Wish you could get in touch with DJI and talk to them about making a smart controller for the earlier mavic drones all-in-one screen everything everything because there are times when I need my phone and I don't have a tablet
Great explanation of the audio capabilities of the various start controllers from DJI. And thanks for coming up with solutions for adding audio to your screen recordings. Thanks for sharing Rick.
Hi Rick. I got my USB-C mic today and tested it... love it !! So easy to use and great audio. Thanks for this awesome solution to record audio to my screenshots and video's. Great value for the price. 👍🏼
Thanks for the post and I'm glad you're enjoying the external mic. It really does make a difference in the audio quality and it's great to hear that customers find it helpful. We appreciate your business!
Hi Rick, thanks for the video, and thanks for making the Drone Valley Wireless Microphone kit. I received mine a couple days ago and have been testing it. I really like the form factor and charging case and lack of wires. The voice quality is very good. It helps volume wise to have the mic as close to my mouth as possible, but the audio is good and can be amplified in post processing effectively if needed. One point about the video, my DJI RC Pro controller does in fact have a speaker in it, so the screen recordings play audio when I review them on the RC Pro. Did you mean to say that the RC Pro doesn't have a microphone, but the old RC Smart Controller does? Maybe my RC Pro unit, which is only a couple weeks old is different, but I thought I'd seen other references to it having a speaker like mine. Thanks again for the videos and great products. Your wireless mic is almost an order of magnitude less than DJIs, which is super helpful to people like me who aren't doing a lot of high-end vlogging or interviewing but want to play around with a mic. Best regards,
Good News, the wireless option records audio AND allows you to hear notifications from the controller. This is a really big win. Not sure how you pulled this off, but THANKS!
Thank's for a informative video 😃 I bought my RC Pro for 1 year ago, first now i understand that i can record the sound directly to my controller! I been using a Sony voice recorder that i bought for 100 dollar.... i will stop that now thank's to you! 🙏🙏🙏
Back in the day which I fly my Mavic 2 Zoom it captured video and pictures in the drone. Another audio stream came down and was in my iPad Mini 3. The big question was how in the heck to get it out of the iPad Mini. You would think they would just have it where you could download it directly into your computer when you plugged it in. But NO, You had to go into the DJI software and download it into the iPad. That was about the silliest thing I have ever heard of. It took me a long time to figure it out since I had to look at countless You Tube videos. If there was user groups around that could show you. I still use my iPad mini 3 but hope some day run across a DJI Smart Controller for the Mavic 2 Zoom. I'm looking for fall to come to South Texas and we can get away from this 100+ temperature.
Thanks Rick. I like the smart wireless Microphone, but it is missing a wind shield/dead cat sort of wind protection. So in a little bit windy day the sound quality will be affected.
Thanks for the post but we designed it with an internal windscreen and it also has active noise cancelling tech to knock down on background noise. It's really good at eliminating wind when you're out flying.
Hi John hello from Phoenix Arizona. This is the first time back on your channel in probably three years I’ve just been busy with life and not flying my drone recently. But I came across this video wanted to say thank you. What a great idea for the wireless option. Very nice that’s a very nice product. I’m thinking about buying another drone with a smart controller and when I do I’ll make sure and pick up that wireless mic from you. Anyway hope you had a good weekend thanks for the great videos.
Since buying the RC1, I am very frustrated that DJI decided to bin Audio, it's a really stupid move. Thanks for the info, my USB mic is now working, but having to screen record is a bit of a pain, wish DJI listened to their customers and made it same as DJI4 :)
Great video. 1) today is 10/25/22. Is the wireless mic still working with the DJI RC (Mini 3 Pro) 2) When DJI RC does screen record, it will also record the telemetry as well? Can you screen record without the telemetry. (I guess this is the difference between a cache and a screen record. 3) According to DJI and multiple upset TH-camrs, the screen record is only 480P, and is fixed and cannot be changed through firmware. Sorry TH-camrs who like to record and post your telemetry. 4) This is a really strange limitation for the DJI-RC. On the RC-N1 controller screen recording is higher res. Please comment on this issue.
Thanks for the post and the wireless mic is working fine with all of the latest versions of firmware on all of the Smart Controllers. The screen recording is a little frustrating that the resolution is so low but it was initially set for 1080p and it was only in later versions that it was lowered. The reasons is that it's higher on the RC-N1 is that its governed by your external device (phone/tablet) and not limited by the internal Android operating system on the DJI RC. The way around this is to simply blend the audio from the screen recording with the video from the drone for the best of both worlds. I hope that helps. Rick
Thank you Rick! I’m gonna purchase the wireless one for my GEN 2 smart controller 2questions, are we going to see any goggles for the Mavic 3 2. transferring GEN 2 Smart controller video to iPad or iPhone thank you.
