They fully ruined Barry's character in the later seasons. He's never right anymore. He's always fucking wrong and Iris is always right, and even when it's the other way round, they never fuckin acknowledge it!

This is a weird problem I have with the show, but one thing that has bugged me for a while is how the speedsters tend to use lightning more as their power than their speed. The finale of season 7 shows this really evidently imo

I think the new problem is the fact that they keep introducing new characters with very weak storylines. Barry has no growth and hast to learn a lesson every episode. Iris is shown to be always right about her decisions. In contrast to Superman and Lois show, it has both Clark and Lois complementing each other.

You had played the clip where Iris tells Barry they are The Flash. It was cringed. Barry has never claimed to be a part of Iris’ news team which is odd since she wrote stories about The Flash. In Superman and Lois, Lois hasn’t ever claimed “they are Superman” because the show Lois as strong character as reporter and mother who helps Clark make decisions. We have seen Clark stop Lois from making mistakes and Clark was shown to be right. We have never seen Barry cautioned Iris and he was right. You are right that Barry feels like.a supporting character to Iris. I had a discussion with someone how being a reporter gives you the skills to run a team. They could have small scenes where Iris starts to learn how to lead or even flashbacks where she starts to pick up the knowledge. Lois was already established as hardened reporter with the clout to back her up. If they had done something like that with Iris, it would be more believable. I think the comparisons are interesting between these two couples. Even comparing the children and the interactions with their parents is interesting.
Everyone on team flash makes the "right" decision except Barry ... A lot of the flash characters stopped being likable to me because of it like Joe, Iris and Cisco a bit too.
@@RicardoMercy Plus, i think there has been a shift from Barry seeking wisdom from Joe and Cisco to Iris. All the new characters seemed to know more about is going on than Barry who should have the experience from everything he has seen and been through. It seemed unlike Joe that he would turn in his badge like he did this season. He did a lot for the police force. Joe’s side quest was boring and did really nothing for the show. The goodbye episode for Cisco was nice but his girlfriend’s party seemed out of place as if they had been this team that we followed for the same amount time.

Yes! I like the Idea of Iris kind of taking up an HR kind of role. She doesn't need to be smarter than them, but pitch Ideas and as a journalist use her understanding of people to help.

Yeah this show has become the anyone but the Flash show... And I'm insulted that they haven't done any character development for Caitlin for SEASONS. Frost sure, but not Caitlin. It's like the writers forgot that they're 2 separate people. They had to dumb down not only Barry, but the entire team when Iris became team leader. Like they were suddenly helpless and didn't know what to do until Iris made a decision.
They can't decide whether Killer Frost was a name Caitlin gave herself after getting powers, a split personality in her mind or a completely separate person from her entirely.
Yeah they literally threw the script writing after season 2. I mean in season 7 the way they revive the speed force with iris is totally bullshit. It kills all the wells that has multiversal energy to generate it but somehow iris generates it with love wtf is that? That's not all even the finale episode they said iris has a little bit of speed force inside of her. I would be fine if she was pregnant at the time because of infant nora/bart (i don't know if they are twins or just normal siblings) but if the say because she once have barry's speed that would be full of crap. Iris didn’t regenerate the Speedforce with love. It was with the spark. If you remember in season 1 in a flash back while Barry was in the comma iris touched his hand and she literally got shocked. Then later on in Season 1 she touched The Flash and again got literally shocked. Which is how she found out Barry was the flash.That was what was used to restart the Speedforce.
People could be smart but terrible leaders. Also people that aren’t as smart could be great leaders. If you take Arrow for example Oliver in the beginning is not good with computers but telling Felicity to hack. He’s telling someone smarter than him what to do. Kind of Iris.

I would've killed Iris in season 3, but not for Savitar to create himself. But to prove a point, that no matter how many Villains he defeats, no matter how many people he saves, it will never be enough. This would cause Barry to almost go insane, season 4 would be him just obliterating everyone. Killing Villians instead of capturing them. More of his friends would die, Cisco would be killed and Joe. This would make Barry realise that the only way to save the ones he cares about will be to isolate himself completely. In season 5, he would quit his Job and kick everyone out of Star labs. With no one to ground him to reality, he would just be the flash. I'd have the Flash almost have PTSD, where he lives the death of Iris every night. And then we'd follow the new 52 flash and end it at Iris's grave.

as long as Eric Wallace is the showrunner, this show will continue to disappoint, he has no idea what he's doing and it shows with all pointless side characters who have absolutely no use to the show and the cringe pep talks that no one cares about.
Remove Iris’s character and there is still a chance that flash becomes one of the best superhero tv show. Because of how annoying her character got (no hate towards the actress though, only the character she plays) I stopped watching the show after crisis on infinite earths.
I wish that would solve the problem. Unfortunately if that was to happen that would just mean that Barry would be sidelined for another character like they did with in the episodes revolving around, Chester, Cecile, Allegra, etc..
Should have left her dead after Savitar or recast AND rewrote her. I don't hold anything against Candice but she just doesn't work as Iris. I hate her character and she doesn't have chemistry with Barry. The relationship feels contrived

