The R142/As also has the 8 Thrid Ave Elevated line all the old stops between Gun hill road and south ferry. Pretty soon the R262/As will have the same exact 8/9 trains announcements. Including the powder blue 🔵 8 and the 🔴 red circle 9 I'm telling you. Just because the 9/8 are discontinued it doesn't mean it's mean anything anymore. However the 8/9 trains never sleeps Nurther dispares nonstopable .

Thrid Avenue Elevated line has a chance in the south. Never rebuild another elevated line in Manhattan again.
