theres actually a good reason & cause for it, O think its to avoid not monetizing your projects or when you have to monetize your projects you don't have to stress about it
Maybe good for beginners. But not people that are thinking of switching to studio one. I’m a reason user and was ready to familiarize myself with the Daw to see if it fit. I also downloaded FL studio and Reaper to try and it’s unlimited and free lifetime updates. FL is looking better to me personally over studio one because of that. They should at least make it fully functional for a period of time as opposed to disabling 3rd party vsts @@egegulkaya2525
You can’t monetize anything with stock supplies? It’s 2020. There are plenty of DAWs that don’t do that such as Fruity Loops and Reaper. They might’ve had a customer if they didn’t do that. I already have REASON 11 suite. I can do without studio one. I wanted to try it out but that was a turn off. Like they don’t believe in their platform enough. @@newtroninquiries7536
I've been using Studio One Pro in my studio for quite some time and absolutely love it. I needed something basic and powerful for my laptop, for simply compiling speech wavs in the field when I found this. I wasn't even aware Presonus made a free DAW so this is not only going to be perfect but, familiar!!!! None of the limitations are going to affect my project. Thanks for this video! SOLD! And Presonus does it again!!!
Thanks very much for approaching this topic regarding Studio One's limitations thoroughly. I'm a musician, singer and songwriter and have just started using it. Probably because of the instructional videos provided, I found S1 to be more comprehensive to use, though I'm still learning, believe me. I was a bit concerned when you mentioned using S1 with an audio interface--I too have a Behringer but not as many inputs and outputs. I've always wanted to record my songs so doing this via computer is very new to me. Thanks again!
Thx for this video, straight to the point and very well explanations! And poeple remember this is just a taste, if you want more support Presonus by buying a licence. They are not that expensive
Yes. The Artist version is pretty good by itself and I believe under 100 bucks. I honestly would prefer Studio One Artist than Reaper. I demo'd Reaper way back and it's not fit for my workflow. It makes me slow. I have S1 Artist as a back up DAW if ever I have problems with my mains which are Pro Tools and Ableton Live Suite DAW. It's always good to have backups so work keeps going. :)
@@ishsantos9375 That' rigth, nice idea and great mindset. I never could love reaper either:)

Do you have a video explaining a major differences between Artist and Professional version? Or, could you point me out to any other YT video that has a nice explanation of a topic? Thx for this one though! I appreciate a lot! :)
thank you so much i bought the positive grid spark amp for practice and it came with it free adn the main perpose for me using this is to record ideas i am only goin to record about maybe 6 tracks i’m mainly goin to use drums guitar and bass and of course a lead guitar so this was so helpful to me as i’m trying to get used to it so i’m goin to have fun with this software and i also hit subscribe i will definitely be watching your videos
Hey man. I'm in the same situation. Have the spark for 3 months now and started to use the other features of the amp like the USB connection. It's a very useful amp for beginners and this video helped to understand how it works.
Thank you so much for this explanation. Just got a Presonus StudioLive 16 track mixer/interface for our band three weeks ago and I have no experience with recording and editing and mixing yet. I've been using the included Studio One Artist License on my tablet to record our band sessions and been trying to use Studio One Prime on my Desktop to mix them at home, but I didn't find most of the functions I needed/wanted in Prime, causing me to revert to my tablet, but editing/mixing on a tiny 10" Tablet SUCKS, especially when you have two have two 27" monitors in front of you. Guess I should either try recording with the Capture software on the tablet and transfer my Studio One Artist activation over to my Desktop, or ask my bandmates if one of them would forfeit his activation so I could have two, cause the license we got with the interface can be activated on five devices and we're five dudes...
Thanks for a straightforward, informative video. Your comment about adding third-party VSTs got my eye. I recently purchased Studio One 4 Pro and ran into a problem adding guitar modeling software programs.Although it initially recognized Amplitube 5 if won't recognize Guitar Rig or GTR3.5. All of these are properly installed and functioning as a stand alone program on my computer. I followed the instructions for adding VSTs by entering the path to the folders in their Preferences menu, but it still doesn't recognize it. I was hoping by buying the Pro I could bypass a lot of these types of issues, but admittedly, I am a newbie to the program. Do you have any other videos or suggestions that might help address this?
Thanks. I'm a beginner and struggling to find the tempo icon (for setting up variable tempo) my windows version does not show the icon in top left/lower menu. Any clues please?
Sir, pls guide me how to master a song in prime edition. Your videos help me a lot , but this is the point that I want to clarify. Mr S. Sankli from Meghalaya India
I use a Behringer X Air R18. This software doesn't allow more than two simultaneous inputs. They show up in the I/O list but you can not arm them. I have tried everything! I just use Tracktion (free at Behringer and totally compatible with this mixer) to get all the tracks to PC then I load them into Studio One Prime 5 and edit away. Presonus dropped the ball on this one
I already detail the limitations, including what you mention in this video. Watching the video would have saved you time trying to work it out. Waveform Free by Tracktion as well as Cakewalk by Bandlab are your alternative DAWs to use with multi-inputs.
@@RecordingStudio9Thank you for responding I'm using a slightly old IMac about 2009 with and outdated OS so I'm not sure the latest version of studio one with be able to work on my iMac. Can it??
While you're at it, to make your music, why not steel a guitar and a drum set, couple of microphones, a nice Moog synth. Then, you can spend 24 hours recording, mixing and mastering your song and we all download for free from a pirate web site instead of buying your song or listening on Spotify. Hello. That is very important to know, thank you very much. Question: So I can't upgrade studio one 5 prime?
Yes, you can upgrade to ver 6 prime. But watch my video on ver 6 prime as it has more limitations than ver 5, depending on your needs.
Thank you for the info!
Any time!
Isnt there any way to use direct web system like fl studio?

