My Dad introduced me to this record in the late 90's on casettte, and in the 2000's I bought the CD. I fell in love with music thanks to Oasis and this album in particular. It spoke to me as a working class kid from a lower middle class upbringing. It was and remains relatable as a man from that background, that lifestyle, and the songs do a great job of capturing all of those emotions a young man goes through on his journey through life and in the throes of trying to figure out their career and leave behind a legacy. Noel did just that. And I don't think I could ever thank him enough for it.
Of course I grew up with Nevermind, but I was about 6 years old when this album came out, and I remember my parents buying the cassette and listening to it in our truck as we moved furniture into our new house. Out of every album I've ever listened to, THIS one specifically takes me back to the time I heard it in. 1995-1999 were just the greatest years for me.
There is definitely more separation in the mix, insane clarity in Liam's voice and I think more reverb helps with this. It's definitely my favourite album not only on the strength of the song writing but also the feelings it evokes.

"Don't Look Back in Anger" was a real revelation. Hearing the strings in the left ear really added a lot to the song. It's similar to hearing the strings in DYKWIM in Noel's mix. Really brought the song to life and not just a mass of noise. However, not everything in your mix is a resounding success. I think the reverb is not totally necessary in "Hello" or "Some Might Say." It's a little excessive and should be toned down a bit. Noel's leading guitar when the band comes in on "Some Might Say" was also buried, and remains so throughout the song in the right ear, sounding way too distant. It's a classic tune, and that guitar hook is crucial to that. Instead, you pushed it way too far. If the volume was raised, the song would sound incredible. The elevation of the background vocals was superbly done, although that bit at the end of "Hello" just sounds awful when there's clarity. It's a part better left buried in my opinion. I also agree that the guitar wah needed to be mixed higher and louder. Just more aggressive. Other than that, this mix is close to an ideal remix and proper remastering of the album one could hope for. It elevates the artistry of the album rather than a loud bloated mess. Sure, that's part of the appeal, but when there's so many interesting things going on, one wishes to hear them. Just listen to Noel's remix of DYKWIM. Just amazing what he was able to do with that song. Imagine BHN with that same remixing done. Or DM and WTSMG. Here we have something that's probably about 75% of the way there. With the advancements in technology, some real magic is possible. Bringing new clarity and breathing new life into these songs by letting us finally hear what was buried since original release. To me, it's worthwhile, even if Noel and his engineer/s feel it would be sacrilegious to do so. 🤷♂

Cast No Shadow almost made me shed a couple of tears. It's a song only working class men can truly understand in my view. I tended to party a little too hard on the weekends and 97-98 was when I started getting hangovers. It's ok, its a nice alternative I suppose, but anyone who really thinks that this is better than the original is not quite getting what Oasis were about, they were loud, brash, raw and in yer face, this mix has dimmed that massive wall of guitar sound that Oasis were best known for and added a ton of reverb on the vocals, thats it, cool if you like that, but thats not the true Oasis sound, in the words of NoWaysis you can't beat the real thing lol......

But I would just assume this to be a common tool for most people out there. Found some mixes I forgot I had on maxi cds from the '90s and some that came in cardboard casing too, and these were some versions of songs I hadn't heard in a decade+.... But anyway, I'm sure you could download this or simply record the audio with audacity or something, break the tracks up, save it in .flac format and then burn it to a CD. voila. but maybe I'm missing something to the equation here....
oh, I do want to agree 100% with you about the original mix. I had taken my dad's copy of Definitely, Maybe from his CD collection and played it out by the time this came out, but I think I probably played this one even more because by the time I listened to it once, I was just in full-fledged Oasis fandom that would last a long time, and then go into hibernation for awhile, probably until about the time Liam was forming Beady Eye or they had just put out the video for The Roller and Oasis had been broken up for a minute.... I began to re-listen to ALL of their albums, including the ones that turned me off to them for awhile which I now find certain tracks from to be amazing. I guess I was just living in this nostalgia world where I wanted every album to sound like this one, with the production of Definitely, Maybe. I also had some issues with the production on Be Here Now despite really like it, but that's nor here or now. When I went back and started listening to a lot of stuff I had missed the first time around--b-sides, demos that had since leaked to the net, random early work I had never heard before.... but a lot of the first three albums and demos from those periods. I realized how insane the guitars were on this album compared to Definitely, Maybe. BHN had some noise issues too, but I guess I didn't mind because it felt like it went with the album better. Until I found this upload, heard the first few tracks, and had though Oasis released the best remaster I have ever heard. And then I saw it was a fan-made mix and was in awe. Most of the noise has gone, the sound has more depth and you can finally hear the full drum set and bass. Producer Neil Dorfsman did a great job. I really appreciate the time and work you put into this. thanks for posting, I really enjoyed this despite the little YT compression. Cheers from Chile!
I love oasis! Whats the story morning glory was one of my first CD's I ever bought. For a few weeks ago I read in an article that oasis only was considered average and not a really great band with wonderfull music as I find it. It made me sad and irritated angry. Please say you love oasis too ...
I imagine if I read that article, I would of been pissed off as well. Don't waste a minute being sad regarding an article. It's just an option. Oasis music is authentic and people get confused. It's only Rock n Roll. And I like it.
Cont. "What's the Story". Is a perfect album... All tracks are brilliant. I get positive messages in life, that I forget and I'm reminded when I listen. It's a beautiful album. Here's a couple of replies darling. The other at this moment in time. Mojo and 5he other 666. We know. LoL
Who was the article written by? Some no-name, hack, failed-musician with a grudge no doubt. WTSMG is the 5th best-selling album of all time in the UK (3rd if you don't count Greatest Hits). It's follow-up album, Be Here Now, was the fastest-selling UK album at the time, and only lost out to Adele for the top spot, though downloadable music has an advantage over CDs and Records. That is quite a fete considering the amount, and calibre, of amazing bands to come out of there: Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Rolling Stones, Motorhead, The Sex Pistols, Cream, The Who, Stone Roses, Iron Maiden, Genesis, The Police, Joy Division/New Order, Queen, Dire Straits, The Cure, etc - and Oasis can stand with any of them. No-one could touch Oasis in the late 90s. Biggest band in the world, but they just weren't as big in the US (despite having good album sales and sold-out arena gigs) as they were literally everywhere else, especially: UK, Europe, South America, Australia and East Asia. Only U2 could rival them and U2 hasn't really had the same longevity and quality of songs (they have some amazing songs though but I think Oasis' songs are far better).
One thing I would change is making the guitar more "driving" and raw. Very clean which has a pro to it but Oasis sounds the best raw. The one thing I really am impressed with are the vocals. Liam sounds better on this mix than any other mix I've heard. reverb is actually great too! Amazing job!
Without a doubt one off the best albums ever possibly the best every tune is brilliant top band real. Geezers love liams swagger on stage just a pitty noel and Liam can't perform together anymore oasis we're massive but the music stands the test off time iconic brittish band the voice off a generation in the nintees
Amazing how much of the resolution improves the quality even behind the digital downsample of youtube. There's a bunch of other sounds in there. Space.
Thank you, absolutely love this! The one thing I always disliked about Oasis and especially this album is that there's just so little detail to be heard and everything sounds muddy but this is great
The soundtrack to some of my first ever memories. I always found it a shame that Alan White was such a talented drummer, using incredible gear and really expensive microhphones and his drums were squashed to a pulp in the mix/master. They sound great here. Guigsy (or Noel)'s bass is really punchy too. Great job.

