Christian Bale is my favorite Batman actor for one big reason: when the Aurora theater shooting happened here in Colorado, he actually came out here with his wife to visit with the victims, and even led a prayer at the memorial that had been set up near the site where the shooting happened. A lot of people like to believe that this happened after someone posted a petition asking him to come, but the timing of his visit led my husband to believe that he had already booked a flight here as soon as he heard the news. I am so glad that he showed up, as it was a very upsetting time for everyone here in Colorado, and not just the Batman fans.
Batman Begins is definitely one of my favorite Batman movies. I still really like Tim Burton's, but Nolan's vision is more inline with what I enjoy about vigilante hero movies.

One of the best Batman movies even today . I went to see it 5 times in the theater. The cast and crew did a great job bringing batman back to the serious and dark tone loved by fans . It also set up a great trilogy for bat fans .
The storytelling in Batman Begins is elegant and brilliant. The flashbacks to Bruce's experiences as a child and as a young man are integrated flawlessly into the film. Moreover, while I would probably have chosen someone else to play Batman, I would have been so wrong. Christian Bale gives an extraordinary performance that proved superheroes could be dramatic and complex; that they don't have to be played with a wink to the audience. Everything about this film is exquisite and I would even say it's even better than The Dark Knight. A lot of people will reflexively rank The Dark Knight as the best of the trilogy, largely because Heath Ledger gave a haunting, method performance. But, well, most good actors can chew scenery. Would Ledger have won an academy award if he had not died after filming? Maybe, but I think his chances would have been much lower because academy voters would have assumed that Ledger had a long career ahead of him and that he would have other brilliant performances that the academy could reward him for. I also think Gotham is just too bright in The Dark Knight. The city just doesn't look as menacing and stylized as it was in Batman Begins. Finally, while the screenplay is fine, it's just not as smooth, exquisite and logical as that of the first film.
For me Batman Begins is a superior overall movie to The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger was incredible in TDK but Batman Begins has a great arc and plot and Bale crushes his performance.

The Tim Burton first two are my favorite of the batman movies as well, but I also really enjoy Chris Nolans trilogy. Bales heavy metal style batman voice is a bit cheeky but it works. Burtons were more comic book where as Nolans were more grounded in a real world. The others...I don't have anything nice to say.
Some Batman backstory...Years ago,the studio wanted Clint Eastwood to be an older Batman/Bruce Wayne to be in a live action Batman Beyond film.Joel Schumacher was going to do a Batman sequel with Val Kilmer and he wanted Jeff Goldblum to be the Scarecrow. There was suppose to be a Jack Nicholson cameo with him being the Joker when Bruce Wayne/Batman is sent to Arkum and that film was called Batman Triumph.Joel Schumacher at one point wanted Marlon Wayans to be Robin. The studio wanted Leonardo Decaprio to be Robin.Hell, the studio wanted Robin Williams to be the Riddler at one point.
I didn't like the Katie Holmes (don't get me wrong she's a pretty woman but her performance seemed a bit lackluster) I actually preferred Maggie Gyllenhaal's acting in the second movie. The rest of the cast was fantastic.
Crazy to think this movie has been out as long as it has. Incidentally, the highest grossing film of 2005 was Revenge of the Sith. Had to look it up after Minty mentioned this was the 5th highest grossing.😁
"The Dark Knight" was my favorite of the Nolan Batmans. "Begins" is close though and it has one of the best sequel-bait endings of all time. It still gives me goosebumps when Gordon shows him the Joker card and he says "I'll look into it"
I like Begins over TDK. To me, it's the same reason why I prefer Star Wars over Empire Strikes Back - the second movie was arguably stronger but the ending in the first was epic!
17:36 "There was actually a lot of hype when Batman Begins came out. Now I know I'm not the only one to mention this, but I people were actually hailing it as the best Batman movie ever. Now, I don't think that was the case. Maybe I"m bias but to me Batman '89 was the better of the two." Minty, you need help. You need to see someone who can help you through your issues and remember... just say no to drugs! The Batman voice was brilliant and practical. Batman wears the mask to protect his loved ones from repercussions. So if he used his regular voice it wouldn't take too long before people could identify who he is without the mask. By disguising his voice, he's also reducing the likelihood of having his secret identity found out. The only surprise is that nobody thought of sooner.
