  • Dear lord, this level is full of s... nevermind.
    Here's the Sega exclusive level 'Intestinal Distress!' and the last 'Andy Asteroids?' level where I was more careful than before because I wanted a good start for the Buttville descent.

    Friendly reminder that Dr. Duodenum doesn't return to the series afterwards this stage.
    Not in EWJ2, not in EWJ3, not in the series, not even other media.
    Like, Jim actually killed that guy.

      Incorrect, it was a last minute licensing deal with Sega that prevented this being in the SNES version - but it literally only prevented it being in the *SNES* version, it would later appear on the Windows version and even the GBA and DSi versions.

    Hard to believe there was a point in time when Genesis fans wanted Super NES Earthworm Jim owners to feel bad since we couldn't experience this one extra level. This was quite the hot topic for a short period in the mid 90's. Funny because the level can be completed in less than 3 minutes so we're really only missing 3 minutes of entertainment. I think I enjoy the music more than the level itself!

    • @pollo20x6
      @pollo20x6 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I still prefer the genesis version over the snes because of this level. It could be over in 1 minute, it's still an extra level, which to me is more content. I've only played through the snes version once and never again. I had no idea they cut it out.

    • @Burn_Angel
      @Burn_Angel 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +pollo20x6 They had cut it because the space on the Snes cartirdge wasn't enough for the entire game, taking in mind the colours, the sprites, the voices, etc. Also, they had compressed the instruments for the music to get more space, making them sound bad compared to other games on the same console. Because even that wasn't enough to get enough space, well, goodbye Intestinal Distress for the Snes. I like Genesis version not only because of this level, but for other reasons that the Snes wasn't capable to do but the Genesis could, like better move engine and wider screen, allowing the player to move Jim better and letting see more space on the level.
