In my experience in gaming as a whole, not just turn-based war games, if something is a bad play, simply don't do it. Never play into your opponents hand hoping to get lucky. It's literally better to do nothing, as bad as that feels.
Sometimes, especially when we call them out like that, we make bad or sub-par plays because it'll make a more entertaining video, if I had chosen not to go for that, with deception up he could sit back the entire game and eventually force me into that type of play anyways, or I could also play super cagey and try to get a mid-game steal to flip the score. Ultimately, it was the best odds move I had that would still lead to a fun game rather than a grindy wait-fest, which we actively avoid for battle reports. In a more competitive game, safe grabs are a necessity against a model like Mystique, but they're not always fun to watch.
I love your battle reports but i think you could be a bit more careful with your measurements! Miles round 1 gets Deceptioned, the tool isn't flush tonhis base, then he gets placed slighty off the other end, then he's just within 4 of Hood! I dunno man I think he maybe should have beem out of range. Anyway, great video, keep em coming.
Camera can definitely make things deceptive, and we aren't always perfect with it, ultimately most of the battle reports are casual low-stakes games anyways so if we do a little accidental extra movement it's not too big of a deal, but we'll definitely try to be careful with it going forward. @@alasdairglen3008 We definitely pride ourselves on being one of the more "competitive" battle report channels out there, not so much with the lists we bring but just both Reid and myself are fairly competitive players. Was definitely sad to see Miles get caught out and downed so quickly, not my finest moment whether there was measurement shenanigans or not.
Nice battle report! Been watching a bunch of your videos and they're great. One thing I caught is that on ASMs trigger for Catch! he can only destroy a Size 2. The daily bugle buildings are 3 I believe. Regardless, awesome videos! Like that you explain a lot of what's going on in the background with abilities and attacks.
That would be Red Skull Master Of The World's leadership, it lets you treat a skull as a Crit but then after the attack you have to pay a power or else you take a damage
For sure, very worth acknowledging here that Ultron isn't exactly his favourite type of model to go up against, Zemo would've been more ideal if Zemo had actually been targeting Iceman
Is it ok to deploy Ultron with his drones at the start of the game? Or do you have to wait until “I Will Create a Better Age…” superpower effect is applied? I just want to make sure Im playing him right. I usually wait till conditions of the power is available.
Unless otherwise specified, grunts always start the game on the board, they deploy at the same time you deploy the grunt leader. Really nice with some of the grunts that can get objectives for you in the first round.

Good game. I think Iceman did fine, but definitely is better into more melee oriented models.