All Oasis albums should be remixed, at least the first four. Too bad that this SACD is long out of print. Sony/Epic should re-release it.
thanks for sharing this album!
Wow mate, good job you did
This mix of Cast No Shadow is significantly better.
Wow, this is a real improvement for the original version...
HOLY SHIT, I CAN HEAR A KICK DRUM IN THESE MIXES!!! 🤯
I really appreciate the time and work you put into this. thanks for posting, I really enjoyed this despite the little YT compression. Cheers from Chile!
magnificent. great job here.
Don't look back in anger sounds incredible
Holy shit, there’s a handclap in some might say 🤯
good job on bringing out all the jangle!
An interesting listen. Some interesting little guitar parts. The start of morning glory has a great little guitar part.
Love this mix, somehow there is more separation and clarity in the mix. Nice reverb on Liam's vocal
Crystal clear, great job. 👍
Many thanks Janet newport !!! Love ❤️ 😍 u.!!! UR MY FAVOURITE PERSOMN!! SONGS SO RELEVANT !!! ❤❤❤❤❤😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
This is blowing my mind. Some Might Say sounds like a different song now
amazing sound
I love oasis! Whats the story morning glory was one of my first CD's I ever bought. For a few weeks ago I read in an article that oasis only was considered average and not a really great band with wonderfull music as I find it. It made me sad and irritated angry. Please say you love oasis too ...
Amazing!
We know. LoL
I love Oasis too!!!!
I need to find that cut part on 11:42, I *need* to hear it.
All that is is the intro to supersonic
Yeah I missed it too
One thing I would change is making the guitar more "driving" and raw. Very clean which has a pro to it but Oasis sounds the best raw. The one thing I really am impressed with are the vocals. Liam sounds better on this mix than any other mix I've heard. reverb is actually great too! Amazing job!
Simply GORGEOUS! god bless you.
mezcla sublime... por que nunca me entere de esta version del disco??? perfecta... todo bien definido
I think I love you for posting this
Without a doubt one off the best albums ever possibly the best every tune is brilliant top band real.
Space.
Please do this with Definitley maybe and Be Here Now!!!
thats so cool to hear
Superb mixing Mr Creator
Good they reunited!
Thank you, absolutely love this! The one thing I always disliked about Oasis and especially this album is that there's just so little detail to be heard and everything sounds muddy but this is great
Wow, this is such a wonderful mix, thank you!
Yes please we need a cleaner version of BHN.
This is like hearing a demo vs the master…except the master is the demo in this case
Cast No Shadow it's awesome
Champagne supernova with this mix is great 👍
Los graves son más poderosos, se escucha claramente el pandero de Liam. Aplausos por este mix
I'm glad you liked it.
Incredible sounds coming through in this... a new perspective to most of the songs. When will there be a Deffo Maybe version?
Siempre vuelvo a este álbum y me encanta, es biblical.
Gracias por la mezcla tan buena, podrías hacerla con "Be Here Now" please, thank you.
Great job.
flawless album, any song could be the best
Dont look back in anger is just a masterpiece but this really makes it sound more biblical
eargasm. thank you
Youre my Wonderwalllllll 💛
Lindo esse album historico. Maravilhoso. O melhor dos anos 90
Morning Glory... suena como otra canción¡¡¡ estoy locooo con esto¡¡
Bellísimo
