I took my friend and his 14 year old daughter to see himm at Foxwoods a few years back. She's a hard core Aerosmith fan and there jaws dropped after seeing what Jeff Beck was throwing down !!!!
When you get a chance GO !!!! Best guitarist you'll ever see. I never seen a guitarist play with such perfection and Jeff Beck makes sure you get the best !!!
I have no idea where rock and roll will be 20 years up the line but Jeff Beck has been the pinnacle from 1963 to 2007. What a career so far, at least when he tends to the music rather than the automobilin'.
The best version of "Going Down" by far. Vocally perfect, & most importantly it highlights Jeff Beck at his best. Sublimely unique, every note perfectly crafted. Genius!
I saw him on this tour. I had never seen him live. It schooled me on Jeff Beck. MAN did he bring the house down. Jimmy Page's set with Paul Rodgers was on fire (during the Friday show--by the Sunday show, Page had obviously had a weekend of partying...). Joe Cocker did great, everyone who played was fantastic. But Jeff Beck just blew my doors off, especially with this song. Whew!
I was there in SF's Cow palace in 1983 and jeff totally dominated the show! not easy when u have the likes of eric clapton and jimmy page playing their own sets? a few years earlier when i was writing reviews for a music magazine i hear jeff beck's Truth lp, his 1st solo in 1968 and proclaimed him as the greatest guitar player in the world! And shortly before his death, a reporter asked jimi how it felt to be the greatest guitar player in the world? and Jimi said, go ask Jeff Beck!??
Could not agree more. I admire him for his total control even when he seems to be out of control. I saw him warm up Santana in '95. Now he has Tal Wilkenfeld playing bass and She complments his style so well ...check her out...young beautiful and talented
Chris Stainton is the other keyboardist. Cool to see Jan Hammer. Andy Fairweather-Low singing with Jeff. Bass player's name is Fernando Saunders. GREAT MUSIC.
Just got back from the Foxwoods show. Jeff Beck gets better and better with age!!! His performance was incredible, Beck is the greatest guitarist around!!!!
simon phillips, as well as cozy powell, steve lukather and others musicians are very easy to find here in youtube, even when we aren't searching for them...
Jeff Beck is the master!!!! Just saw him @ Foxwoods a few months ago, he is just incredible. I see some think he's to technical, he's just that good. Jeff isn't into sloppy guitar work.
Simon Phillips drums Fernando Saunders Bass Chris Stainton Piano Jan Hammer Keyboard Ron Wood Rhythm Guitar Andy Fairweather - Low vocals and Jeff Beck Lead Guitar Just Awesome!!!!!
Always speechless with everything that JB is and has. I mean, what else would you say about God,.. to God? plus the fact that I fell in love w him in 1975.. long time now hehehe... X
Picks? We don't need no steeenking picks !:P!:P Saw JB about 3 years before this, front row, right in front of him. The man OWNS the guitar. He did more with his instrument, in so many different ways, that he held your attention throughout the show. It truly was a master-class experience. Peace:)
GREAT!!! Jeff Beck - Guitar. Simon Phillips - Drums Andy Fairweather Low - Vocals Jan Hammer - Keyboard. Ron Wood - Guitar Fernando Saunders - Bass Guitar Chris Stainton - Piano
He does this song in two keys primarily: D and G. This is in the key of D here. Basically a I, IV, V progression. Simple tune by Freddy King. You should see him play it. Freddy's version is very good too.
Chris Stainton is the seated keys player and Jan's standing, I remember Clapton had multiple keyboardists of which Stainton was one, I may be wrong but on ARMS was there a keyboardist named Kenny Jones? KennEy Jones of The Faces and The Who played drums on Claptons set and the All Star set, but not on Beck's set. Although he may have sat in for a tune at various stops along the tour
That's Andy Fairweather-Low on vocals. Unless there's another Kenney Jones, who was the drummer for the Faces and Keith Moon's first replacement in the Who and was on this tour playing drums with other acts, that's not him on keyboards. Looks like Chris Stainton, but I've never seen him with his hair that short. Anyone know for sure who it is?
Was at this tour Cow Palace in San Francisco in 1983 still have program from show didn't go home for two days ex-girlfriend was mad at me i wonder why!!!!!!!!!!! Oh! My!
This is such a great live version, if only the there was better sync with sound! I know there is some whiz out there it who can fix this up! Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
@cinema33 I wouldn't doubt it. Jeff Beck really underwent a transformation over the years, definitely the most talented guitarist to come out of the Yardbirds, and that's hard for me to say because I love Zeppelin, but Jimmy can't play too well these days.
He was on fire that night. The only thing as good as his playing in these numbers is his tasty noodling in between. He brought a laser guided nuclear missile to a spoon fight.
If you knew guitar you'd know what Beck does is much harder than what SRV did. I'm a fan of both, but Beck was/is the more technically gifted and creative guitarist.

