Sending prayers! My husband lost his eyesight to diabetes 20years ago. Treatment techniques have improved since then. They can do amazing things. Having lived through the loss you just have to remember that they will either fix his vision or he will get better at adapting. The initial period of not knowing is the hardest. Hard to maintain a sense of humor, but that with prayers is what got us through.
I know the Word says "surely the Lord will do nothing without first making it known through his servants the prophets." And just like other times of much trial and strife I have been hearing much prophecy these days. A few have pointed out that in Exodus when the Lord delivered his own from the pharoah's rule it says when they left Goshen "there were NONE feeble among them." God is saying these days "why would you think I would not do for you what I have always done before?" God says I am the Lord who healeth thee. Praying to God who I know is listening to our pleas!

I'm sure you and your husband do this, but I noticed your air conditioner didn't have a cover on it to prevent cold coming in. It does help at least to cover air conditioners, but since you were insulating a lot of other things, it might be good to think about insulating the air conditoner with the pink stuff and then covering it with some sort of plasticized cover. to keep it from getting wet. STAY WARM! ❤
Yes! We always use a cover made for our air conditioner. Thanks for the idea of also using insulation. We used to remove the a/c from the window, but then we got too old. heh. :)

Hi Tessie…We use hay bales around the outside of the house where underpinning is because it helps if you lose power and heat tape stops keeping pipes from freezing, just an extra precaution. I’ve had to replace pipes before because of an ice storm that shut power down for a week…

This cold front has been something else! A few days ago we had a windchill of -56 where I live in Montana. I've only been outside once in the past week, but by this weekend we'll be up in the 40s for several days. I made sure things were ready around the house, filled up the car with gas, and picked up a few perishables at the market to get through 10 days or so to go with all the food in my pantry and freezers. Glad you and Kenny were able to get your foundation insulated before the cold came in. Stay warm in your cozy cabin!!

@@pr9764 my furnace went out and my electric went out, but electricity came back on. I have 10 inches of snow and it was -4 degrees last night. I am still here just taking it day to day and being thankful the good Lord is keeping me here, if only for my 83 year old mother’s sake. I don’t want her worried about me, it would do her in if she knew.

Hi Tessie! It was nine below early this morning! Minus two when we got up. Thankfully, it warmed up to a whooping 28 degrees. We use wool blankets over our mobile home doors and rolled up towels to keep the drafts out. Our chickens and ducks had no desire to go outside for three days. They finally went out this afternoon. A lot of broken pipes in Tennessee. Thankfully, we are prepared for most anything. The biggest issue is black ice right now. Stay warm my friends.

Doing okay. covered the windows and the front door to stop cold air coming in. Kept both space heaters running all night and added more covers to the beds.👍@@pr9764

We got the coldest weather last night and today in my part of Virginia. Since I didn’t have to go out today I stayed in my fuzzy pajamas all day. I was nice and cozy.
It really is a treat to be able to grab a bite to eat outside the home. Going out to eat for breakfast is always a treat when you know where the good breakfasts are! Hope you stayed warm. It helps me to have a heating pad to plug in. It can warm my feet in bed or my legs when I am on the couch. After just a few minutes it has done its job and can be turned off. Love it.
Tessie, It got very cold last night it's 25 now and a bit windy the next few days it will be bitter cold temps in the teens insulation is key looks like you had the same amount of snow as I did staying indoors now not much time outside going to put on my comfort flannel sheets tonight keep warm and cozy :-) Love you my sister :-) God Bless You and Ken :-)

I opened up my kitchen cabinet in my bathroom cabinet last night and put little heaters in front of it so the pipes wouldn’t freeze. Stay warm❤️

We have had freezing weather in north Arkansas. It was -1 yesterday and we had 5 inches of snow. Really cold and water has froze in peoples houses. Stay warm.

Hi, Tessie! You were wise to do all of those preparations. The cold, snow, and wind we had Monday into Tuesday was brutal. The howling was intense! I've been battling bronchitis this week, so my husband brought in some of my plants and cleaned up my greenhouse for me. He said the wind toppled it! (thankfully, it was not damaged beyond repair). I'm hoping to get outside tomorrow to check on the rest of the garden. Stay safe and warm through these freezing days.

Sorry my weather in WI is coming your way! I always look for ways to be a good steward. I have shades and blinds so both are pulled down tight. We are on a slab in our condo so the floors are much colder than homes heated from basements. I roll old towels and push them against the bottom of every door cuz that's the drafty area. It makes a huge difference. I made a very big pot of veggie beef soup because my bonus fridge is my attached garage floor. I can shop for an extra week and have plenty of room to put what doesn't fit in the fridge safely on the garage floor. Saves me more gas for the store. when I want to read I crawl under the flannel sheets! My 93 year old mom needs it warmer than we would keep our home but she gladly adds a few shekels to our energy costs to not have to pay high rent on her own. Insulation is always a good thing. Every home we have reinsulated , it has paid for itself within a couple years and after that we always save. Stay warm all my friends to the east of me. Springs getting closer!

Praying for you, we're now pulling out of 4 days of subzero temps with windchill down to as low as -48F! Today it felt like Spring compared to the polar vortex weather from Friday through yesterday. Stay safe and warm both of you.

Roads should be safe in the morning. It was 10 degrees last night. Most schools will open back up tomorrow.
Whew, I think everyone was getting that artic blast. We're in Alabama, and we were in the teens this morning! Our 1907 mill village home has zero insulation, so we are feeling that cold air. 🥶
