    Great video! I enjoyed watching it. Thanks for the shoutout, brother! I can’t wait to see what you get. I bet that you won’t take the tour pack off as much as you think. Here’s a link to my thoughts on the Advanblack tour pack: th-cam.com/video/T31X-Xssf60/w-d-xo.html

    I just went through all this research since my wife and I were going on our first overnight motorcycle trip. I ended up getting a Harley Luggage Rack and Harley touring bag and I passed on the Tour Pack. I found I was able to take more items with me with the portable / removable luggage. I really enjoyed hearing your perspective sir!

    I bought a used tour pak for my 2014 Street Glide that color matched my bike and love it. As far as relocating your antenna all I did was went to Oreilly’s and bought a 8” antenna and it works fairly good on the open road. But saying that where I ride my stock antenna dint work all that great either. Good luck on your decision and ride on..

    Great video. I have been stewing about getting a Tour Pack for my 2019 RGS. AdvanBlack was top on my list because of the color scheme and the price. I may look into Harley for quality but it would have to outweigh the benefit. I have a question on how to use two cameras and have audio for both. I have used 2 cameras but because of where my mic is setup in my helmet, the audio from the second camera is really just muted and only video. Still learning that trick. Stop by anytime.

    • @Broncoride
      @Broncoride  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use the Sena 10C Evo for audio. I just use the other cameras for video and mute them when I edit. You can also wire a mic direct to the GoPro, but you need the mic adapter. A lot of people do that too. Same principal, use that as audio and mute the other camera in editing.

    Hi Collin I have both OEM and Aftermarket the thickness of the aftermarket is a little thinner. I have the aftermarket shaved tour pack and Harley king tour pack. I would spend the extra and go for the Harley pack what I would do though is go aftermarket for the lights or luggage rack. Knowing that you’re going to be taking it on an off it needs the structural strength.

    • @Broncoride
      @Broncoride  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t mention that but I have read the thickness is different. Thanks for the comment.

  • @tennwingman3350
    @tennwingman3350 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Colin, you do not want a lesser quality, You are going to want to put a luggage rack on top and use that extra space. With that being said, extra stuff has weight and the road will cause a lot of stress on the mounting points. I have seen the tops develop cracks where the rack mounts. If the fiberglass is thin the cracks could happen easier. I would also suggest to get the star washers, larger washers on the mounting points spread out the weight and resist that cracking. Just some thoughts I have had trunks on my last three touring bikes and I have seen too much weight cause damage. Go with the sturdiest one you can find. Once you have one you will love it. Or just trade bikes and get that 2020 Road Glide Limited, LOL

    • @Broncoride

    I have a removable ridgid luggage pack for the Victory. It fits on to the luggage rack and acts like a trunk when I need extra storage but is easily removable when I don't need it. I believe it cost around $200 I've had it 4 years, its seen many miles and served well

  • @MrRick5862
    @MrRick5862 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would recommend the OEM simply because the fit and finish of the passenger backrest looks to be better quality than the others. I would suggest checking with a few different Harley dealers and let them know you’re shopping the aftermarket selections and see if they are willing to discount some. Forget the trunk lights. The SpaceX astronauts can already see your tail lights from space!

    Before I traded the Street Glide, I put an Advanblack king tour pack on it. Had the luggage rack and liner, no lights. Holds two full face helmets or plenty of gear. It was gloss black and I didn’t see any difference in the color match. In my case, this was significantly cheaper than Harley.

    • @Broncoride

    I own an 18 Street Glide Special and I was in your exact same spot, which do I get? I went with HD, the quality in the seat was the kicker cause I saw one, Advan, and the seat didn't look that great after 2 seasons. The quality in the tour pak is top notch and of course the color match was perfect. It takes 2 minutes and its flawless everytime. My kids love it. My daughter has fallen asleep back there but the wrap around seat is perfect for her. I'm working on adding the full custom dynamics led light set in the future but thats another build, cheers, 😎😎😎

    This is the sort of conundrum I don't have to deal with, I only use a single tailbag, suits my needs just fine for trips I take (like the 800-mile one in WV I got back from last night). Of course I can't carry a lot of stuff, but rain gear, clean t-shirts and underwear and socks and a few other odds and ends all fit, so it works for me. Many years ago (1975) I rode from DC-LA and back and my "luggage" was an old Boy Scout knapsack tied to the back of the seat!

    I have an advan black chopped tour pack (that was bought by the previous owner) I use the shit out of it. All I can say is that it’s free king great. I mean you can’t fit a helmet in it unless it’s a half shell, but it’s a great bang for a buck. Liners are available, racks are available. Color was spot on (charcoal denim) no lights no gizmos but it has the holes pre marked in case you want to drill them. You can’t go bad with advan black especially if you want the quick change on and off. Good luck

      @@Broncoride In my case it was an optional item that the dealer had put on the bike in the showroom. I just said it had to be included to make the sale. If I was in your shoes, I'd look for something sturdy that will hold up and even if I had to have it painted locally, that would be ok, but I wouldn't suffer insufficient quality well. That's what turned me off to the Voyager. I had a 1600 Nomad and when I test rode a Voyager, I was like, this luggage kind of sucks. JMO and 2¢.

    If you have a CVO, I'd go with the Harley tour pack. Not only is the paint going to match but the hinges and latches are also painted body color. For the non CVO, both Hogworkz and Advanblack are perfect matches. Stay away from Amazon brands as I've seen many have issues with the quality of hardware and also alignment issues.

    • @Broncoride

      Both of those brands are solid. Almost went with Advanblack

    Check out the motorman videos he did a tour pak for his cop bike . Watch out for after market ones they maybe thin with crappie hardware . Check out E Bay maybe find a Harley one used . As far as paint I wonder what it would look like with a cool wrap maybe?? Good luck with whatever you do . Stay safe😬👍

      Broncoride,
      Live and learn. As far as TourPak® or not, I have a missus that I wanted to ride with and she had accessories and the more comfortable I make her, the better it is for me so an FLHTK was where I went. Wrecked that, as I’m sure you’re heard, but getting back to my true love - an FLRT. Specifically, a 2017 FLTRU. Excited!!

    Just buy a new ultra limited. The new GPS, heated grips, the 114 runs great and your Wife and Daughter will love it. If you choose to add the tour pack you can always ask your dealer for 10 or 15 percent off. A sale is better than no sale.

    Just like you i am also in the market for a tour pack and have been looking at the same 4 manufacturers, Hogworkz, Harley, Advanblack & Nastyhogs.
    Nastyhogs doesnt have my colour so they are out, if fact, they do not have many colours.
    Hogworkz was ok but found the more expensive and the reviews were not as favourable.
    that left me with Harley OEM and Advanblack
    I just ordered Lowers on April 3rd for my 2021 Street Glide from Advanblack and they said 6 weeks handling time and apparently its being delivered on April 12 - wow
    Harley wanted 12 weeks
    I will say this, if the colour match is as good as ive heard, i will be placing my order for a tour pack with Advanblack - The cost alone is $400 less than Harley and with Advanblack that will include a diamond stitched liner where Harley wants another $300 for a crappy felt liner.

    • @Broncoride
      @Broncoride  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. I ended up with OEM because I got a good deal on it. I have been told the color matching on the Advanblack is solid.

      @@Broncoride yea. you have a nice bike. I'd still have my 13 street glide if I didn't hit a deer and total it. Was a good excuse to get the ultra with the detachable tour pack. I actually ride more with the tour pack on than without. Just so darn nice having that extra room. Good luck.
