It looks really good, no doubt!
Couple of things I'd probably want to keep in mind before getting it:
-Are the tyre changes fairly quick? At least compared to other e-bikes, that back wheel has me wondering that you might have to take some more time or have some bigger tools with you.
-Has that frame been thoroughly tested for a hard life-time of abuse? I assume the warrantee covers it but after that period would suck if it bent or buckled due to the lack of crossbar and the other different structural design choices.
Great stuff again though 😃
Great questions, and thank you! :)
-There's no quick release, so it'll require taking out the front axle, and as for the rear, same as it would be for a chain-operated bike. Needs to come out.
-Not sure about durability tests, but hopefully due to its material properties it shouldn't break easily!
Hi,
Thx for the video !
I am wondering if the Honbike have a Boost Button like the VanMoof for the big hills :)
Thanks for your answer !
Thanks, glad you liked the video! No, there isn't a boost function, other than the modes mentioned in the video.
Do you know if they plan to add range extenders for this bike?
Good question, no idea, sorry!
When you said lock the bike, does it mean the rear wheel is locked up, and doesn't spin at all. Or is it just turning off the electric system?
That's a good question - it turns off the system. Didn't try moving it while locked, so can't say if it locks the rear wheel. Best checking with the manufacturer to be sure!
How do you unlock the motor
How’s the bike so far? Thinking of getting it …what’s the after care service like?
Don't own it so can't comment on after care, sorry!
Would've been nice to know how quickly the pedal assistance kicks in
Less than two seconds
@@TotallyEV Thanks 👍
@Cold_Logic no worries
it simply looks early 20th century yet sexily hi tech underneath! you should wear victorian clothes riding it people will mistake you for a time traveller!
🐱👍🏿
Haha maybe next time 😂
Big-wheeled Go Cycle…
Ha!
Also £1.6k for a bike with one gear is quite a decision lol
Yup, e-bikes generally speaking aren't cheap!
All this tech yet no attachments for panniers. A pretty massive usecase completely ignored. Whats the point?
That would have been a nice touch!
That frame Design is great. Pity it slacks off in the details a bit. Certainly too costly too, but a single sided righty fork , same diameter as the frame, would look great. One that goes all the way up like a double crown fork. Then go even further and mount the handlebar on the fork leg offcenter. The decision to include such an ugly cheap rear light is soooo odd. Smooth brakediscs like some van moofs would look better too. Perhaps would necessitate stronger brakes to make up for worse brake performance. Would probably be a really expensive bike and yes, nonsensical but that's what the motor is for.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