I'd just go and make a video if you feel differently than an established youtube creator . Let me get this straight... minty is jokingly on drugs or def on them because he doesnt agree w/ someone who doesnt make youtube videos and says that others must be on drugs . Thats a pretty serious accusation based off a disagreement in opinion but hey this is the youtube comment section . you do realize that Nolan didnt create and write that . Around the mid 90s batman just used a voice changer so he doesnt sound like he is passing a kidney stone through his throat . Genius !!!
I honestly think no one can be a true fan of batman without enjoying the campiness of the 60s and more light versions of batman to appreciate the dark gritty versions and Adam West will always be the first batman the nolan films are some of my favorites
One thing people never point out is how this Bat-suit’s chest emblem doesn’t match the film’s signature “Dark Knight” logo. If you look carefully, the chest emblem is completely different. The Dark Knight changed this with its new suit and a chest emblem that matches. Just an interesting fact.
To be fair they are all good keaton, bale, afleck, not seen the new one so cant say.......but we dont mention the arnie one or clooney one, love val kilmer though,to me he will always be mad mardigan......lol.
There’s a running joke about how every time a new actor’s announced to play Batman, there’s a public uproar. For the most part, this has been true. But, when Bale was announced for the role, in 2004, everyone collectively said “hell yeah.” The first installment of the Dark Knight Trilogy dropped in 2005, and he never once failed audience expectations. Not the latest or most popular Batman movie. But, to me, Batman Begins is the best one yet.
I thought this was the best Batman movie. I thought the action scenes were great. I felt it had the superior car chase scene. Nice build up of the character and great twist at the end.
"They told me there was nothing out there, nothing to fear. But the night my parents were murdered I caught a glimpse of something. I've looked for it ever since. I went around the world, searched in all the shadows. And there is something out there in the darkness, something terrifying, something that will not stop until it gets revenge... Me." -- Bruce Wayne/Batman
You showed a clip of Bale drinking water soon after you spoke of his muscle gains but we all know it wasn't water alone that put on that mass, there was plenty of juice too
I’m pretty confident there were 5 tumblers built. As the guy providing the blueprints to replicate this car in full scale, I’ve researched thousands of reference photos, and on the back of the Tumblers, they are numbered, and one is numbered #5. However I don’t let this take away from another great upload, Minty. Good job sir.
5? i didnt know that, i remember one was only the cab for close up shots and 2 full scale for the action scenes, and one that was made lightweight for the scenes where it was supposed to jump
I honestly like Begins more than The Dark Knight because it feels more like a Batman movie and it's actually about Bruce Wayne/Batman, I like Bale's performance in it, I love the Begins suit and atmosphere.
The whole irony of the production is that while Christopher Nolan had the crew watch Blade Runner for inspiration, Tim Burton banned his crew from watching the movie, as he wanted none of its design cues in the 1989 Batman film.
When you did your bale batman voice and said "ITS GOOOD" I laughed. That's actually 2 now, and it was just a few months ago you made me laugh for the first time. You're getting better!
The success of the dark, melancholy "Batman (89)," which led to the even darker "Batman Returns," that caused outrage by morality groups (and McDonalds) because the film was too dark, violent, (and blue slimy); an outrage that forced the franchise to become a true monstrosity and ultimately collapse. Put this reality together with the successful reboot of "Batman Begins" which returns Batman to the dark, melancholy, and appropriately violenced form that had contributed to the success of Batman on the big screen in the first place; all goes to show a fundamental truth: morality groups are more likely to cause incredible damage than be socially, economically, or even morally helpful; (just look at the U.S. 1920's era of "Prohibition").
That’s why Joel Schumacher took over as director for the remainder of that franchise, because of McDonald’s and their “discomfort” of the Penguin puking up green slime. They couldn’t sell happy meal toys like that
I’ve never heard Batman said so many times hahaha. Love your vids man. Always look forward to them. I would love to see you do too 10 things you didn’t know about Congo.
To me "Batman Begins" saved the reputation of the Batman franchise. I grew up with "Batman: The Animated Series" which was quite dark. Also "Batman Returns" was also rather dark. Therefore I was so much disappointed by "Batman Forever" and "Batman & Robin". "Batman Begins" really showed the rough and (to a degree) vicious side of him. So to me the ranking would be: 1. "The Dark Knight", 2. "Batman Begins", 3. "Batman Returns".
