I remember when my partner was in a coma gosh that was scary as hell Hearing the doctors speaking to her and me I broke down away from her Please people if you have any mental health issues get help please🥺
Consent issues dont seem to be nuanced enough in the US if this is accurate. In the UK, if a person over 16 doesnt have capacity to make their own medical decisions, the doctors will take into account family's views, try to find out about the person and what their likely decision would be if they had capacity, and if all parties cant come to an agreement, the decision is taken to the courts. A 10 week ild fetus would not have any rights. An exception would be if someone has specifically decided to hand over responsibilty for medical decisions in the event that they lose capacity and signed legal paperwork when they were able to consent.
„Private Practice“ had a similar storyline years ago. A patient that had been in a coma for years was found pregnant and when they found out, her husband got really excited because he knew that he was the father and he openly admitted it. In his sick head it wasn’t rape or morally wrong, because she was his wife. He had raped her for years. I don’t really remember anymore if they terminated the pregnancy though. I actually think she had a miscarriage, but I am not sure. I think the husband even wanted to try for another baby, but the doctors called the cops on him.
I have a feeling it was the father. The fact that the parents wanted to keep the baby that was a product of rape just gives me the vibes that they wanted another baby, probably couldn't have one and didn't want to pay for a surrogate, so they took the only chance they had and the father raped her to try to impregnate her. Also, the fact that the parents wanted to keep the baby after being told their daughter could die makes me believe that it was the father, and the mother knew about it.
Dude... I can understand if they didn't want to make the choice for her and were unsure because she was in a coma, however... Dude... They are risking her life!

Can I just say Brooke, looks amazing and she'll always be my favourite actress
Parents are very selfish.
They are not what is the probability she will survive
If she dies suddenly or remains like that it's over
@@yanamandrasastry9103 even if she suddenly died, they could put her in life support and wait till the baby is born

The way dr manning treats her patient are actually a perfect way to treat them.
If you want to continue watching it a clip Called “ Locked in syndrome|Chicago med” has the rest of it.
Where exactly can I watch it cause I can't seem to be able to find it 😖😖😖😖
- the only part we have left.. Shocking as it is.. I love the parents decision: "Sorrow shared is horror spared"
Is it weird that the second they found out that she was pregnant and in that place for five years I thought it was her father 😳😳
ultrasound student here! The moment she says “this woman is pregnant!” the ultrasound monitor is showing a picture of her right kidney and liver 🤦♀️ 😅
Congratulations, it's organs! lmao
as a radio resident i was losing my mind! she's not even using the correct probe for transabdominal examinations 😂
How parents could think getting their girl trough pregnancy like this, this is Abuse too!!
I just saw someone accidentally say vegetable state instead of vegatitive state and I can’t stop laughing
Did they show who did it? Was it the father? I feel like the father did it.
jodie d no. The patients mother paid someone to do it so she could have a grandchild
Chelsea Williams terribleee!!!!!
@@chelseawilliams1068 wtf
Chelsea Williams Ewwwww!! How did the episode end?
Chelsea Williams omg seriously!? What the actual fuck
The parents of the patient are absolutely horrible just horrible how dare they make a decision for their daughter as serious as giving birth and she is conscious
At the same time how dare they choose to kill the baby without her consent. It's a loose loose situation. There are a great amount of women who if they woke up would be horrified to find out that you killed their baby
So making the decision for abortion is still making a choice for her lmao
@@Pigeonsandoranges So a 10 week fetus is a baby?
@@Pigeonsandoranges good thing it is not a baby
I would never speak to my parents after this
I am sorry,
are you okay?now?
I love how all of the pregnant women (if they know it or not) end up getting Dr.Manning
Something like this actually happened this year. It's disgusting, it was the security guard. No one noticed until the woman was in labour I think, which is even more terrible.
Edit: it was a quadriplegic woman and no one noticed until she gave birth to a baby boy. And they think it wasn't the first time she was pregnant. And it was her nurse not security
Yep
Gosh this made me feel nauseas, people are so evil
I bloody love Dr. Manning~ 💕💕
Is anyone else addicted to this show?! 😂🤔
I hate how that nurse always tries to force people to do what she wants. Why would you try to convince someone to kill a baby?
Well it’s either both of them die or one of them dies
@@thesleepyduck8368 no it isn’t. You did not listen to the doctors. It has more risks than a regular pregnancy but they could both survive or at worst just the baby.
This is heartbreaking, I need to watch this show
Omg the victim is such a good actress
This is particularly heartbreaking after the news of a brain dead woman being found pregnant who lost consciousness fourteen years ago 💔 What kind of monster does it take to be to do this to someone?
And then knowing she's been awake and conscious the whole time...horrible
You know what's more disgusting than a rapist ? The parents who want their daughter to keep that baby 😡
Wow! She looks at an image of the liver and right kidney and diagnoses a pregnancy 😂🤰🤣
She heard the heartbeat
I remember when my partner was in a coma gosh that was scary as hell
Hearing the doctors speaking to her and me I broke down away from her
Please people if you have any mental health issues get help please🥺
Consent issues dont seem to be nuanced enough in the US if this is accurate. In the UK, if a person over 16 doesnt have capacity to make their own medical decisions, the doctors will take into account family's views, try to find out about the person and what their likely decision would be if they had capacity, and if all parties cant come to an agreement, the decision is taken to the courts. A 10 week ild fetus would not have any rights. An exception would be if someone has specifically decided to hand over responsibilty for medical decisions in the event that they lose capacity and signed legal paperwork when they were able to consent.
Meredith from the vampire diaries😍😍
Hanaba Ahhabs and melissa from pretty little liars 😆
her family is literally using her as an incubator for her rapist's child. This is one of the most misogynistic things I've seen. it's disgusting
It’s horrible that this happened in real life :((
Forcing someone to carry a baby when they can't consent to carry to term is a fucked up thing.
If the baby is “not alive”, then neither is the mother who is in a “vegetative state”. Proof of life is not dependant on consciousness.
What else can go wrong with that poor lady's life!! Parents even more cruel
What episode? Im so behind

