    i have been using the speed and contrast paint and layering it with other paints as well. for instance, I HATE all the flesh tones as they’re inconsistent and way too dark. so for Wolverine for instance, I used 3:1 voluptuous pink from Citadel with medium and put that down as a base, painted the raised skin with elf skin tone from Game Color, then, once dried, finish with one more top layer of voluptuous pink 3:1 of contrast again. it gives the flesh a well needed hue and gives the illusion of skin with actual blood in it. I wish i could show you the finished product

    • @EliteC64
      @EliteC64 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats what I also think about the flesh colours with all the speedpaint vids, I'll try your trick layering the flesh areas ONLY with acrilic paints with medium after drybrushing the 1st grey/white base coat.

    Hello. Thank you for this.
    I see the wash+flow+med mixture adds a LOT of contrast. And it's beautiful.
    But, taken into account the fact that zenithal drybrushing provides way more contrast lights than airbrushing, do you think that glazing you did before you use contrast paint would work fine with dry brushing or would it be too much?
    Thank you very much.

    Been using the white primer or a silver primer for the figures.
    Silver for the Iron Man and the Hulkbuster armors and the War Machine armor.
    White for Star-Lord, Daredevil and Sam Wilson Captain America.
    Going to do the zenithal highlight on the Bull's-eye figure today.
    I really do love the SpeedPaints on the figures. I also use the arcylic mini paints for highlights on the figures

    What is the reason for the Matte Coat after the Cutbacks? Is that to allow the Glaze to flow better? If yes, may it be better to use a Gloss Coat for better flow of the Glaze? Your thoughts are welcomed. Thank you for the content and sharing.

      Speedpaints are pretty sweet for beginners. Just have a pure white at hand for when you eventually do mistakes and paint in the wrong area because the mistake will shine through. Finish everything you can for the day and then the next day correct mistakes with white and then finish Speedpainting.

    • @spikeybitstv
      @spikeybitstv  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not really sure why you want to do a second coat with a product that is a "one coat" solution, but perhaps just use normal acrylic paint if you are doing more than one coat on your miniatures.

    • @sandmanhh67
      @sandmanhh67 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Use the same system Rob used here - once the coat has dried hit it with a coat of matte varnish to seal that layer. Kenny B has been using the layer system for years and its diamond for when you need to protect a layer.
      You can even exploit that reactivation "weakness" using it to enhance highlights by taking paint off the same way you would with an oil wash - rub it gently with a q tip to bring the highest highlights back out.

    • @Willyamm

      As others have said, use a varnish in-between and you'll solve the reactivation issue. AP also makes airbrush varnishes and they work great.
