To be fair my favorite part of the game by far is the first 5-10hrs of gameplay, when you start from nothing and struggle to gear up; I won't say I don't mind the deaths but I actually really like starting over... so I guess thats something ahah
@@CheekiBreekiTv yeah I can relate to that. The early game is all about getting gear; it's a nice concrete goal, but once you are relatively geared up, you become a little aimless. I should write some solid goals down to do on every playthrough that way I always aiming for something.
Maybe you just don't have time, it's very very grindy to repeat everything for long time and checking every corner cautiously also takes a lot of time. Play with infinite deaths and track them diligently to enjoy it like ironman, with a goal dying as little as possible.
And you instantly garnered massive respect even more so than previously. The fact you are willing to show your smoothbrain plays that you could have easily just not talked about is awesome. I almost never used grenades indoors (and if i do i only use RGD-5) because of this. But then even when using it outdoors still can led to funny moments like bounding it from a tree branch or having it slapped into a place you are taking cover in.
I personally love using grenades indoors , if im outdoors ill use my nade launcher on my rifle into groups of mutants or stalkers . nothing more i love than bouncing nades off walls into enemies
I'm on my first playthrough on Gamma. I am too reckless and aggressive and die a lot in the process despite me trying to "live with the consequences of my own decisions" so to speak. Therefore Ironman sounds enticing but also a bit far away right now. But it's kinda comforting to see that even veterans die to stupid mistakes sometimes. So thanks for this montage.
I’m still not finished a full 1 life Ironman run (have gotten as far as the Outskirts), but I think a very effective way to play is to try and make huge room for stupid mistakes. So, for example, amassing as many companions as possible, keeping full health at all times, an emphasis on long range sniping, fighting in the dark with no headlamp on and companions on stealth, as much armour as possible, avoiding getting got by whirligigs by not running between trees, constantly switching night vision on and off to see anomalies. Every little bit that the game can be made more forgiving helps, and a sort of tipping point is reached. Although some parts of the game just require experience. E.g. that last acking in Pripyat was due to standing up inside the back of a tent inside a building, which caused the tent to launch into the ceiling and then smash down, one shotting the character. Still, learning that seeking shelter is usually better than a tent, to stay near tent entrance, crawl out of tent first.
I rarely die to human enemies or even mutants on my Ironman runs but those fkin anomalies smash me so often. Especially burners which are almost invisible. I also need to mention my most hilarious death that ended my run. I was getting ready to raid NPP with Strielok and buddies but before that I decided to replenish my inventory in the Bar. Second before teleporting emission started. I was like, ok I will have plenty of time to hide so no prob. Little did I know apparently emission "work" during loadtime and just when I teleported into the Bar I instantly died :D Several days of gameplay turned into shitter.
Really enjoyed this, very fun to see the deaths and the reasonings, thoughts and lessons that came from it. Would love to watch another compilation like this, and also another full run!
Please keep them coming. A true stalker has eyes in the back of his head. I spend more time checking my surroundings in a firefight... There's always that one monolith that goes into 100 sneak mode... I swear that monolith guy is in the back of the brain scorcher is hiding in a box...
Top entertainment from the Zone! Some of those deaths hit way too close to home with my own experiences, this kind of stuff can give you PTSD. :D Amazing compilation and commentary, thanks!
Love to see it, hate to be it. Almost everytime you lose its usually because of over confidence, you don't check a corner or take a break to heal up, you think to yourself, "I'll be lucky this time, It won't happen to me." and then that's exactly when it does happen to you. Too many times I've gotten far into a ironman playthrough trying to achieve the "Invictus" achievement only to die super early on to an anomaly, then die to that same anomaly again.. Shadow of Chernobyl got me used to having that quicksave button as a backup, and not being able to quicksave really feels like your losing an arm.
Playing warfare on Ironman mode as Duty, wiped Freedom out of Army Warehouse, however noticed that the mercs were pushed out of Dead City when Monolith started pushing the farmstead, "okay" I say to myself, we just go into Dead City and kick the Monolith out, "i have a Nosorog, I am invincible" Yeah, after killing 3 guys some fucker sneaked around my legendary companions and put a 12 gauge into my back, no time to reaction.
I'm almost 100% sure that the monolith soldier that killed you at 5:17 is scripted. When I ran through Radar on my previous character playing Anomaly: Gamma I died a few times at the same spot to that guy. I believe there's a script for him to spawn when you move into that very spot and have your back turned to him.
yeah, they spawn behind a couple of times, learned that the hard way. In my case they actually spawned in the Brain Scorcher switch, so am 100% sure there was no one there previously.
@@NoisieBastrdd Yep, deactivating brain scorcher spawns a wave of monolith soldiers. Had 2 companions clearing out Radar and the lab together, then after switching off the scorcher their health bars suddenly went off because they were about 10-20m away from me. I'm pretty bummed out about it still.

Muiito estranho.