The theme of “family” and the so called “power of love” just absolutely cringed me in this season, especially in the Forces storyline. It really bothered me each time that the New Forces referred each other as siblings and its even worse when they refer Barry and Iris as their “parents”… Like NO stop! Literally three of them were just normal humans born to completely different parents who just happen to come in possession with the new forces that Barry and Iris created with “their love” 🙄. So now automatically they are considered their children?????
I really hate forces storyline, I really want forget about that 🤮🤮🤮🤮. The worst storyline ever. Froeces storyline make savitar and season 5 storyline look master piece.
I also hate how people defend the pep talks with "That's part of Barry's character. He tries to see the good in his enemies." No. Seeing the good in them would be trying to talk sense into villains who have remorse for their actions and get them to turn themselves in and if that doesn't work fight them. Not thinking that saying "You don't have to do this" will instantly redeem them then just speeding off and letting them go. Nor is it turning someone good by holding hands with them. Especially Eva, who trapped Iris in a mirror, sent a clone of her to Barry, a clone which basically raped him.

Just look how Barry treated his dead best friend Oliver. He was willing to make Oliver sacrifice mean nothing just becasue he wanted to keep his children.Another strong example of bad of a character Barry has gotten is when he decided not to show up for Frost trial or help her avoid facing Prison like he did with Caitlin back in season 3.He just left her to dry when she needed him. Also he has been very standoffish with Caitlin,Joe ,Chester,Cecile,along others. It's so ironic that the only two characters(Oliver and Caitlin) that stood by Barry when he created flashpoint,he has disrespect them the most compared to everyone else. Trying to make things weird, you can technically say that Barry and Iris can be seen as brother and sister. Since Joe, Iris dad, is Barry's guardian/Foster dad.
Iris felt like she’s a heavyweight that stands in Flash’s character development and plot development of being the best CW superhero that could’ve equate to or surpasses the Arrow.
It was the same with Lana in Smallvile. Lois helped and encouraged Clark to become Superman. Lana held him back from that. He could both be a hero and be with Lois. But Lana was willing to deprive the world of a great hero just so she could have a superpowered boyfriend to bang.
Devoe actually did use melting points ability when he transfered fiddlers power to an argus agent and attacked a few agents but other that he never uses it again

This has been a problem since season 4 during the episode flashtime they show us just how fast Barry can run and then later in the season he gets incapacitated by the Thinker. How do you take down someone that moves faster than light, How do Someone take you down if you see them move in slow motion when your going fast? This is why I personally think the first three seasons have the best villains while usually I dont like someone who faces someone else with there same powerset it works really well in season one two and three. Because Not only does Thawne, Zoom, and Savitar have his powers but there better at being a Speedster than he is and they in a way forced him to improve forced him to get better add to the fact that they were also Speedsters so they could see and comprehend and attack Barry which is something the thinker can't do if Barry wasn't so incompetent The Thinker would have been locked up a couple times over. I think Bloodwork worked pretty well he was mostly a psychological threat and could really get into the flash's head literally. Like for real Barry's monologue about all that being the flash has taken away from him was Goddamn powerful and I was completely on board with Flash going evil Season 6 part B was okay and I've yet to watch season 7 I'm going to watch it all when it comes out on netflix
This show has become the same level of quality has Supergirl or even worse. On the first half why da fuck is Barry treating the Speed Force has a human? and why does the Speed Force behave like a human? It's so ridiculous seeing Barry having lunch with the Speed Force. Also why is him and Iris treating grown up strangers like family? Has I recall they only created the forces not the people which the force is attached to right? Then on the second half of the season Barry just knows how to conjure lightning from seeing Godspeed do it...and was it just me that didn't understand why was godspeed with amnesia and how was he able to Turn himself into Multiple Godspeeds with different faces? Instead of developing him when he is free of his memories and make him likable, they almost don't show him at all and without hesitation he accepts getting his evil memories back... They wasted so much potencial. He could have not wanted his memories back but then he ultimately has to to save Someone. Another thing, what was up with the music choice for some fight scenes. It didn't feel like the flash at all just like the scenes between killerfrost and that other guy which I forgot the name of. Lastly, fuck Allegra...no Cares about her or her sister ( Allegra's actress is not very good either). The characters seem totally different. It's not the Flash anymore...I'm sad to say this but I want it to end. EDIT: Somethings I forgot to metion is like how giving iris speed is helpful in a fight? she's suppose to be a beginner with the Speed Force. The other thing is like the real Barry would never bring back the Reverse Flash. He shits on his daughter for working with Thon and then he does the same... why would anyone bring back one of the most smart, impredictable and sycopathic person that flash knows, and the person he hates the most, when he also knows at least 4 real hero speedsters who could help him (Wally, his two sons and Jay Gerrick) even though he's faster then all of them and could easily defeat Godspeed by himself...and if he can ask the Speed Force to bring a speedster back to life why not jessie quick? She's a hero not fucking Reverse flash and then let him run away? to just kill more people? wtf? A thing that also bugs me is the fact not only iris but most of team flash knows it all except barry... Most of team flash characters stopped being likable to me because of this. One more thing, there was barely space on this season for barry to shine and then they decide to do a separate story line with kramer that doesn't even connect with the main one... really?

