    Thank-you, thank-you! I feel so liberated from the task of trying to find matching colored zippers of different lengths!

    How perfect! I wanted to be able to separate a back cushion for my camper. After watching your video, I knew what I needed to order & do! Thank you so much!
    I will mention, I chose to leave the little cord. I figured that would keep it stronger & help prevent it from pulling off sideways. I then had to apply the little bits by sliding on at the ends. Worked perfectly.

    I never leave comments on videos, but I can't thank you enough for this one! I've never worked with zippers before, and this was EXACTLY what I needed. great video.

    Hi Megan, Just found your channel, great video on the zippers, this was very helpful, I didn't even know that you could make your own open ended zipper, so I am very grateful for this video, TF, Cheers Anna.

    Thank you for this great video, I think you have made the best one. Do you have a tutorial for installing the pin and stop box on #10 YKK Molded tooth continuous zipper? I understand the process would be almost the same, but lining up the teeth seems a little different. I have zippers on enclosures that do not separate to remove and I am working on installing the pin and stop box.

    I've tried this but I'm struggle with combining both sides of zipper tape. In my case, the puller never let me do this. The pin side stuck way before the teeth gets in. Each side slides well alone though. It may seem like the size of the puller matters, but it worked well before the reformation. Do you have any idea that I can do to make it work?
    Thanks for sharing your work of creativity by the way.

    Thanks! Seam ripper worked on weird metal coil / nylon combo zipper. Is Superglue really necessary for the bottom? I'd use E6000 if glue was needed, but that would take 24 hours to set.

    Awesome video. I'm struggling to get the box stop and slider in Australia. I need it in a larger size and for molded plastic zippers. If anyone knows where these can be purchased from in different sizes I'd much appreciate links.

    How's the durability of the glue? It seems like with repeated zipping the pieces would come off. Thinking about doing this for a sleeping bag but the super glue gives me pause...

    • @PorcelainCactus
      @PorcelainCactus ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought the same. I used super glue once and one wash was all it took to fall apart. If you want something washable and hard wearing you can try Aleen's OK To Wash, glue. Not sure how well it works with metal though.

    • @sewandtellaustralia

      Every now and then I have them fall off, but it's usually if I haven't let it set properly. Otherwise they have been really good.

    Νιce but this type of ziper cost no more than 2 maybe 3 euros? If you have to repair one, you can spend less time to change it, right?

      I'm wanting to add a box stop and pin (exactly what was shown in this video) to make a long separating zip that has to be an exact length.
      I can't buy the length of zip that I require (I have hunted all over the internet and in stores) so this video is wonderful for me.
      I'm making a clothing item that zips around at the hip/waist to join the top and bottom pieces together so the length of the zip has to be exact, a roll of zipper tape allows me get the exact length I'll need but I have to add the box stop and pin to that tape myself.