Unfortunately this only works with a Smart Controller because it needs an operating system to work. If you're using one of the controllers that attaches to your phone/tablet (RC1,RC2) you won't be able to add audio to your flights.
What is the exact video resolution when recording to the controller? What are the differences in file sizes? I know that on my newer RC controller I can set the video resolution of my DJI drone either up or down within certain parameters. I'm wondering how much difference there is between the resolution of the controller's screen recordings and the resolution set for the drone. I recently got my Drone Valley Microphone kit in the mail. I"m just trying to find out exactly how best to set up up.
I bought your wireless Mic for recording on the RC screen recording. The receiver plugged into the host port doesn’t light up? Been charging all night? I’ll try again today. Not sure how you will get back to me?
Maxine, thanks for the post and you can always contact me through email with any questions or issues you have (rick@dronevalley.com). The kit is easy to use and you just need to make sure the receiver is fully seated into the host port (the one under the rubber flap) and the mic is turned on. Once they connect you'll see the light come on indicating they have paired. If that's not happening, send me an email and we can sort it out. We stand behind everything we sell and want you happy. Thanks for your support! Rick
Hi Rick, thank you for the great information. Recently purchased the DJI Mini 3 Pro and almost exclusively use it to record train videos. My question on the wireless mic is, since 30 ft off either side of the rails belongs to the Railroad and we try to be responsible railfanners... If I wear the wireless mic on my lapel, with it's noise cancelling feature, is it going to cancel out the train sounds? I know trains produce VERY loud sound, and it may be just fine on the lapel. But I thought I could perhaps pin the mic to one of my old tripods and stand it closer to the rails. But if you think the mic would pick up the trains sound while pinned to the lapel, that would be my 1st choice.
Hello Rick and thanks for the video. Really informative. I bought mavic 3E two months ago and I would be grateful if you could inform us whether there is a "cruise control" option in the DJI pilot 2. I looked in the "customise RC buttons” menu but could but find "cruise control" option. Is there a way to have such a nice facility in mavic 3E? Greetings from Greece
Excellent information! Wrote you an email regarding my Mini3 Pro RC a few days ago. Looking at the wireless mike but concerned about the noise cancellation if It can be shut down. Doing moving competitions and would like to actually record some of the outside noise. If this is not possible do you recommend going with the other options and will they work on the RC controller?
Thanks for the post and the ones we sell are built by us to work with the Smart Controllers and have some noise cancelling built in. A lot of the items on eBay (and some on Amazon) are knockoff items that look the same but don't work. We have these built for us and I can assure you that the cable and the connector alone would cost you more than $2 so they can't be functional.
Your right Amazon has some poor delivery time when it comes to your products. I got smart and started ordering directly from your company. Keep on offering free shipping and I'll keep on ordering :-)
I appreciate your support and we do all we can to ship orders out the same day they are placed so you get the gear quickly. We're trying to hold the line on the free shipping so no worries there. Rick
Hey Rick, Rick here as well...Visited your site to buy the wireless kit but it was out of stock 🤦🏾♂️ Can you advise when will it be available again? Thanks...
Thanks for the post and sorry for the issue. We have plenty in stock and missed updating the inventory on the website when they arrived a week back. If you hit this link you can place an order if you like and we can ship one right out to you. tinyurl.com/4h3wc86e Thanks, Rick
For the price we paid for dji mini 3 pro its disappointing not to have audio when screen recording is on. The old RC for mini 2 is way better as it records on your cellphone. Hopefully the fix this issue.
Just subscribed to your channel. Can you please tell me if the wireless mic will record audio onto screen recording on a DJI mini 4 pro rc2 controller? Thanks, Larry
Larry, thanks for the post and your sub. The Drone Valley Wireless Microphone kit is designed to work well with all of the DJI Smart Controllers and we;ve tested it with the newer DJI RC2 and it's totally compatible. We offer it on both Amazon and our Drone Valley website and have plenty of them in stock for immediate shipping. Thanks again for your support!