Barry Allen is the slowest man alive that he needs team flash to hold his hand for EVERY villian of the week he faces and its sad too! Not to mention Barry and iris are technically adopted siblings and Barry simps for her 7 seasons straight Barry is a SIMP!
I was never a westallen shipper, but I still liked Iris and Barry's characters as individuals until they started dating. In Season 3 I never thought for a second they would actually kill Iris, then at the end of 3x22 I thought "They actually did it, this is surprising and amazing" then they retcon it 10 seconds into the next episode and I started hating both Barry and Iris.
Kill off iris. Stop with the obsession with parenthood. Write off every character possible that isn't actually important. Get rid of all the extra speedsters. And then, after that, give Barry his job back and let him be smart. You can make better antagonist and give him some emotional arcs. And hopefully make a better show.
With regards to Lois being a grounding force for Superman/Clark, I'd say it's more of a 2-way street. Clark was born with his abilities, he didn't acquire them. While he had to learn how to control them better later in life, he's always used them, they were always a part of him. His parents are what grounded him initially. Lois, on the other hand, would almost certainly get lost in her work if she didn't have Clark to reel her in once in a while. I think it's more that they balance each other out. This is solely based on them without kids, not as they're portrayed on Superman and Lois, which is excellent.
I personally think that iris being pushed into a main character has something to do with race.... hear me out now. I'm no expert and I don't know Eric but the way that iris just goes full on impish character out if nowhere seems to be the whole strong black woman trope, amber from invincible being another example of this. There's no reason that she should not still be a badass journalist who happens to be married to the flash but we have this we are the flash nonsense and yeah. Well, at least INVINCIBLE is a way better show. Amber did seem meme-like sometimes, but that's okay, she's not as insufferable as Iris imo. I direly miss the portrayal of Iris in say, the DCAU Flashpoint. Even when it was just for a couple of minutes, the portrayal was far better than hours of CW hogwash.

They changed Oliver's main romance from Laurel to Felicity, never understood why Barry couldn't end up with Caitlin or Patty, fans overall seem to like those 2 more than Iris (at least the Arrowverse Iris). Barry had better chemistry with the other 2 as well, such a shame

I always hated that "We are the Flash" line. Plus, how was Iris able to lead Team Flash when she is probably the least qualified character in the series?
My alternate take: 1. Barry was never gone back in time to save his mother at the end of season 2, however the Savitar storyline continued. 2. S3 ends with Iris dying, so after all the pain that Barry has taken, he realized that he couldn't keep going forward with his life, so he decides to go back in time to save his mother. 3. Flashpoint starts in S4 and it last much longer till the end of the season instead of one single shitty episode, Cisco is replaced by Chester, Caitlin is replaced by Allegra, there's a new Harrison Wells and Max Mercury is The Flash. 4. Savitar is immune to timeline changes, he senses that something went wrong and that captures his attention, so in some way later he's going to be involved again into Flashpoint. 5. At some point of the story, Barry loses his speed and he starts losing more memories of the original timeline, later with the help of Chester and the team, Barry finds a way to regain his powers by recreating the same accident that made him become Flash (basically the Runway Dinosaur episode never happened in S2, so i thought it would be smarter to save it much later for Flashpoint). 6. In the last episode Barry accepts Iris's death and he finally defeats Savitar by also telling him "i'll never let the pain and darkness, determinate who i am, i'll never be like you." 7. After Savitar got defeated, Barry finds out that he secretely planted a powerful unstoppable nuclear bomb strong enough to destroy Central City, Max Mercury tells Barry that he can't do anything about it and he needs to run back in time to fix everything, the two shares an emotional farewell and Barry runs away, the bomb violently explodes erasing Max and everyone in the city, Barry weakened manages to go back in time to stop himself before he saves his mother in order to fix the original timeline. 8. Returned to the original timeline, Barry finds out his lightning changed from yellow to blue and he's worried that he's dying just like Zoom, Cisco is surprised and he funnily explains to Barry that the reason why his lightning changed is because his connection to the Speed-Force increased a lot, which makes him way more powerful and faster than ever before. Cisco then gives to Barry a new suit as a gift, straight from the New 52 comics with the golden boots. 9. After having reunited the team again, later Barry and Caitlin pays homage to his family's grave and Iris in the cemetery: Barry: Joe offered to take me so many times, i always found an excuse to say no *takes the Runaway Dinosaur book* my mom and i read this when i was a little, do you know it? Caitlin: oh that book? Yeah! My mother used to read me that everytime before i go to sleep, i once wanted my father too to read it for me but he never did it.... Barry: why? Bro you just pissed the hardcore West-Allen fans… and I LOVE IT. Everything you’ve said is facts bro. And the most annoying thing is their love isn’t even equal. To me, Barry loves Iris way more than Iris loves him. In season 3, Barry was willing risk heaven and hell to keep Iris alive, while Iris had no problem with their DAUGHTER working with the man who MURDERED HER GRANDMOTHER. But then again, Barry has worked with Thawne now like three times now so this show is fucking dogshit now. I’m so mad too because The Flash was excellent it’s first two seasons. I'm ngl, I stopped watching the flash after crisis on infinite earths. I also missed like half of season 5. The show just wasn't "the flash" anymore. It was the "Iris and Barry" show now. I think a show that did a main romance properly is superman and lois. You would think that the cw learned from the success of superman and lois and put it into the flash but nvm.

