Best oasis track for me. Not only the lyrics and Noel's voice but the instrumentation. There are many quality layers of guitars 'talking to each other' with such a great tone.

To be fair, every album that isnt "Whats the Story (Morning Glory)?" is underrated lol Oasis has so many amazing songs people never heard of.....what a sad existence for them lol
Liam is pretty funny in this (and Sunday Morning Call), loving his new piano role! This song should really find a way into a Flying Birds setlist soon.
@@mikhailkill I agree. Its an absolute shame that no one talks about the song at all. Even from Standing on The Shoulder of Giants, they always mention Go Let It Out, Gas Panic!,etc but this is one of Noel's best work vocally and lyrically. Maybe they should have gone for a acoustic route rather than a rock route.
It's amazing how Noel Gallagher can make some beautiful music with melancholic lyrics that everyone one can relate to. Is one my favorite Oasis tunes (Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants and Dig Out Your Soul), is my favorite Oasis records of 2000's.
I was born in 1999, and this was always one of those songs that I vaguely remembered throughout the years, without knowing what it was or where I heard it. Considering when it was released, hearing this song on the radio or something was one of the first memories I ever made.
I don't care what "music experts" say. No other band can give me the feeling that I felt when I heard "he sits in the corner all alone, he lives under a waterfall, nobody can see him nobody can ever hear him call" part for the first time. OASIS IS THE GREATEST BAND EVER!
A reflective song that points to the future reflective material in Noel's solo career. I think this album is the gallagher brother's first taste of adulthood's realities, that the world is not so easily conquered when you're young. These days I find the brother's solo material more relatable than Oasis's material as an adult, and I think the journey from Oasis to now is sort of like growing up for real. You think you're gonna go out there and conquer the world as youth (oasis first 3 albums), only to realize how ugly and unjust it truly is, and then you try to move on from your mistakes and find a way forward (the latter oasis albums, beady eye, the solo careers). Nonetheless, its nice to put on Definitely maybe/morning/glory/be here now to remember days gone by, when all the world seemed for the taking....
I see it differently - its less simple. Some songs from the first 3 albums do that fit the criteria of immaturity. But theres more. These songs have much deeper meanings. A better impression to take is the 'rush of fame' the Gallagher's got. Let me explain: Supersonic, Live Forever, Morning Glory and All Around the World, all from the opening 6 years do have that feel that you said - the world is conquered. But thats ignoring songs from those same albums - Champagne Supernova or an anthem like DLBIA which themselves have much deeper undertones, and are more mature songs. Another example being, d'yer wanna be a spaceman (1994) which tries to deal with the reality that adulthood is here to stay and theres no going back, something most can all relate too. Other b-sides from this era including Flashbax feel like they belong more in the 2000 release SOTSOG, than any other album before it. That's because after the sudden rush of fame from 1994-97, both Noel and Liam had so much to cope with, not just as a band, but as individuals and brothers. That's why there relationship fell apart long term. But this shock initially hit them like a brick wall and you can tell that through Noel's writing. By 2000, both brothers are having to cope with addictions - huge parts of their lives - and I think its fair to say the depression of all it. Noel's lowest point was at the turn of the century when he wrote these songs. Thats why songs of the SOTSOG era are "so depressing". They're actually cries for help in a way, but dealing with the old, and new problems of life in an adult, strong and mature way. One way road, Roll it Over, Sunday Morning Call, Carry us all, Let's all Make Believe and Gas Panic are the best examples of this.
Im going to say it, this is the greatest song oasis ever did, everything about it is perfect, if it was released earlier in their career this would be considered an all time classic

Antonio Rafael They graced us with their awesome music. Who knows what they would be if they were still kicking it today in 2017? Sometimes things only last a short while but they leave such a legacy! Look at the Beatles, Queen, not very long careers but everybody knows their music and the legacies they left behind! Who doesn't forget people like John Lennon, Freddie Mercury? Oasis was a huge part of the 90's early 2000's. I like to consider them as the modern Beatles, their style and influences are obviously influenced by the Beatles.
Black keys haha oasis are the best there is ,the best there was , and the best there will ever be , from start to finish they smashed every band around them and especially there live performances, as you where x

Such an underrated song. Feels like a first taste of the High Flying Birds, a massively underrated project of Noel's.