Is it me or did anyone else felt heartbroken seeing this episode?I know it's just a show but omg
I bet the pro-life conservatives would love to support the parents' choice.
when you are pro life it doen´t necessarily mean you are a conservative, just saying...
Daisy Miller Rare cases.
But existent...
I think this goes under the category of pro-birth rather than pro-life
They would but regardless of position on abortion, when you are unconscious, your nominated kin decide your medical care.
I dont know why one of these clips came up the last day. And i watches it. And now this. I dont know what chicago med is but i now want to watch it.
Dude... I can understand if they didn't want to make the choice for her and were unsure because she was in a coma, however... Dude... They are risking her life!
When they moved the body from the stretcher I can feel the same pain when I got out of surgery and they have to do an Xray
IT HURTS A LOT

Man learning later in this episode that the Daugther had Locked-In syndrome, made me think that she must be really mad at her parents for doing what they wish and deciding they wanted to go with the pregnancy even if the risk were high. I know if it were me, I'd be furious
Doctor: There's a risk
The dad : it's just a risk right
Me:😡
those are some AWFUL parents.
Please, tell me that the PDC got the r@pist.
The parents are monsters.
What if she does wake up, and she finds out her parents made her have a pregnancy? thats a horrible thing to do to their child, she didnt consent to any of it!!! awful parents!!
This is the first time I'm seeing Brooke and Nanny Carrie together on the Chicago series.
Before being disgusted by such parents we should put ourselves in their shoes, I mean they are just parents who had a daughter in coma for 5 years they just want her to come back to them in any ways, with this thought make them not thinking twice before making decisions.
The reaction of the parents is soooo unrealistic. In the momment they found out there daughter was raped in the hospital they would straight up sue everyone in there.
How could parents makes such decisions? Horrible
Omg it's Melissa! Like if you know who I mean!
3:26 that smile scares me
This sick thing happened in real life recently... that’s crazy.
It even more horrible that it actually happened weeks ago in real life
I love how the patient, dr manning, and the detective are all from pretty little liars 😂❤️❤️