The problem with the Flash in the later seasons is that they changed the writers, and the new writers didn't want to use anything from the previous seasons. Basically they went woke trying to make Iris always right and making her more of the main focus of the show.

At least in Dexter Season 7 the writers were smart enough to drop the stupid "Deb loves Dexter" plot they started in Season 6. The same can't be said for the Flash writers who despite Barry being adopted by Joe and growing up in the same house as Iris think them being married isn't the slightest bit awkward even though it is. People fancying their siblings blood or adopted is incest.

I have always said this since the end of season 6, that Eric Wallace doesn't know what he's doing with the show and is ruining it. Also, Barry actually did create his own tidal wave in the "Out of Time" episode in Season 1 before the timeline resets.
I agree with everything you said up to the tidal wave by Barry. In that episode Mark Mardon created the tidal wave and the flash created that sorta wind wall to block the tidal wave from hitting the city. But none the less I agree Eric Wallace does not know what he is doing
I really hate Iris, at least what she devolved into. For being the "fastest man alive" he sure comes late most of the time, like, the motherfucking Flash can reach absurd speeds yet doesn't show off most of the speed powers.
Superman and Lois is a good show because you know the plot revolves around Superman A and Lois B. But when the show is called The Flash (Barry) and not The Flash and Iris the show no longer makes sense bc The main character always feels sidelined

It's not just the crazy fans of the Iris character but the loony fans of Candice Patton the actress as well. They're convinced that anyone who doesn't shower her with unending praise is an evil racist. They've also got this crazy idea that because Patton and Danielle Panabaker who plays Caitlin aren't friends off set that somehow makes Panabaker a racist who's trying to "upstage" Patton and have her kicked off the show. Candice Patton fans using her race to shield her from criticism, claiming criticisms unrelated to her race are only being made because of it and using it as a convenient excuse to insult anyone who knows she's just an actress not some perfect goddess seem like the real racists to me.

And from what I've read it's about to get even worse in Season 8 because the main plot is supposed to be about Iris having a "time sickness" whatever that is. Ok so problem is Eric Wallace...get that guy out of our favourite show. Note that season 6 part A had great plots...partly becuz Eric wasn't writing for the show and there was probably good writers at the start to help with the set up of crisis but then kinda dipped with post crisis events with a shitty villain. But still on top of things...with the side plots and iris actually being relevant rather than some leader or some shit. And then season 7 happened and oh lord... Atp Eric Wallace maybe had 1 good season out of 4 seasons he had contributed in. And that is not good.

Season 3 may had some missing plot points and rushed characters, and trying to save iris all the time, Savitar kept me interested for the rest of episodes and he is the god of speed unlike godspeed.

I dropped the show when the female version Mirror Master was released from her mirror prison. The show became boring, the characters became stale and Team Flash was full of these reject sidekicks (photography girl, cheap Cisco and UV light girl). Iris is treated like she's as smart as Cisco and a better Dr than Catilin. I watched for The Flash, not for Team Flash. Also repetition of everything.
I stopped watching Flash after the Crisis. Although I will say one thing that has stayed consistently good in the show even at its worst, is Reverse Flash. I have little to no complaints about him, he is always given great dialogue, his acting has been great (both actors did an awesome job), and he is a fan of the flash like the comics so he references Flash events and Flash characters. The only problem I guess he has is “how the hell is he still around even after the timeline is fixed”, the comics have the same problem, but I digress.
I didn't want anything more than I wanted Snowbarry for literally my whole life. The showrunners just screwed up the show by forcing WestAllen to happen but it just caused Iris to be toxic and unsymphatetic at all. I like WestAllen too but only in comics, Snowbarry should have been the endgame in the show. Like, c'mon, you have a gorgeous young scientist with genius level IQ who actually cares about you and there is an undeniable tension between you two but showrunners are forcing you to be with a journalist girl who doesn't give a shit about what you think and didn't even open a book cover to read it. Damn it... I can't believe that they couldn't have a chance to be together at least for an episode (I prefer a season but whatever.) Their couldn'-happened-love-story made me write my own fan-fiction and it's so embarrassing... Just for the record one more time: I LOVE CAITLIN SO FUCK YOU IRIS.
Barry and iris seemed way more in love in the early seasons later it seemed more like they were friends who get along, lack of kisses, lack of intimacy, all plays a part.
I used to watch the Flash religiously, until after season 4. I think they should have did what Arrow did with Oliver/Felicity and NOT have Barry and Iris together. Hell, Linda Park was on the show and did have relations with Barry but nope; Iris was just too good. Funny how when in the first season, Iris was going to stay with Eddie regardless of the future that was set, but God forbid Barry looking for any type of relationship outside of Iris. Trying to make Iris the "center" of attention works against her and her character development. I don't want to say this considering the whole politics thing but as soon as Supergirl came to the CW, "Girl Power" happened. I have no problem with this, but the show is called "THE FLASH" not "The Amazing Iris West." SIDE NOTE: The whole Linda Park thing got me heated. I liked her as a character and it sucked completely when she left.
I love that you feel the same way my best friend and I do. We've been watching the show since season 1, and by now it's only because we feel connected to it in a weird way. But to a large extent, watching The Flash is now too much like masochism.