Yes, we developed an Audio kit that works with all of the Smart Controllers, including the RC2. We also offer the kit with an adapter that you can use with Apple products as well, if you're using your phone to record audio with the Neo. I'll be posting a clip showing how that works very soon but you can check it out here and we have plenty in stock - tinyurl.com/yckb9ans
In case you can’t open the Amazon link in my previous comment the microphone in question is a Cubilux USB C Microphone Compatible with iPad 10 iPad Pro iPad Air 5/4 iPad Mini 6, Samsung S22/S21/S20 Tab S8/S7/S6, Note 20/10, Pixel 7/6 Pro 6a 5 4, Type C External Lapel Lavalier Clip MIC, 5 FT Will this work will the DJI RC PRO controller?
John, thanks for the post and unfortunately not every USB-C mic we tested worked with the Smart Controllers and that's why we designed the ones we offer. Even though the USB-C port is a standard configuration, every company can choose how they implement it and if they install a specific driver in the OS to accommodate a given accessory. We spent a number of months finding the right USB-C mic and wireless mic to work with the Smart Controller and offer them all on our website. I can assure you that ours are tested and work well. I hope that helps and thanks again for your post.
Hi Rick! I'm only 9:22 into this video and I already want the wireless kit. I need (well, ok...want) it for a trip im taking next weekend with my RC Pro, RC Controller, Mavic 3, Mini 3 Pro and Air 2s. I am planning on ordering it right now, can you tell me approximate shipping time to south Florida? Anyway, back to the video....!
Thanks for the post and it's a really nifty accessory. We have plenty in stock and can ship one out on Monday. It'll take a few days to arrive in Florida so you should have it in plenty of time. I appreciate your support and please let me know if you have any other questions. Rick
Hi Rick. I don’t see the wireless microphone kit available in your store. When I attempt to order a quantity of “1” it won’t allow it. Only populates to “0”. Is the product available? Thanks. Jeff/Annapolis
I'm trying to choose a drone model -- and accessories (like your cool little wireless mic), and audio recording is important to me. However, I'd prefer if I had a clear video straight from the controller that I could quickly post to social media without having to pull the audio from the cached file and layer it over the full-res file from the drone. I've heard unfortunately that the DJI-RC (Gen 3) can do *_screen recording_* at 1080p but _only _*_caches_* at 480p. Can you confirm that for me? And can you tell me what resolution the DJI RC-N1 (Gen 1) caches at? Is it also 720p, like the screen recording for it? And are you *_certain_* that 720 is the screen recording resolution for all phones? To me it would make more sense that it would screen record at the same resolution that the phone does, and my phone's screen recording feature is 2400*1080. Otherwise why wouldn't you just use your phone's built-in screen recording instead of DJIs, even if it takes an extra few seconds? Thanks for your help, and I hope to buy one of these mics soon!
Hi Rick thanks for this but ugh can’t I capture the video without the telemetry? It’s so annoying I can’t get a clean recording with audio I’m so upset 😩😩😩😩
I took my RC controller had my mini three pro in the air pressed the screen video and all I got was audio no video. Did I need to hit the record button on the drone before I do a screen recording with audio so that I’ll get both?
Hi Rick. I just watched this video and I was particularly interested in your experience with the USB C lavalier mic and the RC Controller. I’m using a USB C lavalier mic with my RC Controller and I’m having a noise interference issue when I turn the power on to my Mini 3 Pro. There is no noise on my screen recording until I power on the drone (props not spinning). Then I get a loud buzzing noise just like you heard when you have a poor mic connection. Any thoughts? Thanks, Lee P.S. I sent you an email with a screen recording of the issue and info on the mic that I’m using. Thanks again.
Hello @LeeANear, I am having the same issue you described... I have the RC Pro and the Mini 3 Pro. When I use a USB-C lav mic, I get interference when the Mini 3 Pro powered on. When I power down the drone, the interference stops. I am struggling to find a mic, wired or wireless, that doesn't interfere with the screen recording on the RC unit. Have you found a solution?