The KING OF GUITAR!!!! Jeff Beck does things with his guitar that can't be copied. Saw Jeff recently and was in awe, he is incredible.
The best version of "Going Down" by far. Vocally perfect, & most importantly it highlights Jeff Beck at his best. Sublimely unique, every note perfectly crafted. Genius!
Heck, I’d say this entire setlist is the definitive version of each song, besides People Get Ready.
This show is literally incredible.
Jeff makes it look so easy! My all-time favorite guitarist!!!!!!!
I saw him on this tour. I had never seen him live. It schooled me on Jeff Beck. MAN did he bring the house down. What a incredible player he is.
People compare the greatest guitar players and the simple answer is Jeff Beck !!!! Jeff is God, your right !!!!
Jazz, blues, rock n roll, rock. Beck has what you need. Nobody better.
What a great performance! Thanks for sharing.....
Chris Stainton is the other keyboardist. Cool to see Jan Hammer. Andy Fairweather-Low singing with Jeff. Bass player's name is Fernando Saunders. GREAT MUSIC.
Jan Hammer on portable keys!! Omg Possibly the best musician on the stage, and these guys are all giants.
Just got back from the Foxwoods show. Jeff Beck gets better and better with age!!! His performance was incredible, Beck is the greatest guitarist around!!!!
RIP Jeff Beck

Sergio, you know it !! I saw Jeff Beck a few years ago and he is all that.
Drummer Simon Phillips is the man!!
Beck is the greatest guitar player alive.Page, Clapton, etc can all take a backseat to the great one.
Simon Phillips drums Fernando Saunders Bass Chris Stainton Piano Jan Hammer Keyboard Ron Wood Rhythm Guitar Andy Fairweather - Low vocals and Jeff Beck Lead Guitar Just Awesome!!!!!
Love love love Jeff Beck!!!!!
Freddie King (September 3, 1934 - December 28, 1976), ,, when Freddie heard this version he got up and went DANCIN'. ROUND.......!!...

@@raywebb7501 Yes you are correct. Don Nix did indeed write it.

@sd006 Simon Philips is incredible! You should check out some of his videos here.
Even more fitting today TJ
This is THE jam song.
That's Andy Fairweather-Low on vocals. Unless there's another Kenney Jones, who was the drummer for the Faces and Keith Moon's first replacement in the Who and was on this tour playing drums with other acts, that's not him on keyboards. Nicky Hopkins absolutely sets the keyboard on FIRE.........!
I know your comment is very old but that wasn't Nicky Hopkins on piano it was Chris Stainton
@@vc23 Thanks for the correction. An epic piece like this should be correctly attributed.
@@geob0324 Quite a few people thought it was Nicky Hopkins on other videos from that concert and all the other ARMS concerts, so you weren’t alone 😀
Was at this tour Cow Palace in San Francisco in 1983 still have program from show didn't go home for two days ex-girlfriend was mad at me i wonder why!!!!!!!!!!! Oh! My!
JEFF BECK!!!!!!!!!!
It's not Kenny Jones on drums, it's Simon Phillips
That is the one and only Jan Hammer (Miami Vice) on the stand up keyboard thing!
This is the 1985 ARMS concert.
@sd006 The drummer is Simon Phillips. Supewrbly talented. Plays for Toto now
I him afterwards and a guitar pick he gave me.
RIP 😞😞😞 RIP

Hail Simon Phillips.
Vids high quality but my audio doesnt synch right. Whatever, Becks the man!

@cinema33 I wouldn't doubt it. Jeff Beck really underwent a transformation over the years, definitely the most talented guitarist to come out of the Yardbirds, and that's hard for me to say because I love Zeppelin, but Jimmy can't play too well these days.
Check out the video for AMBITIOUS, Beck is one of a kind!!!
Hot.. hot .. hot .. rock me all night long... !!
Good eye! Playin rythym!!
Beck and Hammer, get out of here thats the best. Saw BECK live "77 off the hook.
To bad the crowd sucked! I'd have been screaming in the front row along with the song!
@cinema33 Now if EVH learned from Becks work ethic we might hear some new music from VH!!!
1983 was really a weird year. What a strange lineup this was.I really don't think that guy "singing" with the tamborine was even necessary.
I just wish I could play well enough to hold his guitar case. If you can play this any better post it
He was on fire that night. The only thing as good as his playing in these numbers is his tasty noodling in between. He brought a laser guided nuclear missile to a spoon fight.
WALL STREET ! GREED IS GOOD !
davethemanwithabsolutelynobrain
Is that Andy Fairweather-Low singing anyone?
@cinema33 EDDIE COULDN'T HOLD JEFF'S GUITAR PICK WHAT A BURN
The DNC’s new song!😎👍🎶🙏💕
If you knew guitar you'd know what Beck does is much harder than what SRV did. I'm a fan of both, but Beck was/is the more technically gifted and creative guitarist.

I thought it was Rory Gallagher that Hendrix referenced
2nd that....Brotha......
