  • Hey everyone, this is my review of the 1011-08 Melitta Term Coffee maker. Wanted somthing automated, easy to use so that I can get fresh coffee when needed especially on days when I have an early start and this does the job. Link to Amazon where I bought it from below. Please give a thumbs up if you like this vid and as always feel free to comment and I will do my best to answer.

    Do not buy plastic filters you will get BPA’s filtering into your coffee due to the hot temp and this is not good for your body!

    These are spot on and simple to use. I've always liked espresso coffee so use a machine and a Moka pot but these have become redundant since using this. I measure a litre of water for 4 cups and use around 55g to 60g of filtered Coffee. Tend to use around 55g so to get sort of equal cups from 227g packs. Obviously half that for 2 cups. Keep the aroma setting on full and then you're done. I don't use Italian coffee in this machine like lavazza rossa as I think they are best for short espresso style drinks. Currently use Asda specially selected coffee but Lidl do some great ones similar and better than Aldi imo. Sometimes buy more expensive but I really like the value Lidl and Aldi offer for their special ranges. One thing for certain is you'll never go back to instant after using this. Pretty much tried the lot when it comes to instant as well lol.

    I've got this same model; it's simply great! But I don't bother with a grinder because these days, coffee is very well ground anyway, especially the Italian grinds or Union, so instead I'll spoon the amount in that we prefer, and let the coffee machine do the rest.
    I was intending to buy a more expensive machine, but bought this instead on recommendation. It was the best buy ever, and I got it for £30 less, and what I'd have otherwise spent, went towards buying a Leatherman Crunch.

      I bought it on amazon and got it yesterday. It's great. The only thing I don't like is that every time I unplug I have to set the clock again. I like to disconnect electrical devices at night so I will have to set the clock daily. It should have a battery, don't you think? Apart from that, I love it! :)

    • @markshonestreviewsandhealt6953
      @markshonestreviewsandhealt6953  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Maria-tl1lm Yes, if you uplug it every night then that would be a pain. What I do if I am not using the timer is when I get up and switch it on i just quickly press the set button and add any time on to the clock so I can start the coffee machine off, so if you do it that way it takes just a second and your coffee will be brewing quickly.

    Could you recommend a good pre-ground coffee for a filter machine?

    • @markshonestreviewsandhealt6953
      @markshonestreviewsandhealt6953  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ben Sherman hi Ben to be honest I always grind my coffee and have done for years so I can’t really recommend any other than whole bean which probably won’t help you. I would always go for local roaster if you can as if it’s pre ground it won’t stay fresh for very long. Also, make sure you keep it in an air tight container will help with the taste cheers

    How long does the coffee stay ‘hot’ in the pot? Will it still provide a hot coffee late in the afternoon even if i set it brewing at 9am that morning? In other words, will a single brew last all day in my office? How best i use this machine for my working day? (I work at home by myself)

    • @markshonestreviewsandhealt6953
      @markshonestreviewsandhealt6953  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stephen Leworthy hi Stephen, the pot in my experience stays hot for around 3 hours (it may stay hot longer however I have usually finished the cover by then) but it is still very hot. The jug is very heavy and well made and has great insulation so I imagine it may even stay hot for longer but I can’t be sure about this. I no longer have this machine as I sold it as I now have a new coffee machine so I can’t test it for you. Hope that helps thanks 👍

      So much easier using the paper filters, I was using a little glass cafeteria but was a pain cleaning it out and putting the spent coffee grounds into my compost bucket to take down to my allotment plot to put on my compost bin. Not only does the coffee taste better through a paper filter but so much cleaner emptying and the unbleached paper filters break down biodegrade and make great compost that the strawberry plants etc love.

      Mark's Honest Reviews & Health Tips good evening Mark. Have got to say how impressed I am with this coffee machine, I was torn between this and the perfection model but the timer won me over and the stainless steel jug is awesome and really does keep your coffee hot , drinkable unlike the hotplate versions that never seem hot enough in the first place and then stew your coffee if left for a while.
      Didn't think I would need the timer function but what a luxury, house smells great when I wake up. Such a well made QUALITY product.
