First escape. Using the money from Ford's buy back program for my 2020 Ford Fusion Plug-in Hybrid. 14 months after recall that said "don't charge or you burst into flames" they offered to buy back the car. Looking forward to my new ride.
Hey Steve, my grandma got it recently because her 2021 Escape got totaled in a crash, and she loves it. I love to learn more features to show her, she is always impressed, thanks for making this video!
You're welcome and hopefully your grandma is ok from the crash. Glad she's loving the new 2023 Escape though! Have her check these videos out to learn more about the tech in her Escape too: Steering Wheel and Cluster: th-cam.com/video/vAMl4DZSegY/w-d-xo.html Sync4 Screen: th-cam.com/video/CePpiA_PMFk/w-d-xo.html
@@CarsWithSteve She actually did do the Sync4 Screen without me asking her to, and yes she's okay just some broken ribs. She understand the cluster screen instantly cause it was similar to the other one.
My dealer told me that the memory buttons (1, 2, 3 for the seat and the mirrors) also remember the adjustments you have made to the head up display. So you can store the preferred vertical height and position for the data on the HUD. The height of the seat will affect your view of the HUD.
Also a good idea is if you can inform whether this escape has puddle lights. I saw few vids at night and when unlocking it everything was pitch black (excluding the headlights of course)
Thanks for your videos, very helpful! I am trying to decide between 2024 Ford Escape ST Elite and 2024 Ford Escape Platinum. I like the sport mode and the "get up and go" of the ST Elite lol -- does the Platinum have the same sport mode? (Are they the same basically except for the design touches like the seats and steering wheel?) Thanks for your help.
You're welcome! They both have the sport mode, the big question you need to ask is if you want the extra design touches of the ST-Line Elite. The red stitching and other interior highlights do give it a bit more of an aggressive look. Which interior do you like the look of more?
@@CarsWithSteve thanks so much for replying! I like the steering wheel of the st line but prefer the beige-y color on the interior roof area that I can get in the platinum vs the black. I don’t like the black wheels of the st. I really like the coast to coast light bar. I like the vapor blue color. I want to get the panoramic roof and premium technology package. My dealer only had the st line to test drive so I haven’t been able to drive the platinum yet. I really liked how the st line had some power to it vs my 2014 escape titanium lol. If the platinum has the same power, I guess I would lean then to the platinum?
anytime! Do you know if the ST-Line was the hybrid or 2.0L? The different trims will handle the same way if they have the same engine! If you like everything about the ST-Line Elite but the wheels.. you could always have a shop hydro dip them to make it a different color
@@CarsWithSteve thank you Steve! It was the 2.0 not hybrid. I haven’t test driven the hybrid yet. Last question if you don’t mind lol 😅😅😅Would one of the hybrid engines have the same “get-up-and-go”-ness turbo power as the 2.0 ecoboost? Thank you!!
The hybrids don't compare power wise to the 2.0L. Horsepower is close but the torque isn't as high in the hybrid so you won't get as much launch but it's still a fun drive
Depends on what you define as better.. Escape has the available hybrid/plugin so you'll get way better mileage but the Edge has a powerful 2.7L turbo in the ST trim. I like power so the Edge ST would be the way I'd go. The Edge would give you more cargo and interior space too. The Escape would be the way to go if you want better fuel economy or a more modern interior. They can tow the same when you get an Escape with the 2.0L turbo
@@CarsWithSteve I bought the 23 Edge titanium and am considering trading for the Escape Platinum with 2.0L. I was looking for a more tech filled vehicle. I do not tow but I had a 2013 Escape and am wondering if the Edge is still a good SUV or if the Escape is more of Fords current future.
Oh tough choice. The Edge is most likely being discontinued after the 2024 model year but Ford still hasn't officially announced that yet. The Escape is built on the same platform as the Maverick and Bronco Sport so I can't see it going away anytime soon. If the Edge is still treating you well I'd hang off for a few years but if you aren't going to take too much of an equity hit it could be worth looking into the Escape
We just received our 2023 Ford Escape hybrid plug-in. It's pretty loaded, I think it has everything but the nice sunroof. I really wish now we had ordered it, but husband didn't even ask me so I lost out there. I am having issues with the "door ajar" alert staying on. We seem to an issue with one of the back doors, which we can take it in for that. Also, when we roll down the passenger side window while driving, something is happening with the screen that's in front of the steering wheel. Things start blinging, the screen blinks with the warning that the passenger door is ajar and then back to seatbelts and then back to passenger door is ajar. When we roll the window up, that stops. But when we start it up to go somewhere, the passenger door ajar warning comes on and stays on. Also, on the steering wheel, I thought I could switch radio channels with those two buttons that look like it's meant for that, but all it does is go from AM to FM to Siriux Radio. It doesn't scan to the next channel on the, for instance, FM dial. I think there's something electrical going on but lucklily it's brand new and I'm sure Mullinax Ford will straighten that out.
The door ajar alert is a new one. You could check out the lock mechanism on the door when it's open to see if it's stuck in place but with it being so new.. I'd say have the dealer figure it out under warranty. It sounds like the cluster message is tied into that door issue so once that's figured out it should go away. You could use the steering wheel buttons to seek, you just have to do a longer press and hold to do it! Watch these other videos on the Escape that talk about all the technology they have! Memory definitely saves the HUD settings. I've tried it on ours.
Hey Steve can you do a night video to show the ambient lighting? No one has done a night video on the st line elite or platinum
Great idea! I’ll try to get my hands on one at night in the next month or so
Also a good idea is if you can inform whether this escape has puddle lights. I saw few vids at night and when unlocking it everything was pitch black (excluding the headlights of course)
i really liked how you showed the amount of space for the rear cargo area. im dreaming here! but this would be a nice little suv, im 27
Glad people actually like that detail! What build do you think you'd go with if you went for an Escape?
I'm getting mine this week with carvinized gray and tinted windows can't wait
That's exciting! What car are you replacing with the new Escape?
@@CarsWithSteve actually it’s going to be my first car I’m 20yrs

I’m picking mine up coming Thursday. All back and tinted.
Good call on the dark tint, it'll look great with the black exterior and the tinted windows!
What are the hard button beside the volume control for??
If it's the button down the center stack under the media screen you're talking about, it's for selecting different drive modes.
Thanks for the video. Answered all my questions I had. I was undecided on the sunroof until I watched you video, definitely going to get it.
You're welcome! What build are you going with?
The ST-Line Elite with the 2.0L EcoBoost.
Do you know roughly how long it takes from order to delivery?
Nice! Had a few people mention they saw theirs within a 6 - 8 weeks. I'd say at the most you're looking at 4 months
I wanted 8 months for my Maverick.

Junk crazy to me people buy this over a toyota
Comes down to a matter of preference. Brand loyalty is at play for both manufacturers and some people like the tech or style of one over the other
When you showcase the wheel, gtfo of the picture. Show the wheel and rest of the car. Self centered much? Lol
Or you could not be a baby and look at all the pretty pictures online 🤡
Entirely overpriced.
Compared to what?
