While I agree with more of what Cornette says, Meltzer still has more stroke with modern day wrestling media. Corny has radicalized his viewpoints so much, from Becky Lynch pregnancy comments to Murdoch Ethiopia chicken joke. I’d rather impress Meltzer in today’s wrestling world rather than impress Cornette. Meltzer’s opinion is more palatable.

Honestly not all in with Cornette on this latest controversy, but ironic Dave’s knocking Corny as being too negative when he’s doing shows with Alvarez. Particularly on WWE stuff, the guy is just negative for negative’s sake and a lot of times his criticisms don’t even make sense to me. At Cornette’s worst, the analysis is so grounded in logic that you can at least respect the opinion.

Jim Cornette is the best single individual to explain wrestling psychology. I would say Al Snow is second. His explanation of the Revival vs. Undisputed Era match is a masters class on pacing a match.

What Eddie Mansfield did was worse in my opinion because he exposed the business at a time when kayfabe was in full effect and I'm not even a fan of parody Wrestling. I agree with most of Cornette's views on Wrestling but alot of those guys are talented. Most of the parody Wrestlers are very good and dont need that approach. It's unfortunate that we wont have Cornette on a modern Wrestling platform because he's a great talker and Wrestling mind. Jim needs to realise that it will never go back to the old days as kayfabe is dead and has been for a long time. Wrestling is now a performance rather than a fight or sports event, within a performance the audience will accept goofier aspects as long as the suspension of disbelief can be upheld. It's like thinking that game of thrones can't be good because people know it's fake, it just doesn't hold up anymore, or even it would be like saying magic shows are awful because the audience is aware that magic isn't real. I like listening to Jim and I get its his gimmick to be angry but it's grating at this point. Wrestling has always had stupid things involved and are equally as stupid if you look at it from a neutral standpoint.

Bored Now Bored Now Yes, not everyone has to have the exact same thoughts on wrestling, pro wrestling isn’t just 1980’s Mid South. Some people like WWE, some people like NJPW, some people like WCCW stuff, and some people like the ridiculous death match shit. There’s different types of wrestling for a reason, because there’s a market for said wrestling, I wish Jim would understand that.

Jim is right about this, people moan that he's not in WWE or NWA or AEW or ROH etc, yet when he DOES get there, they want him gone, it's a two sided coin deal.
The people who complain about him not being there are not, for the most part, not the people who complain about him when he is there.
Personally, I enjoy his podcast content, but at this I'd rather he just stay in his corner and leave the modern wrestlers and promotions he doesn't like to do their own thing. No major promotion is going to be what he wants and most of them are going to be something he doesn't want, so there's no point.