Hello Rick, looks like you’ve added the newer RC controller at the end. It’s pretty brief and I was hoping that you’d go into more detail and even show a brief sample with the audio over the screen recording. I tried with a wireless mic and hooked to the controller’s Host USB-C port using DJI’s 3.5mm to usb-c adapter. I also have both TRS and TRRS connectors and nothing works. Screen recording is fine just no audio. Could you throw some light, maybe something I missed? Edited: sorry, I should have waited till your video ended to make my comment. Looks like you did get audio on your screen recording with all combinations of mic input. Guess I’ll have to buy another mic or some direct connection bypassing DJI’s adapter
Philip, thanks for the post and we had a tough time sorting out the audio recording across all of the controllers. We finally figured it out and offer a range of options on our website. We have an adapter that allows you to use a standard TRS mic, a package with the mic included, a direct USB-C mic and the wireless kit. All of them are in stock and ready to ship. I hope that helps, Rick
Thanks for the post and I'm sorry that we're out of stick right now. We have a large order in transit but it's been delayed due to the Chinese New Year celebration for about a week. I'll update the website as soon as they arrive. Thanks for your support! Rick
Old dog and new tricks😅. I of course watched this video before and didn't note the short cut to start screen record oh my such a great tip you need to put it in neon lights😂🎉
Hi Rick, I'm on the fence about which mike setup to buy. The TRS mike with the USB adapter sounds loudest to me by far. I like the idea of the wireless mike but it just didn't seem to have as much punch to me, in fact it seemed the quietest of the 3 options. Ok, I have a few questions. First, I prefer not to have the mike adapter dangling around below the controller. If I were to velcro it to the underside of the smart controller with the TRS port facing towards me when holding it, is the cord long enough to plug into the USB port without straining it? Also, it would be nice if the USB plug was a right angle type so the cord would hang downward and out of the way. Second question: Is it possible to use a USB "Y" cable so as to use the mike and an external battery at the same time? This would allow the onboard battery to last much longer. Finallly, how long is the cable on the TRS mike? To me it doesn't need to be very long. Just long enough to plug in to the adapter and clip on to my shirt with maybe a little excess. Great job as usual and thanks for any advice!!
Dan, the wireless is the best audio quality but is lower on volume because it provides active noise-cancelling to knock down the wind and background noise. You can easily bump this up in the editing. The other mics use a passive noise cancelling and are slightly louder. The cable to the adapter is short (about 3 inches so it might not work well with the Velcro. I would suggest either the wireless version or the dedicated USB-C unless you already have a good TRS lapel mic and then go with the adapter. We have all of them in stock and can send them along when you decide which one you like. Thanks for the support! Rick
a question regarding your wireless mic. what is the typical maximum and absolute maximum range possible between transmitter and receiver? I'd like to know this for times where I have a subject that i might want to record with my drone would have different audio that I might have from my controlling position and am looking for a wireless mic that can do maybe 50-150 meters but more is obviously preferable.
Our wireless mic uses Bluetooth for connection and is good for about 30 feet of distance. That's plenty of range for this type of recording since you're holding the controller. There are other mics on the market that use 2.4 gHz and provide greater distance but they are much more expensive and we haven't tested many of them. I hope that helps, Rick
The mic is paired automatically when you power it up. You can simply insert the receiver into the USB-C port under the protective cover on the remote (not the one you're using for charging) and power up the mic. Start a screen recording and the audio will be added to the video you're recording on the controller. These files are saved under the "Movie" folder on the remote or SD card in the remote. I hope that helps and thanks for your business!
Thanks for the post but unfortunately that won't work since the USB-C port is only designed to accept a certain type of digital audio input. We spent a few months sorting that out with our wireless microphone to get it working with the controller. It's a great solution that will produce some really clear audio with your clips.
Looks good Rick am I able to buy your mic in the uk, and do you know if the rc pro will be compatible with the mini 3 anytime soon as would like to buy the mini 3 without the remote so I can use my rc pro with it.
Paul, thanks for the post and we can ship to you in the UK for a small shipping charge if you want one of the mics. Good news on the RC Pro, DJI just released an update today that allows it to fly the Mini 3 and I'll have a clip posting tomorrow covering the firmware needed for both. Rick
Hi Rick, was just watching this video and got to say I am a little confused I guess. I have been doing screen recordings every time I fly for about three years or so by using the pull down menu and pressing the record button on the original sc. This does a screen recording with audio, as long as the audio cashe is on, and I just checked some old files to make sure but worked fine with go4, pilot and fly apps. This is an actual screen recording and shows everything you see on the screen so maybe this is what I am missing, not being the view from the drone? The mic kit still looks interesting as it could be worn by the subject if not the one doing the recording if it has a decent range on it.
Thanks for the post and the screen recording only works to record audio on the original Smart Controller. None of the other Smart Controllers include an internal mic so you'll only capture the video portion without adding the external mic. Even with the original Smart Controller, the audio from the internal mic is pretty bad and these options allow you to greatly improve the quality. I hope that helps, Rick
Good morning. I just went to Drone valley web sight to view the spec on the wireless mic but you don't have any thing. Like what type of wireless single or how far the will it transmit.
