Brilliant lesson I've been playing 40 yrs. And this really does help people understand the pentatonic. Great tool for not just up and down the scale which gets you nothing really. 🙄
Thanks Eddie, one great lesson now I'm working on 6. Of your lessons now going to pick up the pace so I can get those six lessons. You know almost behind me. So great man working hard to meet my goals. Thanks to you too. Appreciate it
After taking the Master the Fretboard workshop at Guitar Mastery Method, this kind of lesson is great! I can do these licks so much easier now that I know what's going on, and the practice over the scales they teach. This is so much fun.
These are super sweet little hacks! Kinda like little mini break through moments every time I watch one of your videos! Thanks and keep these gems coming please!
Eddie, just caught a couple of these, SRV and Clapton, and like them a lot! The tab, and split screen are nice touches. The scope for me is just right. Will search for more!
I really appreciate your teaching style, Eddie! Also, i like the TAB below the video, which one may follow in real-time! Thanks for the “Blues Solo Hotmap”! -congrats on being a Father!! ✌🏽♥️
Ran through this quick info lesson last night. Simple - however - VERY EFFECTIVE! Sometimes it's the simple, small accents / adders that make a huge difference! Thanks!
@@GuitarMasteryMethod thanks. I can't play atm. Just had an operation to try and repair fingers on my left hand that got damaged back in '78. Healing very slowly. Had to have flesh removed down to the bone to get rid of the claw on my short index finger. ;(
Love you as a guitar teacher Eddie , you are a nice addition to the GMM team of which I already purchased several courses , love your Blues !!! greetings from the Netherlands Europe happy new year 2021 !!
Thank you for the lesson, I hope that there will be lessons on some of my favorite guitarist, Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Samatha Fish, Link Ray, Robin Trower, David Gilmour, and Eric Clapton.
Awesome! My dream is to play like SRV someday. This is the perfect exercise for a beginner like me. Stevie Ray Vaughn was the only guitar player I ever heard that could seem to make the guitar sound like it was singing. This guy uses vocals terms to describe some of these licks so I must not be the only one who thinks that. Thanks so much for this.
Very cool Licks, especially the second one. Huge Thank you for sharing these Licks. Really Great and even more helpful Leassons as always. Again a really huge Thanks for sharing. 😊 And now, let's go to practice them. 🎸😎
Great stuff to work on! Great lesson, Eddie! How bout some George Harrison in the future? He and the rest of the boys used some wonderful chords and licks. Happy New Year to Eddie and GMM!
I'm a newbie in all things guitar, but I love that guitar. It's gorgeous. What kind/model is it and did that pickguard come with it, or did you switch it out? I only started taking lessons a few months ago, but I'm already starting a guitar wish list. 😬 Lol
Eddie Eddie Eddie I love your lessons Ed you the man😁 so much help thanks bro Merry Christmas Happy New Year and God bless you and your family and keep those videos coming pleases😎🎸
On lick #3 can you explain why he chose to play the first string frets 5 - 7 - 5-6-5? The A# and B is not part of the pentatonic. The lick#1 he used the blue note. In lick#2 he used the major 3rd but what was the reason for the A# and B notes? And why does lick #3 stop on the C bend up 1/4. C is the second note in A minor, right? Would it not be more natural to stop lick #3 with going back to the A note of fret 5 after the 1/4 bend? Or is it simply because of the relation Am minor and C major? Confused and so hard to learn theory, just when I start thinking I getting there, something like this happens and I feel clueless.
Great job!!! Impressive numbers as out of 31K views and with all of the haters out there You only have 16 dislikes (unwarranted of course) I clicked like of course and am subscribed Happy New Year & much thanks!!!!
Lick # one, I have heard thousands of times before, but cannot remember the songs. Now I remember one of the songs: "Run Through The Jungle" by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Hey, Eddie Ray, Nothing much to say about this. Exciting! Great Licks! Who doesn't want some SRVism's? Thanks! Oh! and you didn't fool me with the name, Eddie Ray, .........Well, maybe! Until I clicked the link and saw you! ;-)
Mayer is a very accomplished guitarist, an articulate, intelligent guy who can sound like whomever he wants. But Stevie Ray was a true blues icon for the ages, the real deal. Mayer’s induction speech of SRV/DT into RRHOF, he describes the Hendrix-SRV connection well. He knows one can try and sound like SRV but there was only one Stevie Ray Vaughan.
@John Doe That's your opinion, which you are entitled to. Hendrix is still regarded as the best blues rock guitarist that ever lived for a reason. Hendrix was a trail blazer, though even he was influenced by other guitarists, who popularised that heavy blues sound through his own invention. SRV was a great guitarist but in terms of invention he didn't do anything. Just a Hendrix copy cat.
@@GuitarMasteryMethod I'm no expert but the trill in the second example, using the 6th fret of the G string is a note in the major A scale, therefore mixing major & minor.

Eddie , you were born to play and instruct guitar . You're the best !
These are the kinds of licks you can (should) practice until they become habits. Excellent lesson.
I just followed this lesson on my 4 string bass. Much fun! Thanks a lot!

Hi bro, thanks so much for sharing, teaching patiently and clearly. It’s really helpful 🎉 🎉🎉.

One of the better demonstrations of what Stevie Ray's articulation style was. Great one
@@GuitarMasteryMethod thanks. I can't play atm.

Extremely helpful stuff. Tremendous instructional ! You one of the best. Thank you.

Another cool lesson! Thank you
Stevie also used his thumb to fret the root note of the pentatonic scale on the low E-string to avoid moving his wrist.
great lesson!
Glad you liked it!
Far out, dude!!! Rock on..
Thank You Eddie. 👍👍 🎸🎶
outstanding Eddy.
What a great instructional video!
Eddie - great little free lesson, 1 ask, next time add some "color" and explain when to use these little lick (such as over the I,IV, V) thanks!
Thank you master
Love your lessons! Love that you had SRV as your focus! I aspire to master these!
Me too.
Thanks for the great lesson, you nailed SRV.
Great Teacher... Clear instruction..

Happy New Year . thanks for sharing that I well give it a try with all the other hacks save new year JBS>
I want it!
Hats off, as always!
TOP ! Thx
Hi Eddie, what's the difference between a lick & a riff 🤔🇭🇲
A riff is played throughout the song (i.e. smoke on the water)
A lick is only a portion of a solo, or a riff
This is one sweet video
That trill had a Doors sound to it.
Thamk you!!!!

Happy New Year & much thanks!!!!
Awesoome killer,
it looks to me just like the African desert blues, like that of Mali, Morocco.....Ali Farka Toure is one personal example.
lick #1 is more of a blackmore lick. blackmore did that way before SRV did. its on the guitar solos of burn and demons eye.
cool
Lick # one, I have heard thousands of times before, but cannot remember the songs. Now I remember one of the songs: "Run Through The Jungle" by Creedence Clearwater Revival

Nice lesson, but I can't figure out how to rewind the video.
👍
When I first heard John Mayer I thought SRV got reincarnated. Only an SRV fanatic could tell the difference.
The flutter between..
Umn... Johnny Winter
Sounds sorta Big Head Todd too.
Deep dive Denny Freeman
I’ve learned more from you in two days about playing guitar than I have in years.lonestaroasis.ca.Great lessons man.🎶🎶
So...are you saying nobody used the blues note or mixed major & minor pentatonics before SRV? He was a watered down Hendrix IMO.
stevie had a different tone then hendrix, and he was a cleaner player.