Hi I've got no Presonus and no Presence in my Instrument list - what went wrong?
You r doing a great thing bro
is it support windows 8?
This was awesome! Gracias sir

Yes. Limitations help you learn faster.

Mr S. Sankli from Meghalaya India
Here is the video explaining. th-cam.com/video/0Fgdh0p1kEg/w-d-xo.html
any knows if pipeline is in this version available,i try to put in the fx but doesnt work (no open plugin window)????
Pipeline only available in the PRO edition. Watch the video for PRIME edition limitations.
@@RecordingStudio9 yeaah i saw it ,thanks for the infoo...btw do you know a alternative for a pipeline stereo??,thankss.
@@jill4in Not for PRIME edition.
The first was enough brother thank you so much...Guess am back to using the difficult mf cakewalk!!!
What type of VST were you planning to use with Studio One?
Yeah not having access to all the vst’s I’ve compiled over the years kinda sucks because I do like the recording and editing aspects of studio one...
Artist edition is affordable and version 5 now supports vst.
@@RecordingStudio9 is it true does it supports vst instruments in studio one free version?
No VST support in Prime free edition. You need Artist edition or Professional edition.

So helpful
is there any limitation for number of recording in prime ?like 30days or 60hrs
No time limit. No VST and missing most of the native plug-ins.
Is the plug in bundle in your link compatible with studio one 3 prime??
Possibly, but why not upgrade to the latest version 5 for free, then it will be 100% compatible.
@@RecordingStudio9Thank you for responding I'm using a slightly old IMac about 2009 with and outdated OS so I'm not sure the latest version of studio one with be able to work on my iMac. Can it??
Check the OS requirements on PreSonus website.
0:48 Welp, I'mma head out.
Then try Cakewalk by Bandlab or Waveform Free by Tracktion
Then what version that isn't so expensive gives me the abillity to use third party plugins? And atr least gives me Mai Tai and Impact?
Version 5 Artist edition now supports any VST
@@RecordingStudio9 it still gives me Mai Tai And Impact?
@@Pianoandguitarplaywr Yes. See here www.presonus.com/products/Studio-One/compare-versions
does anybody know if this has keyswitch articulation facility?
Yes, it does. Though no 3rd party VST, but some instrument sounds in PresenceXT might use it.
Very informative. Cheerio.
Glad it was helpful!
So does it support AAX if not VST plagins
AAX is only for Pro Tools, so no.
@@RecordingStudio9 what about AU
No 3rd party plugins are supported with the free PRIME edition.
Can I record on this app, like my voice?
Yes.
Gratefully thank you for letting me know that it's not worth my time.
Thanks! I will download cracked version of studio one.
Rly, No VST?

I just wanted the pad sampler lol
So it's basically GarageBand?
Prime edition is bit more limited than GarageBand, but basically, yes.
I don't trust 3rd party VST downloads. They often come with bugs. I only use what's loaded into Presonus
Is it unlimited export file?
Yes, no limit on how many projects and exports to .WAV or .MP3
1:12 thx for the info...i'm out!
“You cannot install different instrument sounds”

It actually comes with Presence XT VST Instrument with lots of great virtual instrument sounds, including drums, synths and more.
found it...
wow, some people want to get it for free and still have the audasity to complain.
no 3rd party plugins means its fn useless!
So basically, prime is garbage. Thank you.
This depends on your use and expectations of a free software.