You’re gonna hate me for saying this, but I liked Batman Forever better than Batman Returns. Batman Returns was “too much.” It wasn’t even a Batman movie, it was a Tim Burton movie, it was literally a repeat of Edward Scissorhands with the Penguin. It wasn’t even about Batman, it was about the Penguin. Batman Forever was a nice refreshing change, and it had more screen time of Bruce Wayne unlike the Burton films. But 1989 was the best Batman movie
@@nsasupporter7557 - you've got a point there. Both Burton movies have the problem that they're not centred around Batman but his enemies. That's why I prefer "Batman Begins". It is about Batman and Batman alone mostly. Still Burton's style is at least very fascinating and dark.
I love the 89 version, but I really love this trilogy…Hardy WAS Bane in my eyes…and Ledger as the Joker? Nothing more needs to be said. Great villains in all three movies!
Back in 2002-2003 (I can't remember), I was watching American Psycho with my then-girlfriend, and I said to her, "You know, this Christian Bale guy would make an excellent Batman. He's got the rich businessman look for Bruce Wayne, and the completely psychotic nature and physique for the Batman." A few months later she showed me a newspaper clipping announcing a brand new Batman movie in 2005 starring....... Christian Bale!
"10 things...": The Dark Knight _Rises_ next week, either Tuesday 15th or Friday 18th? (TDK video had been presented in 11- 2019 💻 ) Hmm, both Jake and his sister Maggie G might have been in this film, even if they would not share any scenes. (Vis-a-vis Batman/1989) Many more people have compared this to Casino Royale, another one-of-a-kind 'origin story' film (CR/2006 is itself a reboot of the 007 film series after Die Another Day, though, unlike B& R, that film had not been a box office flop!).
A young Jack Gleeson (Joffrey Baratheon) has a small part as the kid who spots Batman in the Narrows before Batman goes into the apartment where Scarecrow lits Batman on fire, and he appears again when Rachel saves him after the fear toxin is released before Batman swoops in and saves them both.
This will probably go down in history as the best Batman/writing/acting trilogies of all time!! Scarecrow, Ras Al Ghul, Joker, Bane, and Catwoman were all acted and written so well!! 😜🤘🏻🦇
*Better* than The Batman. ✌ Those who say otherwise just have bad memories or are drinking the cool aid. TDK wouldn't have opened *SO BIG* without all the positive buzz that BB built 🦇 It influenced a whole decade of 'gritty reboots'
I love Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. Just absolute greatness. The casting was fantastic. The only casting bummer was that they couldn't keep the actress continuity of Rachel Dawes. I know people get up in arms about Bale's Batman voice, but it's a necessity. Bruce Wayne wouldn't just go around using his very recognizable voice. He would have to disguise it.
I think if he kept the voice he used while talking to Gordon when he has the stapler to his back would have been perfect but I get at times he needs to speak more intimidatingly
It’s simple , we kill the Batman ! Nolan Trilogy is by far the best in MY opinion , When they filmed this one and the dark Knight coincidentally I was in downtown passing through and saw both being filmed
Ya forgot the unique fighting style they added to Batman skills called Keysi which involves a lot of elbow strikes for both offense and defense techniques because Christopher Nolan wanted Batman to have a more realistic fighting style when he’s fighting multiple attackers which they used for the Jack Reacher movies with Tom Cruise It’s was invented by two guys who studied Boxing, Jiu-Jitsu, Kali, & Jeet Kune Do combining into one style to a street effective self defense style. It looks badass and effective, however it’s not as well recognized like MMA, Boxing, Karate, Taekwondo, Judo, or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
I wish Scarecrow had a bigger role in these stories. Cillian Murphy is a phenomenal actor and he played the role perfectly.

@@judosailor610 the boycottwas against the 2nd movie....
This was my favorite film in the Dark Knight Trilogy.
Casting was spot on. Imagine just 1 of those elements changed.
I didn't like the Katie Holmes (don't get me wrong she's a pretty woman but her performance seemed a bit lackluster) I actually preferred Maggie Gyllenhaal's acting in the second movie. The rest of the cast was fantastic.
It was never referred to as "The Bat Tumbler", it was just "The Tumbler".
