Zenyatta was the most impressive to me. Not only did she compete two years in a row against all the best young males in the game (she was five and six), She came from eighteen lengths back at the final turn and was held up by Quality Road or she would have beat Blame. She is still today the only horse to win two different classic races, The Ladies classic in 2008 and Classic in 2009, and only female to win the classic since the race began. She is a legend. Horse of the Year, and will be in the Hall of Fame. She has a life size statue outside Santa Anita.
@@willkronenberg3699 Tiznow won the Classic twice. Zenyatta won two different classic races. The Ladies Classic in 2008 and then then against the males in the Classic in 2009. Tiznow won the same race twice, Zenyatta won two different races in the Breeders Cup.
Just shows you how impressive Tiznow was and will always be.There is no horse in the history of the breeders cup as great as Tiznow. He beat world class fields and not ordinary horses
My favorite Classic winner was Alphabet Soup, because he beat the great Cigar, and he was my first ever $50 win/place bet, returning 19-1 profits. Next would be Tiznow, back to back, and also, very very profitable.
What’s with all the damn bird’s in 86☠️🤷🏾. IMO Gate Dancer wins if they cleared the track of bird’s first, similar to what some airfields will do using dogs to chase off the riff raff. And I know people say that GD was a head case but I’m pretty sure having birds flying in his line of sight didn’t help.
People think Zenyatta is the best but the greatest of them is and will always be Tiznow. There ia no horse that can come near Tiznow and the horses he beat in the classic
Little bit of race riding on Garrett Gomez’s part, too. Look as Zenyatta as she’s coming up on his flank. You see Gomez drift out a bit causing a split second of intimidation. Enough to win the race. No rules broken. Smith understood this too being a veteran rider.
The "Best" Horse in All of these Events was a Horse who "Lost" in my Opinion...That was "Easy Goer"...Pat Day Closing aboard the Heavy "1-2" favorite to lose by a "Neck" at the Wire was Unforgiveable....No idea what he was thinking on the Gulfstream surface
Easy Goer was The Best Horse in 1989 Classic...He was entering race off a grueling campaign that included running 12 Furlongs the race before the Classic...Was Training Poorly coming into race...Ankles were flaring up...Connections discussed scratching him...Broke slow in 6th position...Moved up...fell back....Moved up...Sluggish throughout...Speed favoring Track...He Still managed to only come up short a "Neck" closing at the wire as the Heavy 1-2 Favorite...McCarron also called that race the Best ride of his entire Career and said he stole the race from Easy Goer...All of the Circumstances of that race were against Easy Goer...Extremely unfortunate not to Win the race...Easy Goer had Top 5 All time natural Talent....Sunday Silence was a Great horse and rival but personally feel he was very Fortunate to hold the slight 3 to 1 edge over Easy Goer...He also had Easy Goer Pinned on the rail the ENTIRE Preakness stretch to win by a "Nose"...Some Great Horses are just Unlucky at times and Easy Goer was an example
I know it's ridiculous, but I still can't watch replays of 2010. Breaks my heart all over again.

Good thing for Zen that Quality Road scratched in the gate after behaving so badly.
Mike Smith gave her a terrible ride. Too far back
Tiznow won 2 Classis

The inaugural BC Classic served notice that this was the best thing racing had done in years.
Accelerate was a great horse, and i think he deserves a great edit like every Breeders Cup Classic winner- of course,if you want to do it.
2010 still hurts to watch.
Sunday Silence
Tiznow really said "let me win it twice".
I weaned Proud Truth from his Mother and worked in the training barn with him.
When the announcer overshadows the race, you know it's Tom Durkin calling em home

Lol you need to add my boy vino roso
The filly in 2009 legendary
No horse would have beaten Wild Again on that day
Mom didn't bother betting Proud Truth for me in the classic. I was annoyed.
Lexi C::Thank you ¡¡
Ghostzapper and skip away
2 monster horses
Poor Ferdinand , the Japanese sent a
Champion to slaughter
Friend of mine had a big bet on Ibn Bey....
Alysheba!!
Who likes old tome durkin
Durkin's race calling is sad.
Anyone who truly understands racing knows that Arrogate's Classic towers above all others
That is entirely a matter of opinion.
American pharaoh was the best horse he was a super 🐎

Pat moved Easy Goer to late he told me in person so 2 strides after the wire EG was a full length ahead.

I say alysheba was the best horse that has won the classic
The wire saved Blame.
Sure, just blame it on the wire why doncha... (See what I did there).
the wire was at 1 1/4 miles, the race was at 1 1/4 miles. The wire didn't save me, either.

That might be my favorite BC. Durkin's call was classic.
Although he Lost by a Neck i would Take Easy Goer over all of These Horses
Thank goodness we don't have to listen to Denman's whining tone any longer. Wow, is he hard to listen to.
I think it's his accent that bothers you the most. Be truthful with us AND yourself.
Indeed he does have a horrid high pitch.
