I do a lot of hand basting, but I’ve also discovered water soluble basting tape (like wonder tape) and it’s extremely helpful for make knits behave. I really like using it at the beginning of a seam when serging since the feed dogs tend to separate the two layers at the beginning.
That's neat! I too use a water soluble product quite often, but in my case it is a water soluble thread, I especially like it for basting a zipper, so that way I don't have to fish out that basting thread after, it just comes out in the wash. Very handy when doing batch sewing!
Thanks for the video. I totally agree about hand stitching; glad I’m not the only one, lol. I’m old school, I learned all the hand stitchings at school, it saves time, I resort to hand stitching a lot 😊
Fantastic video! The hood with a lining stumps me every time I make a hoodie. The written instructions are often written so poorly. Your instructions are so clear and make perfect sense! Thank you for continuing to teach me.
Thank goodness this video showed up in my feed! I followed a person's suggestion about unsubscribing and immediately resubscribing, and your video showed up today. Have a great week!
Welcome back! Was it because you weren't getting notifications for the videos? I have the same issue with other channels and I will try this suggestion, thank you so much! :)
I love your videos Alisa! You have taught me so much about seeing my own clothes and I am learning something all the time from you! I also love that we are from neighbour countries ( I am from Lithuania) 💛😊
Very nicely done. I need to find my old UK jacket (packed away somewhere in my sewing room) and install a new zipper. It really helps when you have a better idea of what you are trying to do. Thank you so much.
Thank You Michelle! The great part about it - you can use all of the previous tutorials to create these kind of jackets from a bodice block and a hood :)
Self drafted pattern using knit bodice block from my videos, as well as the hood drafting from my videos. You can also use the same instructions for whatever patter you are using :)
If you'd like to draft your own hood, here's how to do it - th-cam.com/video/DWEG7uAuW_g/w-d-xo.html

Love your teaching style and your maturity. Thank you so much for what you do!

You are so right, hand stitching can work wonders :)
Super ! Je vais garder et partager ton podcast qui est d'une grande qualité, comme toujours. Merci ❤

Perfect timing! I'm about to turn a pull-over hoodie into one with a zipper, and now I can act like I know what I'm doing! 😊
Hooray, installing zipper from start to finish, amazing job. Thank you so so much. Happy Monday 😊 ☀️.
Yessss :) I knew you would enjoy it! :)

Thank you for sharing 😊
My pleasure 😊
Wow amazing 😮
I would love it if you could do a tutorial on how to make a pullover hoodie into one with a zipper. I love your channel!
i.e., The method of cutting it open and managing a hood that meets at the top.
I am actually working on a new series for my channel called "Hack My clothes" and this is one of the projects :)
Thank you very helpful x
Glad it was helpful!
Blind hemming by machine is an alterative for those who are not wanting to hand stitch ;)
Is this a self drafted pattern? If not can you please list the pattern used in this video?? I love the step by step instructions!!!!!!