Thanks for the post. It uses the 2.4 Ghz frequency and will provide about 100 feet of signal transmission. It's really designed for a closer broadcast since you'll actually be holding the controller but can be used for video clips as well as long as your phone/tablet uses a USB-C connection. I hope that helps and let me know if you have other questions. Rick
Thanks for the post and the wireless mics turned out to be super popular for the holidays and we ran out of stock. The good news is that we have another master order arriving this coming week and will have plenty of them on hand. If you'd like, send me an email - Rick@drone valley.com and I can let you know when they arrive so you can order one. We really appreciate your support! Rick
Thanks for the post and you simply plug the receiver portion into the USB-C port under the cover on the bottom of the DJI RC and power up the mic. You will see a solid green light on the mic when its on. The to record audio, simply tap the screen and slide it down to reveal the main menus and you'll see a "screen recording" button. Tap that to start recording and tap "stop" when finished. The finished file is located in the "Movies" folder on the remote controller. Let me know if that works for you and if you're still having issues, shoot me an email - Rick@dronevalley.com
@Dronevalley Thanks Rick. I discovered I was plugging into the charging port on the RC controller instead of the data port next to the sd card. Once I connected to the correct port it worked real good. It also works very good on my Air2 smart controller. Thanks for your help.
@@travelingboz0214 I'm glad you got it sorted and it does work well for both controllers. You can also use it with your Android phone and we offer a small adapter for use with an iPhone on the website so it's really a pretty versatile product. Thanks again for your support!
@@Dronevalley thanks so much! I’m sure this is a dumb question but here goes! Do I need to have a micro sd card fitted in the RC to use an external usb-c mic in the port on the RC? And, if so, how do you sync the audio file with the video file (which I assume is captured on the sd card fitted on the drone)? Again, apologies for the dumb question. I’m a complete beginner.
Nope, the Android system is custom on the controller and only supports audio input through the USB-C. Our wireless mic is designed specifically to work with the controller and does a great job of allowing you to add audio. We also have wired versions.
Are you having the audio out of sync when doing screen recording with audio to the RC 2? I am not using a DJI mic or your kit and just wondered if the audio is usually in sync or do you have to fix it when editing?
Nope, the uadio is in sync with both the screen recording and even when I blend it with the HD video from the drone. We spent a lot of time finding and building the mic kits we offer and they work well. A lot of others we tested as part of the process didn't pan out.
Thanks Rick. I am having major out sync issues when screen recording with Audio from RC 2. What is odd, I chatted with DJI support and they had me upload a screen recording with audio out of sync. I did, but what was curious the mp4 showed up in the chat window and I could play it in the window. And when I did, everything was in sync perfectly!
I have beenwatching a few videos about rc pro and in one i watched it stated thet the rc pro will only record screen recording to the internal memory and not the sd card can anyone confirm this please .
Thanks for the post and you can do that by blending the audio from the screen recording with the footage from the drone in your editing software. That's what I do when I use the narration. It takes a little more work but the quality of the footage from the drone (4K) is much sharper than the screen recording (720/1080p).
As long as you're using any one of the Smart Controllers, the Drone Valley Wireless (or wired) microphones work well with all of them and will let you record audio while you fly.
Thank u sir for the info....I simply don't understand why they can't add a freaking muc on the drones....I mean those things cost soo much and they can't add a simple mic cmon @DJI
I do not have a M3P. Does the M3P also have an SD card slot on the drone itself? If so is the video higher resolution than the video sent to the RC? Thanks
I'm a bit late to the party, it seems to be sold out everywhere I look. Is there any way I could still get my hands on one? I'm in Europ by the way, if that matters.
We sold out of the wireless mics and have a large order arriving next week and are happy to ship one out to you. Check the website next week and they'll be available. Thanks for the support.
Thanks for your business. The wireless mics only work on the smart controllers and you have to be sure to plug it into the correct port. Once you do you can use the screen recording function to record the audio. I explain the process in this clip so let me know if you have other questions.
Thanks for the post and I'm sorry for the missing stock but they are super popular and we go through them quickly. We have both the USB-C version and the Wireless version of the mics in stock now and you can hit the link below to order either one of those. tinyurl.com/2ntj3yb8
I've sent you a few emails so please check your SPAM folder. Simply plug it into the "host port" under the rubber do on the controller and start a Screen Recording to capture sound. I explain it in more detail in the email so let me know you have it sorted. These were designed to work with the entire Smart Controller line (even the new DJI RC2) and work well.
James. I have been out of the office a bit over these last few weeks after knee surgery and am still catching up. Let me know what questions you have an I can do my best to answer them for you.
