- My first TH-cam video! Where I show you how to create an amazing patina effect using acrylic paint. Heads up since this is my first TH-cam video, I’m honestly just winging it and doing my best. Editing is also not my strongest asset…..neither are voiceovers……or staying in frame….LOOK I’M TRYING.
Shout out to @VanOaksProps for teaching me the basics of this method and make sure to check out their channel.

*I misspoke in my video, two of the metallic paints are Folk Art Treasure Gold Acrylics and two are Jacquard brand acrylics. I know the paint colors names seem off in the material list, I go off the actual paint color (not paint names). Feel use to any similar colors to achieve this effect, the important part is that the metal paint colors (brown, copper and copper gold) are metallics.

Patina Recipe:
3 : 1 ( 3 parts water to 1 part paint)
This is completely backwsrds from what i had in my mind, i would have thought the patina wound have come last.
Thank you for giving me new ways of thinking about this.
Great thing about art is there are so many ways to do things and none of them are wrong. ✨
This was the perfect combination relaxing and gremlin energy. Much needed serotonin, thank you!
Thank you sweets 😘
Really enjoyed how calming yet slightly chaotic this was. Also all tutorials should have puppy breaks likes this 🥹
Thank you so much such a lovely comment

That subtle gold at the end makes a big difference.
Means a lot coming from someone with so much experience making content 🙌
Beautiful! Beautiful artist, beautiful video, beautiful art, and beautiful dog! Thank you!
Thank you for kind words ❤️
I love every single thing about this video. 😍
Thank youuuuuuu❤
This is a) the crispest most amazing to watch quality art video I've ever seen - b) the most honestly narrated tutorial I've ever watched, which felt SO down to earth and like I was just chilling making art with a friend!! I would love to see videos that have a tour of your studio, your favorite tools and how you care for them, etc etc etc I am hungry for more 🤩
YOU ARE THE BEST. I totally hope to do a studio tour one day! I knew going into this I wanted to remain authentic to who I am so I’m glad that came across in my sarcasm 😂
What a beautiful finish!
So glad you like it ❤️
That effect is really cool! Thanks for the guide and sharing your insight on the experience. I'm looking forward to trying it out.
Thank you friend 🙌
Oh my gosh that is gorgeous- I’ve been watching a lot of tutorials learning as I’m watching & your video is my favourite to watch…not just because puppy dog is in it either 😊🐶…this piece your friend created is just beautiful & the way you did the effect just takes it to another level.
I create acrylic resin pieces (Jesmonite if you’ve heard of that) trinket dishes / trays / candleholders and am starting to create this effect & love how I comes out…find this technique lends itself to be done on pieces that have some relief on the surface as opposed to a flat surface so I’ll be experimenting with adding some modeling paste to some of my pieces to create that interest 😊
Thank you for your kind words I hope you can enjoy using this technique.
Nicole this turned out beautiful and the quality of this video was 🔥 great work buddy 🎉

OMG HI BAYBEEEEEEE THANKS FOR THE GREAT VIDEO AND BEING A GREAT FRIEND I LUH YEW!!!!!
*hugs your face* LUB YOU TOO
would it be easier to mix the patina paint and water in the cup first and then pour it into the spray bottle?
Sure would. Which I’ve since figured out after using this technique more. But I’m pretty sure that’s what the original tutorial I learned from showed, so I just followed that 😂
I love the video! You have a nice calming voice like Bob Ross! But I do have a question, do you use the dry brush technique for the copper and gold colors too?
Thank you! Yes, all steps but the first (black) are dry brushing. I should of put that in the video. Rookie mistake 😂
Just found your channel fabulous fairy ❤❤xx
✨ Welcome Welcome ✨
I have a piece that I spray painted copper. Can I still do the same effect and if so what order do I apply the paint.
You can either start over and paint it black and then add the colors over. Or you start from the copper and add the patina and highlights. But you may not get the depth or definition of details without the black base coat under the copper and patina.
The cat goblin might also be a gremlin.
Oh you’re right!
Is the black just acrylic paint?
Sure is!
Positive reviews extra points for doge
Glad you enjoyed her ✨
Good luk
Thank you so much ✨
Hope TH-cam treats you well
Thank you so much ❤️
Complete ignorant question here: why use the matte finish instead of a shiny one?
Preference! ✨
this is very misleading when you say it doesn't have to look perfect.. and then you go ahead and make it look perfect!!
Sorry 😂
Too much talk.
Thanks for the engagement 👌