I think one of the biggest problems is that whatever Barry goes through is very episodic, also iris was better as a side character and a a proper journalist. The biggest problem I see is that they're making the male characters dumb to praise the female ones. I mean they both can be smart and powerful at the same time. It's a common problem with many CW shows. They s**t on every male character in one way or another. It's more apparent in Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman.
I'm not sure something that wasn't good. There's the fact that two are pretty close to being siblings having been raised together for a young game, but ship has sailed a long time ago. But really these two have little chemistry. Patty had way more chemistry with Barry (as did Felicity, but she had her OTP) but she had to sacrificed on altar of the OTP.

I think the new problem is the fact that they keep introducing new characters with very weak storylines. Barry has no growth and hast to learn a lesson every episode. Iris is shown to be always right about her decisions. In contrast to Superman and Lois show, it has both Clark and Lois complementing each other.

You had played the clip where Iris tells Barry they are The Flash. It was cringed. Barry has never claimed to be a part of Iris’ news team which is odd since she wrote stories about The Flash. In Superman and Lois, Lois hasn’t ever claimed “they are Superman” because the show Lois as strong character as reporter and mother who helps Clark make decisions.
We have seen Clark stop Lois from making mistakes and Clark was shown to be right. We have never seen Barry cautioned Iris and he was right. You are right that Barry feels like.a supporting character to Iris. I had a discussion with someone how being a reporter gives you the skills to run a team. They could have small scenes where Iris starts to learn how to lead or even flashbacks where she starts to pick up the knowledge. Lois was already established as hardened reporter with the clout to back her up. If they had done something like that with Iris, it would be more believable. I think the comparisons are interesting between these two couples. Even comparing the children and the interactions with their parents is interesting.
Everyone on team flash makes the "right" decision except Barry ... A lot of the flash characters stopped being likable to me because of it like Joe, Iris and Cisco a bit too.
@@RicardoMercy Plus, i think there has been a shift from Barry seeking wisdom from Joe and Cisco to Iris. All the new characters seemed to know more about is going on than Barry who should have the experience from everything he has seen and been through. It seemed unlike Joe that he would turn in his badge like he did this season. He did a lot for the police force. Joe’s side quest was boring and did really nothing for the show. The goodbye episode for Cisco was nice but his girlfriend’s party seemed out of place as if they had been this team that we followed for the same amount time.

That's not all even the finale episode they said iris has a little bit of speed force inside of her. Iris didn’t regenerate the Speedforce with love. It was with the spark. If you remember in season 1 in a flash back while Barry was in the comma iris touched his hand and she literally got shocked. Then later on in Season 1 she touched The Flash and again got literally shocked. Which is how she found out Barry was the flash.That was what was used to restart the Speedforce.
People could be smart but terrible leaders. Also people that aren’t as smart could be great leaders. If you take Arrow for example Oliver in the beginning is not good with computers but telling Felicity to hack. He’s telling someone smarter than him what to do. Kind of Iris.

I would've killed Iris in season 3, but not for Savitar to create himself. But to prove a point, that no matter how many Villains he defeats, no matter how many people he saves, it will never be enough. This would cause Barry to almost go insane, season 4 would be him just obliterating everyone. Killing Villians instead of capturing them.
More of his friends would die, Cisco would be killed and Joe. This would make Barry realise that the only way to save the ones he cares about will be to isolate himself completely.
In season 5, he would quit his Job and kick everyone out of Star labs. With no one to ground him to reality, he would just be the flash. I'd have the Flash almost have PTSD, where he lives the death of Iris every night. And then we'd follow the new 52 flash and end it at Iris's grave.

The theme of “family” and the so called “power of love” just absolutely cringed me in this season, especially in the Forces storyline.

Literally three of them were just normal humans born to completely different parents who just happen to come in possession with the new forces that Barry and Iris created with “their love” 🙄. So now automatically they are considered their children?????
I really hate forces storyline, I really want forget about that 🤮🤮🤮🤮. The worst storyline ever. Froeces storyline make savitar and season 5 storyline look master piece.
I also hate how people defend the pep talks with "That's part of Barry's character. He tries to see the good in his enemies." No. Seeing the good in them would be trying to talk sense into villains who have remorse for their actions and get them to turn themselves in and if that doesn't work fight them. Not thinking that saying "You don't have to do this" will instantly redeem them then just speeding off and letting them go. Nor is it turning someone good by holding hands with them. Especially Eva, who trapped Iris in a mirror, sent a clone of her to Barry, a clone which basically raped him.

Just look how Barry treated his dead best friend Oliver. He was willing to make Oliver sacrifice mean nothing just becasue he wanted to keep his children.Another strong example of bad of a character Barry has gotten is when he decided not to show up for Frost trial or help her avoid facing Prison like he did with Caitlin back in season 3.He just left her to dry when she needed him. Also he has been very standoffish with Caitlin,Joe ,Chester,Cecile,along others. It's so ironic that the only two characters(Oliver and Caitlin) that stood by Barry when he created flashpoint,he has disrespect them the most compared to everyone else. Oh how the mightly have fallen.

