Beautiful soap. I have the same mold and log splitter. I chose the wrong setting on the splitter so my soaps are huge. Can you please tell me at what height do you set your own 2 or 2.5 inches? Thanks in advance for your response
The 25lb mold is for 5- 2.5” loaves. But you can set it to what you want. Cut a soap into different sizes and see which feels best in your hand. Then set you splitter to that :)
@@OpheliasSoapery thank you so much for your quick reply. Now I see the difference, my mold is 11lbs. I have it set at 2.5" but that gives me 4 loaves .

Wonderful colours, I was wondering about the coconut milk it seem to mix with the oils. I can use every kind of coconut milk o must be a special one?
You can use any kind. I like to use coconut cream because when I shake the can is mixes well. I find with coconut milk there is a thick layer on top of the can that never mixes in. But it’s personal preference! Do what works best for you :)

Beautiful. But is the coco cream an additive or a fat? How do i have to calculate it?
You can use 100% cocoa cream if you wanted. I add it as just an additive. I don’t like to use too much because it can cause your soap to overheat. I use 3% of my recipe. You would want to deduct that from your water. So if you’re using 3oz of cocoa cream you would deduct 3oz of water.

Ophelia, how much of a water discount do you do?
I use a 1.6:1 water/lye ratio but if you calculate the coconut cream with it. it ends up being 1.8:1 :)