At 16:36 you say that it will record the audio from "whatever mike" you've got plugged in. Oh? Are you sure? Have you verified that? On how many different types of mikes have you verified that with? Any? As far as I can see, trying to make microphones that appear to be recognized by the software actually work in recording audio is a long, frustrating, time-wasting trip down flakiness lane. DJI's tech people seem to be as clueless or as confused as hell about EVERY aspect of recording audio on the Mini 3 Pro and no one dishing out simplistic assurances of how simple it is seems to give all the instructions to get it working.
Matt, the issue is always the Android tweaks that DJI adds (or removes) from the version they install. I think they've settle in now to a more regular version so all of these kits work on all of the controllers. I'm actually sending you a wireless kit and want you to be one of our field testers to let me know what you think. It will be there in a day or two and I'd like to hear your impressions of the kit. We're pretty proud of it. Rick
@@Dronevalley Rick I was just on your shop to buy the wireless version since I have a Mini 3 Pro now in addition to my Air2s with the smart controller. I have the new controller for the Mini 3. Thanks so much for sending me one to field test. I"ll run it thru it's paces on both controllers/drones and update you. I use Final Cut Pro and Premier to edit my videos so I could just boost the wireless audio in that software. Can't wait to get it and play!
Received your wireless mic today , 1st impression thumbs down. The part that plugs into my phone is not long enough. It hits the frame of phone before inserted 100% . Android s22 with otterbox
Thanks for the post and sorry that you're having issues but the wireless mic was designed and sold for the DJI Smart controllers to add audio to your videos and it works perfectly there. it will work with Android phones (and Apple with the optional adapter) but very few USB-C connectors are long enough to fit through the tiny slit on the Otterbox. You'll need a USB-C adapter (extender) like this one - amzn.to/42sLqoZ to make that work. I'm sorry you're having issues but it works as designed and you're trying to use it with something else. Let me know if you've tried it with your Smart Controller.
Wow! This guy is a salesman. I bought a USB C adapter for audio and it didn't work so I bought a USB C Wireless and it worked but the clip was too short. I then bought an Adoson, which is an EXACT duplicate of what he is selling, or should I say his is an EXACT duplicate of the Adoson. As long as you can contact the manufacturer, you can have anything made with your name on it. Anyway, the only two things I can say about the wireless is 1. it IS a really good mic if it's an Adoson duplicate. 2. Be careful bout the USB C connector as it might come loose and not work anymore. Be extra careful when unplugging it. I am meticulous about my things and the adapter still came loose after 2 months.
Thanks for the post and you analogy is a little flawed. There are a LOT of companies that "clone" existing gear by simply putting their logo on it, but we actually design the gear we sell. We have a group of Engineers on the Drone Valley team and start from scratch with all of the products we produce. In this case, the USB-C connection (and drivers in the OS) that DJI has implemented is odd and the main reason you were having so many issues finding a USB-C mic that worked. With our product we went through 5 revisions to finally create one that works on ALL of the smart controllers, and works really well. It may look the same as others but has a few advantages the others may not offer because a lot of companies skinny down the features to lower their price. For example, we have a pretty advanced noise-cancelling tech built in that will really knock down wind noise. Other models require a windscreen and have no noise control. We also use a larger battery in the mic than others so you can record longer on a single charge. We're also a small U.S. based company that will be here if you ever have questions or issues with the gear we offer. I know it's easy to assume that since a product looks similar that it's the same, but there are a lot of differences under the hood with the gear we design.
Nothing simple about it. It took us months to figure it out, and we wanted to make sure people knew how to do it. The whole point of our channel is to help flyers have more fun and explore the tech. I’m glad you found value in the clip
I guess if u don't have a dji drone this is not for u. I'm not a dji junkie sir so your vid is clearly not for me. When would these idiots realize that the whole world isn't dji???
Wish you could get in touch with DJI and talk to them about making a smart controller for the earlier mavic drones all-in-one screen everything everything because there are times when I need my phone and I don't have a tablet
RIGHT 👉 I have 4 Mavic Pro Platinum and would do ANYTHING to fly them with the original Smart Controller. Anything! ;-) 😍
Thanks Rick..I never knew my smart controller could record audio....I will
be buying your wireless mic from Drone Valley....GREAT!!! Advice and Video
Received my Adaptor and Lapel Microphone today. WOW is the audio crystal clear on my DJI RC. Thank you for a great product and super fast shipping.
Thanks for the post and I'm glad you're enjoying the external mic. It really does make a difference in the audio quality and it's great to hear that customers find it helpful. We appreciate your business!
