I think it was seen as too much of a departure at the time. Nowadays i view it as having some high peaks, this one included, but also two or three valleys. Youve certainly got half a brilliant album here.
People just got bored of them. They didn’t really change their sound that much, over the first four albums, so it kind of felt that even though the music was great, you’d heard it all before? That’s certainly how people felt about Oasis in the early 2000s.
I agree I think it’s a great album. Put your money where your mouth is and Little James are the only low points for me (still don’t skip them though 😀) Bass on this album is proper.
DU IN yup. I think Noel had an impact for the album. Since Bonehead and Guigsy quit from Oasis, Noel has taken all of the recording of the rhythm guitar and bass in Standing on the Shoulder of Giants. So, that album is the Noel's work for entirely😂😂😂
Lenny Henry you must know, Paul Stacey is just an additional personel, not the Oasis' official member. Noel is also works as a producer on the album, despite Mark "Spike" Stent is work as a main producer. The impact as a producer is more bigger to make the perfect album. But I say that Paul Stacey is a badass additional personel I've ever seen😂😂
Of course i know that, i've worked with Paul Stacey before. I was simply stating that he did a lot of work with Noel on that album and played a lot of the parts on the album too. Stacey come up with some of the bass lines and guitar parts for some of the songs. He also played a fair bit of the lead guitar on Noel's solo albums, which Noel often mentions.

Gotta admit, I had never heard this oasis song before, and then was just watching the new Netflix documentary Countdown, which includes this song, and I didn’t even have to look up who the song was by, just because the way the song itself sounds, and the singers voice, I knew it was oasis lol. They just have such a distinct sound that id recognize it anywhere, even not already having heard the song before.
I was living in London by the time it came out, it was a great time for me, i could hear that tune about ten times a day on xFM. Stunning track, love this band !
My oldest brother was 14 when the music video came out and that's how he got introduced to Oasis' music. Ever since that day he has been a fan of them. He's now 34 and I'm 23. I grew up listening to them because of him and this song feels really nostalgic.

Fue una experiencia increíble, aunque si me asusté un momento al final del concierto por la cantidad de gente y el lugar tan grande, me desubiqué espacialmente, no sabía por donde era la salida, pero obviamente solo tenía que seguir a todo el mundo! Ahora recuerdo que en 2009 también vinieron a Venezuela pero no los pude ver en ese momento, igual ya no era lo mismo, les había perdido un poco la pista. Los estoy reencontrando de nuevo este año acordándome de ese concierto y toda esa época! Que tiempos aquellos! :D

Fue en el campo de Polo, era un festival de varios días, muchas bandas, ese dia ellos eran la atracción principal, tomé unas fotos que no se ven jajaja todavía usaba cámara de rollo, pero allí estuve, sola pero fue genial!!!! YO VI A OASIS!!!! XD

Q raro q no te quedaste traumada con ese festival xD Bueno ahora podes decir: "vi a Oasis y sobrevivi al festival en el campo de Polo" xD. El ultimo en Sudamerica fue en 2009. Hay un video del recital en el Monumental, en Bs As, con el q me castigo seguido. =D
Traumada nunca! Fue una experiencia increíble, aunque si me asusté un momento al final del concierto por la cantidad de gente y el lugar tan grande, me desubiqué espacialmente, no sabía por donde era la salida, pero obviamente solo tenía que seguir a todo el mundo! Ahora recuerdo que en 2009 también vinieron a Venezuela pero no los pude ver en ese momento, igual ya no era lo mismo, les había perdido un poco la pista. Los estoy reencontrando de nuevo este año acordándome de ese concierto y toda esa época! Que tiempos aquellos! :D

I lived the late 80s and through the 90s sonny jim, you missed out bigtime there hasn't been a musical movement since Britpop I feel sorry for the young team but you've got good taste that's all that matters now.

@@metallica_fan7990 spot on mate, I genuinely feel sorry for the younger generation there's nothing that they'll be able to look back on in 20-30 years and say that was a legendary time for music. My sister is only 24 and she loves old music because she was brought up listening to it and she can't stand the current crop of music "artists" stick to your guns pal you're on the right track.
@@PaulieD1984 Yeah, but at least we still get some good bands though! Metallica, Slipknot, new ones as well! Such as Royal Blood, I think my generation’s music artist (such as myself) will have the era of rock with only 2 band members in the band.

After the second album, this and 'Fkin in the bushes' are the only Oasis tracks I can remember. Bass is great on this one.