Iris felt like she’s a heavyweight that stands in Flash’s character development and plot development of being the best CW superhero that could’ve equate to or surpasses the Arrow.

This has been a problem since season 4 during the episode flashtime they show us just how fast Barry can run and then later in the season he gets incapacitated by the Thinker. How do you take down someone that moves faster than light, How do Someone take you down if you see them move in slow motion when your going fast? This is why I personally think the first three seasons have the best villains while usually I dont like someone who faces someone else with there same powerset it works really well in season one two and three. Because Not only does Thawne, Zoom, and Savitar have his powers but there better at being a Speedster than he is and they in a way forced him to improve forced him to get better add to the fact that they were also Speedsters so they could see and comprehend and attack Barry which is something the thinker can't do if Barry wasn't so incompetent The Thinker would have been locked up a couple times over. I think Bloodwork worked pretty well he was mostly a psychological threat and could really get into the flash's head literally. Like for real Barry's monologue about all that being the flash has taken away from him was Goddamn powerful and I was completely on board with Flash going evil Season 6 part B was okay and I've yet to watch season 7 I'm going to watch it all when it comes out on netflix

This show has become the same level of quality has Supergirl or even worse. On the first half why da fuck is Barry treating the Speed Force has a human? and why does the Speed Force behave like a human?
It's so ridiculous seeing Barry having lunch with the Speed Force. Also why is him and Iris treating grown up strangers like family? Has I recall they only created the forces not the people which the force is attached to right?
Then on the second half of the season Barry just knows how to conjure lightning from seeing Godspeed do it...and was it just me that didn't understand why was godspeed with amnesia and how was he able to Turn himself into Multiple Godspeeds with different faces?
Instead of developing him when he is free of his memories and make him likable, they almost don't show him at all and without hesitation he accepts getting his evil memories back... They wasted so much potencial. He could have not wanted his memories back but then he ultimately has to to save Someone.
Another thing, what was up with the music choice for some fight scenes. It didn't feel like the flash at all just like the scenes between killerfrost and that other guy which I forgot the name of.
Lastly, fuck Allegra...no Cares about her or her sister ( Allegra's actress is not very good either). The characters seem totally different. It's not the Flash anymore...I'm sad to say this but I want it to end.
EDIT: Somethings I forgot to metion is like how giving iris speed is helpful in a fight? she's suppose to be a beginner with the Speed Force. The other thing is like the real Barry would never bring back the Reverse Flash. He shits on his daughter for working with Thon and then he does the same... why would anyone bring back one of the most smart, impredictable and sycopathic person that flash knows, and the person he hates the most, when he also knows at least 4 real hero speedsters who could help him (Wally, his two sons and Jay Gerrick) even though he's faster then all of them and could easily defeat Godspeed by himself...and if he can ask the Speed Force to bring a speedster back to life why not jessie quick? She's a hero not fucking Reverse flash and then let him run away? to just kill more people? wtf?
A thing that also bugs me is the fact not only iris but most of team flash knows it all except barry... Most of team flash characters stopped being likable to me because of this.
One more thing, there was barely space on this season for barry to shine and then they decide to do a separate story line with kramer that doesn't even connect with the main one... really?

I was never a westallen shipper, but I still liked Iris and Barry's characters as individuals until they started dating. In Season 3 I never thought for a second they would actually kill Iris, then at the end of 3x22 I thought "They actually did it, this is surprising and amazing" then they retcon it 10 seconds into the next episode and I started hating both Barry and Iris.
Kill off iris. Stop with the obsession with parenthood. Write off every character possible that isn't actually important. Get rid of all the extra speedsters. And then, after that, give Barry his job back and let him be smart. You can make better antagonist and give him some emotional arcs. And hopefully make a better show.
With regards to Lois being a grounding force for Superman/Clark, I'd say it's more of a 2-way street. Clark was born with his abilities, he didn't acquire them. While he had to learn how to control them better later in life, he's always used them, they were always a part of him. His parents are what grounded him initially.
Lois, on the other hand, would almost certainly get lost in her work if she didn't have Clark to reel her in once in a while. I think it's more that they balance each other out. This is solely based on them without kids, not as they're portrayed on Superman and Lois, which is excellent.

Well, at least INVINCIBLE is a way better show. Amber did seem meme-like sometimes, but that's okay, she's not as insufferable as Iris imo. I direly miss the portrayal of Iris in say, the DCAU Flashpoint. Even when it was just for a couple of minutes, the portrayal was far better than hours of CW hogwash.

