@@rmelita6474 oh my, OMG, I've actually owned both the VHS and recording since I was about 12 years old...🤦🏻♂️ It's great stuff but Mozart is its own thing, and I have several other pianists that I prefer (long list, lol!). Horowitz is the ultimate romantic interpreter, and of course no one understands the Russian repertoire nor can play it quite like he does.👍🏼🙏🏼

Les tempi , la respiration , un très discret ornement ça et là , et cette tension / attention entre tous les participants , chef , pianiste, cordes : tout est parfait , juste , réfléchi , profond .... ( Et le beau visage de moine orthodoxe de Radu Lupu en prime ! ... )
Bravo tu as tout bien dit! Just un petit détail, le chef conduit la musique, mais Radu Lupu nous fait cadeau de cette musique divine, l'orchestre aurai pu faire beaucoup mieux si elle avait été bien aidée... La musique, surtout celle de Mozart, ne doit pas être conduite, mais elle doit être vécue

Je crois qu'avec Mozart il y a des oeuvres dans l'interprétation desquelles on reconnaît un vrai mozartien : l'adagio du 23ème concerto c'est l'examen suprême pour moi ! Il y a un paquet de pianiste de renom qui s'y sont cassé le museau en se trompant de ton , justement parce qu'ils cherchaient un ton : Hélène Grimaud, Adam Laloum pour ne citer qu'eux, se trompent en imaginant un moment "romantique" , et en recherchant l'expression là où justement Mozart ne dit RIEN. "Beauté belle non par ce qu'elle exprime mais par sa beauté seule" disait Ph. Jaccottet.. Bon, j'arrête mon cours de musicologie

I think there are (were) no better pianists than Radu Lupu and Alfred Brendel. Well, maybe Andor Foldes... What a clear, but unspectacular, almost humble way of making music :)