Crazy to think this movie has been out as long as it has.
Incidentally, the highest grossing film of 2005 was Revenge of the Sith. Had to look it up after Minty mentioned this was the 5th highest grossing.😁
All movies have been out as long as they have. 😜
@@M2Mil7er Why yes, but some more than others! 😜
Same
The best one in the trilogy
We DO need an R rated batman!!! 🤞🏼🦇
This was a perfect movie to kick off the franchise 👏
This is such a perfect origin movie. I never really liked batman until this movie made him just so cool. It's the best batman movie, hard to beat.
17:36 "There was actually a lot of hype when Batman Begins came out. Now I know I'm not the only one to mention this, but I people were actually hailing it as the best Batman movie ever. Now, I don't think that was the case. Maybe I"m bias but to me Batman '89 was the better of the two."
Minty, you need help.
The only surprise is that nobody thought of sooner.
...i cant even watch Batman 89 anymore...uhhhh!
Genius !!!
It was neither brilliant nor practical; WAY too dramatic and over the top. You could easily disguise your voice without being that extreme
I honestly think no one can be a true fan of batman without enjoying the campiness of the 60s and more light versions of batman to appreciate the dark gritty versions and Adam West will always be the first batman the nolan films are some of my favorites
Actually the first actor to play Batman was Lewis Wilson in 1943. West was in reality the 3rd actor to have the part
The Best Batman movie - period! ☝️
Too bad they botched the other two up. It could have been a glorious trilogy otherwise!!
Minty your channel is absolutely one of my favourites.. keep up the great work broseph
Same with the 1989 logo
Minty Comedic Arts you should do The Dark Knight Rises and Batman vs Superman.
To be fair they are all good keaton, bale, afleck, not seen the new one so cant say.......but we dont mention the arnie one or clooney one, love val kilmer though,to me he will always be mad mardigan......lol.
The new one is genuinely brilliant
Allora Dennon! Prob totally spelled that wrong lol
I love the batman credit card and ice puns and Mister Freeze's suit.
Just in time for breakfast! Thanks, Minty.
Can't they kill me before breakfast?
Lol Bale was catching up on some sleep as he was deprived of rest in his previous role, The Machinist.
Thanks for the content sir! 🙏❤️✌️
You showed a clip of Bale drinking water soon after you spoke of his muscle gains but we all know it wasn't water alone that put on that mass, there was plenty of juice too
Juice? Oh you mean vitamins right?.......right?🤔🤣🤣
I’m pretty confident there were 5 tumblers built.
Take a shot every time minty says Bayman! 😂😂😂
4:22 I agree we need an R-Rated Batman.
I honestly like Begins more than The Dark Knight because it feels more like a Batman movie and it's actually about Bruce Wayne/Batman, I like Bale's performance in it, I love the Begins suit and atmosphere.
The Dark Knight covered a lot of plot and character for its running time. Begins flows better as a movie in my opinion.
Bonus fact. The guy who plays Zsasz is Tim Booth, lead singer of English Rock band 'James. '
I enjoy the Nolan films, especially the Dark Knight.
The whole irony of the production is that while Christopher Nolan had the crew watch Blade Runner for inspiration, Tim Burton banned his crew from watching the movie, as he wanted none of its design cues in the 1989 Batman film.
The Nolan Trilogy is the GOLD STANDARD! That being said, I highly enjoyed The Batman 2022 and honestly found Robert Pattinson to be an awesome Batman!
Nolan’s is 100% better.
BatPat is better than Dark Knight Rises, but lesser than Begins/TDK in my view.
Your posts are super cool!! The comic relief (which we all need for everything) the “Marvel” Batman toy haha
Best pure Batman film in the trilogy. As far as best individual performance is concerned however, Heath's Joker is untouchable in TDK... RIP
6:38 well he did work with Nolan in memento so it’s likely possible
Big fan. Felt like DC first and own x men movie. 1 and 2 are classics and 3 is just ok
When you did your bale batman voice and said "ITS GOOOD" I laughed. That's actually 2 now, and it was just a few months ago you made me laugh for the first time. You're getting better!
2005 is also the same year an overlooked Disney family film ‘Sky High’ came out. Have a look at that
I always expected that to be a stoner film until I saw it. It's really pretty good.
I liked Sky High until the twist. But a line said by one minor character was self-referential, and funny.