What an excellently helpful and thorough video :)
The DJI RC PRO controller does have a speaker on the underside of the controller between the C1 and C2 customizable buttons.
Best regards,
Hey Rick. Great Video! I have to ask this question. I already have the DJI mic and was wondering if you had tested one with the Smart Controller?
I have the DJI mic too from my DJI Pocket 2. Was wondering the same thing.
Rick, Keep up the great work, your enthusiasm is unrivalled ..
That makes the RC controller more appealing to buy thank you great job ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m looking to purchase a Dji mini 3pro can’t wait to order accessories from your site. Thank you for your videos.
DJI RC 2 - Remote Smart Controller (RM331) this the one I have. So is there a setting in the menu to make it possible to use a USB microphone?
Sold Out? Any idea when your products will be re-stocked? Thank you Rick
Love your reviews! Professional and detailed. Nice job.
Great video.
1) today is 10/25/22. Is the wireless mic still working with the DJI RC (Mini 3 Pro)
2) When DJI RC does screen record, it will also record the telemetry as well?
Rick
Will the wireless one work with the Autel Evo 2 pro???
You just got your 500th like and a subscribe. Thank you I think this was my problem!
Thanks for this video - just got the AIR 3 and RC2, will your wireless audio mic work with that setup?
Looks a decent wireless mic, good price, just ordered one👍
Hi,
Where did you order? Is it po to buy in Aliexpress?

Thank you Rick! I’m gonna purchase the wireless one for my GEN 2 smart controller 2questions, are we going to see any goggles for the Mavic 3 2. transferring GEN 2 Smart controller video to iPad or iPhone thank you.
Hello, I have a mini 4 pro with RC2. Does it act like the rc you showed or is there a settint in the radio to set and how do I manage that?
Unfortunately this only works with a Smart Controller because it needs an operating system to work. If you're using one of the controllers that attaches to your phone/tablet (RC1,RC2) you won't be able to add audio to your flights.
Thanks for the video. I have one question: when I started the screen recording, do I need to record drone video too?
What is the exact video resolution when recording to the controller? What are the differences in file sizes?
I know that on my newer RC controller I can set the video resolution of my DJI drone either up or down within certain parameters.
I'm wondering how much difference there is between the resolution of the controller's screen recordings and the resolution set for the drone.
I recently got my Drone Valley Microphone kit in the mail. I"m just trying to find out exactly how best to set up up.
Great video, but I have the controller that connects to your phone. Is there a way to record audio?
thanks information
Great video. Ordered the wireless kit. What size windshield fits the wireless kit microphone?
Rick
@@Dronevalley Thanks, that was it, receiver not in all the way. It works great! Thanks for this great product!
Hi rick, thanks for video.I noticed the usb c mics for $2 on ebay..what are the specs of the ones you sell? they look identical...
@@Dronevalley Thanks, Will do😁👍🏾
@@Dronevalley I just posted my order for the wireless kit. Thanks! 😁👍🏾
Do you have a set up like this for the DJI Neo connected to the DJI RC2?
Yes, we developed an Audio kit that works with all of the Smart Controllers, including the RC2. We also offer the kit with an adapter that you can use with Apple products as well, if you're using your phone to record audio with the Neo. I'll be posting a clip showing how that works very soon but you can check it out here and we have plenty in stock - tinyurl.com/yckb9ans
In case you can’t open the Amazon link in my previous comment the microphone in question is a Cubilux USB C Microphone Compatible with iPad 10 iPad Pro iPad Air 5/4 iPad Mini 6, Samsung S22/S21/S20 Tab S8/S7/S6, Note 20/10, Pixel 7/6 Pro 6a 5 4, Type C External Lapel Lavalier Clip MIC, 5 FT
Will this work will the DJI RC PRO controller?
Rick
@@Dronevalley Thanks Rick. I placed the order for the wireless kit. Can’t wait to try it out on the two RC controllers!
Which is best for recording music for back round? And also how can I put my music on the drone video without the other stuff on the screen?
Thanks Rick.
Is there a TRRS to USB-C adapter, for stereo audio recording?
Thanks,
Lee
I’m using a USB C lavalier mic with my RC Controller...and icon comes up without a sound recording.. (not from this shop).
When will your mic be available again on your website?
Rick
Good video Rick. Some more nice gear.
a question regarding your wireless mic. what is the typical maximum and absolute maximum range possible between transmitter and receiver?
I'd like to know this for times where I have a subject that i might want to record with my drone would have different audio that I might have from my controlling position and am looking for a wireless mic that can do maybe 50-150 meters but more is obviously preferable.
