Hello, everybody!
WOW. This screwed my head up.
So "Can't Go Back" was both a surprise, and not a surprise at the same time.
Surprise: Because we finally saw Lapis again after she fRICKIn LEFt--
Not Surprise: She immediately was edgy again and made yet another stupid decision.
"A Single Pale Rose", however, was a complete surprise.
I had already known that Pearl was probably the one to shatter Pink Diamond, but WOW. They basically teased everyone by "confirming" the Pearl theory, then they decided to murder your mind instead.
I honestly did not expect that particular theory to even be relevant at this point, but holy shit they were right.
Not sure when the next Steven Universe episode is, so that's fun-

The Crewniverse pulled an Alex Hirsch. People predicted the original twist with Stan's twin right from the getgo. So Alex Hirsch posted a photo of McGucket writing the journals, and then the original people were right.

@@simonsaysdie3155 a very large portion of the fanbase accurately predicted that Rose was Pink Diamond, before we had even met any of the diamonds. Since then it felt like a lot of the details that could have been clues were actively made to make it seem less likely

thats why it was so genius! it seemed so obvious, but then there were so many things disproving it and everyone mocked this theory by like the 3rd or 4th season, it didnt even sound like a possibility by then. Then it turned out to be real but like in a way no one had thought. This is why this show is so good

Lapis didn’t betray anyone. She’s not obligated to stay on Earth. She’s afraid. She’s experienced so much pain and suffering, being trapped in the mirror for thousands of years by her own people, the threat of the diamonds, and the experiences she’s had with Jasper, it makes sense why she left. Not everything ends the way you want it to. Lapis isn’t gonna stay just because of a few rosy words. She’s scared of what the diamonds will do because she knows their power.
That realization. All that moment of silent needed was the Jepardy music.
I’m SO glad I wasn’t the only one who didn’t get it at first. I thought she was just transforming into Pink Diamond and faking her death. It was only when Steven said “Rose was Pink Diamond” I LOST MY MIND!

I saw the bomb spoiler and trust me... avoid it at all costs. The crewniverse was so sad about this leak and the fandom was furious at CN. It reveals some huge stuff.
I personally think that her "complaining" to the other diamonds about how difficult it was to keep the colony running was her way of trying to save the Earth by making it seem like it wasn't worth the trouble to obtain it. That's just my way of looking at it, since we don't fully know yet if it was entirely just a selfish act to get away from the whole being a diamond/leader thing.
I know some people have decided that they hate PD/Rose after this episode and that's fine, you can feel what they want. I'm gonna wait till we get more information or maybe even flashbacks to see what she was thinking/feeling, since of right now the only people that know that are PD and possibly Pearl (but probably not as much).
And since we know PD and Rose are the same person basically, we can look at the past scenes with Rose as a way to help establish PD's character. Some people think after this that Rose never really loved any of the gems or humans (she saw them as Pearl said "as a novelty at best"). And I do think that the love she feels for the Earth and the organic life might not be an ideal kind of love, at least at first, but I do think she cared deeply about protecting the Earth and its way of life. This kinda ties into the lyrics of "Love like you" and gives the song new feelings behind the words. Man, this turned out way longer than I thought it would, sorry.
Glad to see I wasn't the only one who was totally confused by that ending until Steven straight-out said it...

I thought they were still not the same people, and that they defeated hid Pink Dimond somewhere, and just faked her shattering.
EpikBecky I just thought pink diamond was pretending to be a rose quartz and our rose was somewhere else entirely, until I realised the way they were talking to each other (and that pearl was also blushing)
I realized it since Pearl called her "My Diamond" after Pink (In a Quartz's body) shapeshifted back into herself.
Also when she literally said "my last order to you as a *diamond*"
So I really don't know how people can be that slow to realize it until the ending

I'm also liking how they're dealing with lapis' issues. Lapis seems to be someone with serious depression disorder. I'm not surprised she has it either since she's someone who has been through a war and trapped for a thousand years, being used as a tool, an object. This is some fucced up sheet. Depression episodes could relapse so easily, you would rather run away from everyone you love despite knowing they love and care about you. I only have it mild, the pain lapis is going through every single day, I couldn't imagine.

You’re not the only one who thought that Pink and Rose were still two separate entities at first XD I think it was because I just had completely counted out that theory having any sort of possibility and the reveal just completely blindsided me. Even after I realized the truth when Pink said “Soon it’ll just be Rose” I still had so much trouble believing it. I was so confused for the rest of the episode!

Oh my gosh, saaame!! I thought rose was pretending to be Pink Diamond, while the real Pink Diamond was bubbled somewhere safe. I watched it the 2nd time to realize that Rose is Pink Diamond. Btw, It kinda hurts me that rose wasn't real and is just a cover up gem form. But then again, Garnet isn't a real gem race and is just a fusion. So I'm sure I'll be use to Rose being Pink Diamond just like Garnet being a fusion. (But at least the Rose Quartz gem race exists)