I always hated that "We are the Flash" line. Plus, how was Iris able to lead Team Flash when she is probably the least qualified character in the series?
My alternate take:
1. Barry was never gone back in time to save his mother at the end of season 2, however the Savitar storyline continued.
2. S3 ends with Iris dying, so after all the pain that Barry has taken, he realized that he couldn't keep going forward with his life, so he decides to go back in time to save his mother.
3. Flashpoint starts in S4 and it last much longer till the end of the season instead of one single shitty episode, Cisco is replaced by Chester, Caitlin is replaced by Allegra, there's a new Harrison Wells and Max Mercury is The Flash.
4. Savitar is immune to timeline changes, he senses that something went wrong and that captures his attention, so in some way later he's going to be involved again into Flashpoint.
5. At some point of the story, Barry loses his speed and he starts losing more memories of the original timeline, later with the help of Chester and the team, Barry finds a way to regain his powers by recreating the same accident that made him become Flash (basically the Runway Dinosaur episode never happened in S2, so i thought it would be smarter to save it much later for Flashpoint).
6. In the last episode Barry accepts Iris's death and he finally defeats Savitar by also telling him "i'll never let the pain and darkness, determinate who i am, i'll never be like you."
7. After Savitar got defeated, Barry finds out that he secretely planted a powerful unstoppable nuclear bomb strong enough to destroy Central City, Max Mercury tells Barry that he can't do anything about it and he needs to run back in time to fix everything, the two shares an emotional farewell and Barry runs away, the bomb violently explodes erasing Max and everyone in the city, Barry weakened manages to go back in time to stop himself before he saves his mother in order to fix the original timeline.
8. Returned to the original timeline, Barry finds out his lightning changed from yellow to blue and he's worried that he's dying just like Zoom, Cisco is surprised and he funnily explains to Barry that the reason why his lightning changed is because his connection to the Speed-Force increased a lot, which makes him way more powerful and faster than ever before. Cisco then gives to Barry a new suit as a gift, straight from the New 52 comics with the golden boots.
9. After having reunited the team again, later Barry and Caitlin pays homage to his family's grave and Iris in the cemetery:
Barry: Joe offered to take me so many times, i always found an excuse to say no *takes the Runaway Dinosaur book* my mom and i read this when i was a little, do you know it?
Caitlin: oh that book? Yeah! My mother used to read me that everytime before i go to sleep, i once wanted my father too to read it for me but he never did it....
Barry: why?
Caitlin: because....my father was always busy with his work and never cared about me, sometimes he even started a fight with my mother and i had to stay in my bed on my room because i was scared....
Barry: you never told this to anyone ever before? Not even to Ronnie? I'm sorry Caitlin, you must had a rough childhood
Caitlin: nah don't worry, that was a long time ago, i stopped seeing my parents since i left the college. And hey....i'm really sorry too for what happened to Iris, she loved you with all his heart, i'm pretty sure she would be proud to see that you didn't still give up
Barry: thank you Caitlin, i'm pretty sure Ronnie would think the same about you too : )
Caitlin: so anyway....what are you going to do now?
Barry: you know, i learned a very important lesson recently, i'm seeing things differently now. I wasted so much time being angry and sad about what i lost, when i had so much....Cisco, Joe, H.R. and you.
The truth is Caitlin, i don't know what this is, what the future holds for me next, all i know is....Iris has been everything to me and she always has been. My memories about her, dad and my mom will always remind me that no matter what, i'll always be here to protect my city and being The Flash, along with my friends and you : )
*Both Barry & Caitlin smiles and hugs each other, the scene slightly teases a possible new romance for the next seasons.*
10. The episode ends with a beautiful montage of Barry racing at Central City with Wally West, the two suddenly hears from Cisco and Caitlin that there's a new dangerous metahuman in the city threatening people's lives, Wally West asks Barry if he comes with him and he says that he has to do something pretty quick, Wally goes while Barry strangely watches something, he's watching the same building where Iris used to work there in CC Jitters, at one moment Iris appears as a vision and she smiles at Barry, Barry then starts running to the place where Wally is headed to.
The screen cuts with Barry in slow motion creating an epic sonic boom and remembering the words.....
*Run, Barry, run.*

Everything you’ve said is facts bro. And the most annoying thing is their love isn’t even equal. To me, Barry loves Iris way more than Iris loves him. In season 3, Barry was willing risk heaven and hell to keep Iris alive, while Iris had no problem with their DAUGHTER working with the man who MURDERED HER GRANDMOTHER.
But then again, Barry has worked with Thawne now like three times now so this show is fucking dogshit now. I’m so mad too because The Flash was excellent it’s first two seasons. The same thing happened with Arrow.

I'm ngl, I stopped watching the flash after crisis on infinite earths. I also missed like half of season 5. The show just wasn't "the flash" anymore. It was the "Iris and Barry" show now. I think a show that did a main romance properly is superman and lois. You would think that the cw learned from the success of superman and lois and put it into the flash but nvm.

The problem with the Flash in the later seasons is that they changed the writers, and the new writers didn't want to use anything from the previous seasons.
Basically they went woke trying to make Iris always right and making her more of the main focus of the show.
Let me be clear i dont hate the idea of iris.. but how she comes off on the show and the terrible acting was enough to make me quit watching. It went from this barry is smart calculating things wich i enjoyed to the iris always being right and mary sue for no reason. I finally quit when they uttered the magic words.. you arent the flash barry, we are. Someone should have been fired for that.. from a cannon and into the sun.

As much as I read the tweets of the actor. The guy messed up yet he was honestly one of the best parts of the show. Plus they fucked up now that Cisco and wells has left. So I hope warmer plus the on this show when the flash mobile comes out.