It's not who I am underneath but what I do that defines me. Memorable line!!!!!!! Love bale best one behind Keaton
10 Things You Didn't Know About Batman 1989 & Dark Knight Rises.
🦇
Heath ledger almost played Batman in Batman Begins? This baffles me considering his iconic role as the Joker in The Dark Knight.
Christian Nolans batman voice? Think u ment bale buddy.
I’d heard that at SDCC they played the fan made film Batman: Dead End
Which convinced WB that Batman was still a viable franchise if done right
The success of the dark, melancholy "Batman (89)," which led to the even darker "Batman Returns," that caused outrage by morality groups (and McDonalds) because the film was too dark, violent, (and blue slimy); an outrage that forced the franchise to become a true monstrosity and ultimately collapse.
Getting drunk and CRASHING into the BATMOBILE thinking it's an Alien Ship would be THE MOST AWESOME BAR STORY EVER.
I love the 89 version, but I really love this trilogy…Hardy WAS Bane in my eyes…and Ledger as the Joker? Nothing more needs to be said. Great villains in all three movies!
I would've loved to see Jack Nicholson do the Pencil "Magic Trick" instead of that 50,000 volt joy buzzer
(TDK video had been presented in 11- 2019 💻 )
Hmm, both Jake and his sister Maggie G might have been in this film, even if they would not share any scenes.
(Vis-a-vis Batman/1989) Many more people have compared this to Casino Royale, another one-of-a-kind 'origin story' film (CR/2006 is itself a reboot of the 007 film series after Die Another Day, though, unlike B& R, that film had not been a box office flop!).
The series 'Gotham' is worth checking out to see a young Bruce Wayne and the origins of Batman.
Great video!!!👍
A young Jack Gleeson (Joffrey Baratheon) has a small part as the kid who spots Batman in the Narrows before Batman goes into the apartment where Scarecrow lits Batman on fire, and he appears again when Rachel saves him after the fear toxin is released before Batman swoops in and saves them both.
This will probably go down in history as the best Batman/writing/acting trilogies of all time!! Scarecrow, Ras Al Ghul, Joker, Bane, and Catwoman were all acted and written so well!! 😜🤘🏻🦇
The Batman has started pretty strong and could dethrone that.
Double bonus: Hans Zimmer handled the score and it was great! Zimmer even gave a nod to Danny Elfman in some of the music from the Nolan trilogy.
*Better* than The Batman. ✌ Those who say otherwise just have bad memories or are drinking the cool aid. TDK wouldn't have opened *SO BIG* without all the positive buzz that BB built 🦇 It influenced a whole decade of 'gritty reboots'
Actually TDK would have been an OK movie had Heath not died
If you don't agree with me, and think as I do.. You're drinking the "cool aid".. Says every mind knumbing mooseknuckle on the planet.. Kool-aid btw..
It can’t be overstated how good this movie was.
Hold your breath everytime he says "Batman".
Then breath out everytime he says "Batman".
You'll be fine................
Liam's a bad guy 😱😭 thanks for the spoiler 🤣😂 only joking
Bale has been a great actor since I first saw him in Empire of the Sun.
Great dramatic actor.
Deep cut. What's great film, although one of Spielberg's lesser known dramas.
It’s simple , we kill the Batman ! Nolan Trilogy is by far the best in MY opinion , When they filmed this one and the dark Knight coincidentally I was in downtown passing through and saw both being filmed
Those were great summers. Chicago had just did Public Enemies by my house, and the Transformer movies as well.
@@girldaddividendinvestor definitely agree oh yes I remember that at the jail in crown point
Just saw this great vid - I hope Nolan & Bale team up and do more even Nolan with man of steel 2
Ya forgot the unique fighting style they added to Batman skills called Keysi which involves a lot of elbow strikes for both offense and defense techniques because Christopher Nolan wanted Batman to have a more realistic fighting style when he’s fighting multiple attackers which they used for the Jack Reacher movies with Tom Cruise
It’s was invented by two guys who studied Boxing, Jiu-Jitsu, Kali, & Jeet Kune Do combining into one style to a street effective self defense style. It looks badass and effective, however it’s not as well recognized like MMA, Boxing, Karate, Taekwondo, Judo, or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Great way to start off a Friday ..
