want to make noise of humsafar...Daam deserves to be more talk about drama... the characters, acting, cast, story everything is 10/10...after 14 years it still make sense ... Humsafar makes no sense to me now which u guys always want to keep on front page.. Thankyou

That’s not right, we should respect each other’s choices. What are you demanding them to do you are doing the same. Mahira is genuinely a superstar it doesn’t mean that Amina shiekh and Sanam baloch are any less than her. They all are our stars and we all are so proud of them. We love them and respect them equally.

In Pakistan, time management is a big issue. Senior artists display a sublime indifference to time and invariably arrive late for work. United States has the highest management practice scores, on average, followed by Germany and Japan.

Why can't we create dramas like Tapish, Dhuwan, Akhari Chatan, or Nijaat anymore? Why does every storyline now revolve around a hero, heroine, and marriage?

Can't believe Mehreen Jabbar type of brilliant director could ever accept such a weak script of "Nadaan" & then lacking her all times brilliant directing speciality in this serial.
