Hey, Joe, I've already been using all these (probably learned from Gregor!). I have one additional one I use almost every day: HISTORY. I have that mapped to (on PC) Alt+End. Has saved my neck and everything else numerous times. It helps me see what I've actually done and cuts time from doing Ctrl+Z over and over and over.
"You smell what I'm stepping in"?😂😂😂 Not only are your videos extremely informative, but the comedic elements involved really increases the bang for the. Please keep up the great work!!!
When I finally explored the plug in manager and hid things like the component and VST instances of certain collections, so I just saw the VST3s and didn’t have 3 of each in the browser. Man that cleaned things up.
Thank you for this video, I was doing everything the hard way and it was taking forever. Plus I was trying to make loops on my Akai Mini and to me as a noob, it's been a pain in the butt .
Great list! Would be stellar if auto save was only triggered *IF* something changed 😅 Nothing like walking away from Studio One overnight and having a ton of auto saves to wade through when restoring an older version.
True! Although to restore an old version you'd usually go into the History tab, right? While the autosave ends up in the main project folder. (At least that's how it works with my setup.)
Hi Joe I’ve been watching u since I started using studio 1 in 2019 and I have learned so much 👏👏luv what u do. I hope u can help me out with a problem I’m having,I’ve been sending songs to my bro for years but recently when I send a track he is not receiving any piano/ synth tracks.. ie missing files at his end. Do u have any ideas that I can do to solve this problem. Thanks Scott
Hi Joe greetings from Dublin Ireland.. big fan of your posts .. quick question on the project page when I’m mastering not all of my plug-ins are showing on the list . Can I access plug in manager from the project page ? I’m sure it’s possible just can’t seem to find it .. cheers
Hey Joe! I love your videos. Thanks! I'm new to PreSonus and would like to also know some more basic things on the hardware side of things, like setting up Mics, Which mic to use, and one that I'm even embarrassed to say. . . How do I make the guitar and vocals play in my headphones while recording drums? I.E. I have vocals and guitar recorded, now I want to layer /add drums and listen to the guitar and vocals while recording the drums. Any advise or help you could give on this?
In addition to my composing activities, I narrate a LOT of audiobooks....and in that regard I get hired to do a LOT of thrillers and mysteries (some Sc-Fi) and all of that material can sometimes be quite "dark". So...thanks for the tip on the luminance setting...I am going to try that setting and see if I can make the mayhem and violence a bit more cheerful...🤣...no, seriously, I DO like that setting. I have "old" eyes....(b.1943).
re: autosave - I use that, but I also have my system on a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) so power dropouts are not an issue. re: the undo feature, how many steps can be undone? Are they saved between sessions?
These are all fantastic! There's just one bug with the Retrospective Recording feature that causes me a lot of headaches. It's an indispensable tool and I use it all the time while tracking, but it tends to leave little micro recordings between takes. When I'm finished recording and need to edit, I spend 5 to 10 minutes deleting these split-second fragments. They're usually silent, but every now and then they have a little transient info which leads to pops and clicks. Meaning I have to go through them all to make sure I don't miss any. It's clearly a bug. The fragments shouldn't exist in the arranger, since I'm recording over them. But in a session where I'm dropping in small takes, it happens constantly and adds a ton of extra editing work... Does anyone else have this issue?
Hello, Somehow my studio one files are now imaging devices files and I cant open them in studio one. Does anyone know how to restore the files back to studio one files please
Hi, this isn't necessary unless you're working with huge Orchestral templates featuring Virtual Instrument Presets that don't change much throughout the composition. -GBY
On point number 2 (ask to copy external files) I wish PreSonus would give us the option to create, and very importantly 'not create a new folder' when creating a new project file. In other words, we create our own folder and then save our project file inside it. I receive files for each and every song I work on and I can't overstate the frustration of having to move those files manually into the project folder each and every time just because Studio One creates a folder for each project. Studio One automatically copying the files (the time it takes to copy and deleting the double files) is not the most efficient way of doing this. Please PreSonus give us the option to not create a new folder when creating a new project.
It would be an incredible value add if Presonus could add Ableton-style modulation capabilities. It really shouldn’t be that difficult of a thing to add

I need a setting that tells me: "Yo, your guitar is out of tune again ... fix that" or " nah, Bad Take, man... try again" -- Thanks Joe !
Joe, you are funny as hell. Makes your tutorials so enjoyable.
Number 4 I did not know about, and is something I've always wanted!! And it's been right there the whole time??! Thank you!!
Ask to copy external files is a great setting. It isn’t default but I don’t know why
Well, it will also save files you’ve removed from the session, it’s quite a pain in the backside.

Hello, coincidentally I am installing Studio One Hybrid, I have decided to change from Cubase to Studio one
When you are working with pitch corrections, audiobooks, setting the auto backup to 1 minute is better than 5 minutes is twice as safe.
Lol. And true
Good Stuff. Always informative and always funny. You are the master of helping remember stuff because you make it so funny.
That rift you did was Epic!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Great tips. Thanks again Joe!
good teaching 🤝

Oh, my…undo - is most greatest feature that I’ve seen! Hopes, another DAW’s realize that super-mighty feature!👻

Damn I needed all of these tips especially the first 2 👍 thanks
4 is great! Great trick 🔥🔥
pre-record a full minute before the punch? amazing! is there a performance hit, or is storage the only consideration?

Would you turn on used cashes plug-in data on save????

How do i set up the look of my faders etc in a new song and have it the same way the next time i open a new song?
Should automatically do it if you hit apply
i would be happy id S1 just worked properly the last update is crashing my pc, it locks up ,certain plugins i cant use anymore...horrible
I lost files because I didn't save it that way. How can we find files again?
You should have your computer on a UPS(battery backup) so that if the power guys or you are covered.
It's a laptop, so I don't need it.
I'm still waiting for S1 to come out with a Talent Filter. 😂
I really dont like the dark theme I rather the brighter ones. I have a personal Theme that I call "Neblina"(fog in english). I like very much.

ok that auto save didn't work for me and I lost power in the middle of a session and boom nothing saved9and yes that was checked)
dadgum its data (day-tuh) Correct.😀
Strictly speaking, because of its Latin origin - it should be DAAA-ta. (i.e. rhymes with Carter)
Can I do this in Studio One? th-cam.com/users/shortsAp5jlYSp2_M?si=44ZXMH2EXzT_csBX'
Hey presonus... Please give us a postfader insert in all our channels. Asking this one for years.... Please do it atleast in the next update....
Why not just using the mixtool plugin to adjust the gain ?
That would be quite a hassle. Using the fader as usual would be handy and a speedy work flow...