At least in Dexter Season 7 the writers were smart enough to drop the stupid "Deb loves Dexter" plot they started in Season 6. The same can't be said for the Flash writers who despite Barry being adopted by Joe and growing up in the same house as Iris think them being married isn't the slightest bit awkward even though it is. People fancying their siblings blood or adopted is incest.
Really enjoyed the first few seasons and then hung on until they screwed Sawyer over. I haven't given it the time of day since.

I have always said this since the end of season 6, that Eric Wallace doesn't know what he's doing with the show and is ruining it. Also, Barry actually did create his own tidal wave in the "Out of Time" episode in Season 1 before the timeline resets.
I agree with everything you said up to the tidal wave by Barry. In that episode Mark Mardon created the tidal wave and the flash created that sorta wind wall to block the tidal wave from hitting the city. But none the less I agree Eric Wallace does not know what he is doing

It's not just the crazy fans of the Iris character but the loony fans of Candice Patton the actress as well. They're convinced that anyone who doesn't shower her with unending praise is an evil racist. They've also got this crazy idea that because Patton and Danielle Panabaker who plays Caitlin aren't friends off set that somehow makes Panabaker a racist who's trying to "upstage" Patton and have her kicked off the show. Candice Patton fans using her race to shield her from criticism, claiming criticisms unrelated to her race are only being made because of it and using it as a convenient excuse to insult anyone who knows she's just an actress not some perfect goddess seem like the real racists to me.

Ok so problem is Eric Wallace...get that guy out of our favourite show.
Note that season 6 part A had great plots...partly becuz Eric wasn't writing for the show and there was probably good writers at the start to help with the set up of crisis but then kinda dipped with post crisis events with a shitty villain. But still on top of things...with the side plots and iris actually being relevant rather than some leader or some shit.
And then season 7 happened and oh lord...
Atp Eric Wallace maybe had 1 good season out of 4 seasons he had contributed in. And that is not good.

Season 3 may had some missing plot points and rushed characters, and trying to save iris all the time, Savitar kept me interested for the rest of episodes and he is the god of speed unlike godspeed.

I dropped the show when the female version Mirror Master was released from her mirror prison. The show became boring, the characters became stale and Team Flash was full of these reject sidekicks (photography girl, cheap Cisco and UV light girl). Iris is treated like she's as smart as Cisco and a better Dr than Catilin. I watched for The Flash, not for Team Flash.

I stopped watching Flash after the Crisis. Although I will say one thing that has stayed consistently good in the show even at its worst, is Reverse Flash. I have little to no complaints about him, he is always given great dialogue, his acting has been great (both actors did an awesome job), and he is a fan of the flash like the comics so he references Flash events and Flash characters. The only problem I guess he has is “how the hell is he still around even after the timeline is fixed”, the comics have the same problem, but I digress.
I didn't want anything more than I wanted Snowbarry for literally my whole life. The showrunners just screwed up the show by forcing WestAllen to happen but it just caused Iris to be toxic and unsymphatetic at all. I like WestAllen too but only in comics, Snowbarry should have been the endgame in the show. Like, c'mon, you have a gorgeous young scientist with genius level IQ who actually cares about you and there is an undeniable tension between you two but showrunners are forcing you to be with a journalist girl who doesn't give a shit about what you think and didn't even open a book cover to read it. Damn it... I can't believe that they couldn't have a chance to be together at least for an episode (I prefer a season but whatever.) Their couldn'-happened-love-story made me write my own fan-fiction and it's so embarrassing... Just for the record one more time: I LOVE CAITLIN SO FUCK YOU IRIS.
Barry and iris seemed way more in love in the early seasons later it seemed more like they were friends who get along, lack of kisses, lack of intimacy, all plays a part.
I used to watch the Flash religiously, until after season 4. I think they should have did what Arrow did with Oliver/Felicity and NOT have Barry and Iris together. Hell, Linda Park was on the show and did have relations with Barry but nope; Iris was just too good. Funny how when in the first season, Iris was going to stay with Eddie regardless of the future that was set, but God forbid Barry looking for any type of relationship outside of Iris.
Trying to make Iris the "center" of attention works against her and her character development. I don't want to say this considering the whole politics thing but as soon as Supergirl came to the CW, "Girl Power" happened. I have no problem with this, but the show is called "THE FLASH" not "The Amazing Iris West."
SIDE NOTE: The whole Linda Park thing got me heated. I liked her as a character and it sucked completely when she left.

S4 onwards she just became unbearable, trying to be the leader of the team and in my opinion fsiling5pretty badly. Her writing is so annoying, I honestly just skip every time iris is on scree

The biggest problem I see is that they're making the male characters dumb to praise the female ones. I mean they both can be smart and powerful at the same time. It's a common problem with many CW shows. They s**t on every male character in one way or another. It's more apparent in Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman.
I'm not sure something that wasn't good.
There's the fact that two are pretty close to being siblings having been raised together for a young game, but ship has sailed a long time ago.
But really these two have little chemistry. Patty had way more chemistry with Barry (as did Felicity, but she had her OTP) but she had to sacrificed on altar of the OTP.
You should of mentioned that their basically step siblings in the show, which put people of the relationship from the get go.