Our wireless mic uses Bluetooth for connection and is good for about 30 feet of distance. That's plenty of range for this type of recording since you're holding the controller. There are other mics on the market that use 2.4 gHz and provide greater distance but they are much more expensive and we haven't tested many of them. I hope that helps, Rick
How do you pair the Drone Valley Wireless microphone with my DJI mini pro 3 ?
The mic is paired automatically when you power it up. You can simply insert the receiver into the USB-C port under the protective cover on the remote (not the one you're using for charging) and power up the mic. Start a screen recording and the audio will be added to the video you're recording on the controller. These files are saved under the "Movie" folder on the remote or SD card in the remote. I hope that helps and thanks for your business!
@@Dronevalley I’ve tried that and I keep getting numbers that i need to type in to get it to pair then it say pair was unsuccessful 🤷♂️
If I plug in an output from a two way Motorola radio to the adapter on the RC pro controller, would it capture audio?
Rick
is there any way to get real time audio monitoring w the 03 air unit?
I have the air 2s. Which controller is compatible with the air 2s and records audio?
Rick
Great info, Rick.

Hi, is it ok to ask questions here? I have one regarding the use of a usb-c mic with the mini 3 pro.
Steve, I do what I can to respond to questions in the comments so let me know what you need. Thanks, Rick
Can the controllers Bluetooth connect to wireless headphones? If yes can’t it record from the mic on the Bluetooth headphones?
Nope, the Android system is custom on the controller and only supports audio input through the USB-C. Our wireless mic is designed specifically to work with the controller and does a great job of allowing you to add audio. We also have wired versions.
I have a fimi x8 mini pro. How can I voice over on The video if possible
You are a fkin legend. Ty.
I've become a buyer now.
I have beenwatching a few videos about rc pro and in one i watched it stated thet the rc pro will only record screen recording to the internal memory and not the sd card can anyone confirm this please .
what if we want to use the audio that was recorded from the flight and add it to the drone footage - current footage has the maps /height text..
Thanks for the post and you can do that by blending the audio from the screen recording with the footage from the drone in your editing software. That's what I do when I use the narration. It takes a little more work but the quality of the footage from the drone (4K) is much sharper than the screen recording (720/1080p).
Can i recording my audio on DJI enterprise 3?
As long as you're using any one of the Smart Controllers, the Drone Valley Wireless (or wired) microphones work well with all of them and will let you record audio while you fly.
Rick, why is there a USB-C female port on the piece that plugs INTO the DJI RC?
That allows you to charge the controller and mic when you're using it if needed. You don't need to connect anything there under normal use.
Thanks
Yes. The M3 has a micro-sd slot like all the DJI drones. Up to 5.1k video resolution.
Is there a way to hide the UI when you screen record?
I'm a bit late to the party, it seems to be sold out everywhere I look. Is there any way I could still get my hands on one? I'm in Europ by the way, if that matters.
We sold out of the wireless mics and have a large order arriving next week and are happy to ship one out to you. Check the website next week and they'll be available. Thanks for the support.

Thanks I got it working now I guess it jus needed to be charged up a little bit

THE WIRELESS MIC DOESN'T WORK FOR ME on my DJI RC with the screen! Why?
I've sent you a few emails so please check your SPAM folder. Simply plug it into the "host port" under the rubber do on the controller and start a Screen Recording to capture sound. I explain it in more detail in the email so let me know you have it sorted. These were designed to work with the entire Smart Controller line (even the new DJI RC2) and work well.

James. I have been out of the office a bit over these last few weeks after knee surgery and am still catching up. Let me know what questions you have an I can do my best to answer them for you.
Says sold out for wireless.
Can't wait to see what you've come up with now since the first product that I bought didn't really work. Great idea.. we'll see. Great Video!
Hi rick
😎🤝🤟🏼
Anyway, the only two things I can say about the wireless is
1. it IS a really good mic if it's an Adoson duplicate.
2. Be careful bout the USB C connector as it might come loose and not work anymore.
Be extra careful when unplugging it. I am meticulous about my things and the adapter
still came loose after 2 months.
Too much talking for something so simple 😢
Nothing simple about it. It took us months to figure it out, and we wanted to make sure people knew how to do it. The whole point of our channel is to help flyers have more fun and explore the tech. I’m glad you found value in the clip
I guess if u don't have a dji drone this is not for u. I'm not a dji junkie sir so your vid is clearly not for me. When would these idiots realize that the whole world isn't dji???
How do you record sound with the mini SE ?
