@@aymericmurer56 Oasis are more rocknroll sounding than The Beatles though, The Beatles did mostly psychedelic rock and more pop-y sounding tunes in their earlier days. They only did a few heavier song like Helter Skelter and Revolution. Apart from that they never made straight up guitar blaring rock songs like Oasis mostly did.
This is proof that 2000s Oasis wasn't awful. At all. It's a shame songs like this one aren't more widely known... Oasis definitely changed as their lineup evolved in the 2000s, and Liam's voice wasn't so great, but this is exactly the kind of badass rock and roll music that made them special
Facts, the more I listen to early 2000s Oasis the more I realise the myth of Oasis being bad in the 2000s. The golden days were obviously the 90s but they made many great songs in this era too.
They weren't bad at all. Heathen Chemistry is an underrated, and way-overhated album. "Don't Believe The Truth" is one of my favourite Oasis albums. They were great, and got much more Lennon-y/Beatle-y, which I think a lot of Oasis fan's don't really understand.

I'm Canadian and feel UK bands have often been disrespected in North America when it comes to airplay. I was there for the '90s but I'm only learning some great '70s-'80s UK bands in recent years because all we ever get here is crappy '80s hair bands.
How massive was this song when it came out, Radio 1 (UK) was all over it and even did a phone-in thing where listeners would sing the chorus of this song down the phone. This song was hugely uplifting compared to the grunge and metal that was swirling around secondary school at the time, only a few bands can sing a "kick up the arse" down your earphones. Forever grateful of the band and the music!!

Loved this song live on the Heathen Chemistry tour! It sounded epic at Finsbury Park in 2002!! I remember hearing it for the first time in the 10 years of noise and confusion gig in Manchester Apollo, when they debuted 2 new songs This and Hung In A Bad Place. I knew instantly it was going to be a classic!

@@kaori_kanzaki ben de Oasis videolarında Türk yorumuna rastlayınca mutlu oluyorum. Çünkü ülkedeki rock dinleyicileri genelde Amerikan grupları tercih ediyormuş gibi geliyor bana. Özellikle 90'lar için. Grunge, Britpop'a oranla çok daha popüler.
Yine de birkaç sene öncesine göre daha çok duyuyorum Oasis adını. Liam'ın da Noel'in de albüm çıkarmaları, Supersonic belgeseli, Liam'ın konsere gelmesi falan popülariteyi arttırdı tabi. Mutluluk verici :)
@@gorukmezadam9674 dediğin çok doğru maalesef, Amerikan gruplar daha popüler burada. Benim için durum tam tersi Amerikan grupları çok özenti geliyor Tool, Sonic Youth ve Ramones hariç. İngiliz gruplar daha orijinal ve özgün işler yapıyorlar. Bu da Amerikan hayranlığımızın bir göstergesi sanırım. Hatta daha kötüsü saçma sapan rap müziği kadar değer görmüyor böyle kaliteli rock müzik grupları.
Mesela Nirvana yı al incele orijinal hiçbir tarafı yok. Punk alt yapılı, Sonic Youth ve Bauhaus un sound ını çalmış çoğu şarkısında Kurt Cobain bey =) ama gel gör ki bizimkilere sorsan Nirvana yı öve öve bitiremezler.
Liam bu sene İstanbul'a geldi de gidemedik neyse :(
