Some things to look for if you ever do a rewatch:
Every time Pearl covered her mouth.
How gems have to put in codes for gem tech they find, but Steven could aleays control them just by touching them.
Not to mention glowing pink. While initially it makes sense since his gem is pink, it doesn’t make sense that literally ALL controls for technology should respond as pink when he interacts, since some of it should have restrictions and be generalised.
After seeing Paula's reaction to the Rose=PD reveal, all I could think about was how happy I am that she didn't have to wait 2 months to see the next episode. For those of us who were following the show as it was airing, that Cartoon Network put a 2 month gap between "A Single Pale Rose" and "Now We're Only Falling Apart" was torturous. And it led to a lot of misguided discussions about Rose at the time. Just another way that Cartoon Network really did this show no favors.

But now you understand why Pearl was really upset over the fact she never knew Rose had a lion (technically a pride of lion's). It was because what she said about Rose telling her everything was true. She had been with her since she was Pink Diamond and entrusted with so many important secrets. So her never telling Pearl about this magical lion she had with a pocket dimension inside his mane and where she hid her sword before Steven was born was mind boggling to her. It doesn't justify what she said to the others though.
And it explains why Pearl put herself on the front line for Rose during the war. If Rose got poofed and everyone saw her gem was a diamond's instead of a rose quartz, that would be the end of that. Pearl would be replaced and Pink would be in huge trouble with the other Diamond's. Pearl defended Rose by sacrificing herself, regenerating, and repeat to not risk Rose's identity being revealed.
I've watched a fair few Steven Universe reaction series and y'all are easily my favorites. I look forward to your reactions every week. You guys just get this show on an emotional and intellectual level that a lot of others don't. I've always thought that SU was made for a very specific kind of person and I think you two fit that audience perfectly. And it's just a treat to see because when you're truly receptive to everything the show is saying and doing, SU really is magical.

Been waiting for this reaction for months!!! So glad to see Paula finally learn the truth about Rose. It really clears up a lot about Rose, Pearl’s behavior, and Pink Diamond’s “shattering”. Pearl has covered her mouth many times when she attempts to speak about anything related to the truth, since it was her diamond’s final order. It also explains why Pearl never shapeshifts, since the last time she had to do it was to fake her diamond’s shattering
Interestingly, when I first watched the series, I had assumed Rose Quartz was somehow Pink Diamond from the moment it was suggested that there WAS a Pink Diamond -- Rose, Pink; Quartz, Diamond -- but then as the seasons went on and on without that potential connection being expanded upon, I thought, I guess not, and assumed they were doing some sort of a Subverted Trope. But nope! Once they had convinced us all they WERE in fact separate individuals, THEN they flipped the script back again! Boom, double flip!
My fave detail in a single pale rose - Pearl has a collection of numbers. Girls got rizz
The number of times we've seen Pearl clasp her hands over her mouth when Pink Diamond stuff came up, well, it's not a lot, but enough that it blows your mind on a rewatch.
One of my favorite details though is all the way back in the season 1 episode Secret Team. When Amethyst tells Pearl to try shapeshifting, Pearl has a very weird and flustered reaction. Even in Cat Fingers, she kinda dodges the question about whether she can do it. It's clearly something she avoids because it's traumatic for her.

you’re way too harsh on lapis and the lack or empathy is gross. you have no idea the amount of trauma she carries from the war. ptsd doesn’t just disappear over night. for two people who cry over any and everything under the sun you’d think you’d be a little more sensitive to other people’s feelings.
i thought the same. lapis is so traumatized it's not wonder she can't face it again. ptsd is very serious disorder

Just found your channel and have binged everything. Have you guys watched owl house before?
This is one of the episodes that makes you go back and rewatch the entire series and seeing all the little clues and hints snuck in pointing to this very thing and see so much of it through a new lens as to why some characters are acting the way they do. And of course the going forward drama that Steven inherited not just his mom's powers but some of her memories, those dreams, like a CPU that wasn't fully wiped before being installed with new software into a new computer.
You know how broken is Pink when you see how she thought that Blue and Yellow would not care on her death.
I wonder what would be the catchphrase for Gravity Falls. "Galliprey Gals get weird"?

God I've been waiting for Paula's reaction to this for SO FUCKING LONG and it didn't disappoint!
I know people have issues with the Rose=PD twist but it honestly brings the entire show together in a way that just wouldn't add up if it didn't happen-looking forward to the next few eps, one of the best arcs in the show
