    Looks great!
    Is there a way to create folders or dividers in the set list? Eg: Set 1 folder / Set 2 folder etc. Would be great for long covers gigs where you'll go through 30+ songs

      I'm happy to hear you like the app! There's no function to split the setlist into multiple folders yet, but if you like, you can make a suggestion on feedback.ableset.app :)

    This looks promising. Is there a way to control Ableton from my iPad and have the lyrics show up on my iPad at the same time? I use my iPad on my mic stand.

    • @ableset

      Thank you for your interest in AbleSet! You could use a custom performance view to display your lyrics while also having access to playback controls. Here's how it would work: th-cam.com/video/u0Zd9RX5rKA/w-d-xo.html
      I hope this helps! Feel free to let me know if you have any further questions :)

    Really amazing!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.
    It would be amazing as a teleprompter from a tablet, to synchronize song lyrics and/or sheet music, just like the song title shows

      That's a great idea! I'll add it to my todo list :)

    This is great! Gonna help a lot with my Ableton Arrangements!! Question?? Once you save a setlist how do you import it or open it in Ableset?? Thanks!!

    • @leolabs_org
      @leolabs_org 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm happy you like it! Regarding the import, you can just drag the downloaded setlist back into the browser window to load it into AbleSet. Let me know if this helps :)

    Can someone tell me step by step how to load the midi controller? When I drag it into a track as directed ableton tells me this device is not supported or something like that, I can’t get it to show up and run within the ableton program like he shows on the video. Any help
    Would be appreciated!

    • @ableset
      @ableset  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Tim! Could you send me a screenshot of the issue to leo@ableset.app? Generally, the MIDI controller only works with Ableton Live 10 and 11 Suite because it makes use of Max for Live. This might be the reason you see the error message, but if you're using Ableton Live Suite, it could be something else. I hope that we can find a solution for this :)

    Does it require wifi to be active??

    • @leolabs_org
      @leolabs_org 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want to use AbleSet on your computer only, you don't need any kind of network connection. If you want to control your setlist using your phone or tablet, they have to be connected to the same network as your computer, but you don't need an internet connection.
      You can use a simple router if you want to use this setup on stage. I'd recommend that all devices are connected to it via ethernet since there might be interference from wireless mics and IEMs which can make the WiFi connection less reliable.
      I hope this helped, let me know if you have any further questions :)

      @@leolabs_org Does creating an adhoc netork thru macOS work the same and is it stable enough for a live show?

    • @leolabs_org
      @leolabs_org 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@drummafereva829 I haven’t used an ad-hoc setup for a show yet, but it should work the same. I’d recommend not using macOS’ WiFi adhoc as that caused some issues when I tested it, but if you’re connecting both devices using Ethernet or USB, you should be good :)

      @@leolabs_org Thank you for this. Was looking for some response to this before I ask about the same. Is there another way of running the app on my iPad without using the network option? I have had a lot of embarrassing fails due to network hitches in performances and decided to rely on hard wired cables. Can a direct cable connection between the iPad and my MacBook be used instead, to achieve this control? Also can the app work the same while using Session View? If yes or no, What are the limitations? Thank for the help.

    • @ableset
      @ableset  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joeb.masterkeyz you can use a USB cable to connect your iPad directly to your MacBook and set up a network that way. Here's some more information on how to do this: ableset.app/docs/network/
      If you'd like to use longer cables, I can recommend buying a Lightning/USB-C to Ethernet adapter and connecting your iPad to your MacBook using an Ethernet cable. Those can easily run for up to 100 meters compared to USB's ~5m if you use passive cables.
      I hope this helped! Let me know if you have any further questions :)

    I didn't understand this product at all. And I didn't understand its pricing too. Why 99 dollars? Just make it 5/month or sth as an option. But seriously what is this? I didn't get it.

    • @ableset
      @ableset  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It’s definitely a niche product, aimed primarily at playback engineers and artists that work with backing tracks, and it has evolved quite a bit since I’ve posted this video. I’m currently working on AbleSet 2 and will release a new introduction video when that’s out. Let me know if there’s anything in particular you have questions about, I’m always happy to help!
      Regarding the pricing, I had thought about going the subscription route but after a few surveys among musicians I found out that most prefer to buy a license once to own the software. I also don’t want to require my customers‘ computers to be regularly connected to the internet, so it would also be difficult to check the subscription status. So far, I’ve gotten mostly positive feedback for this decision.

      An absolutely vital tool for any band playing with a live playback in Ableton. Most times this will be run on an iPad that the drummer or some other engineer controls in order to manage the stopping, starting, and pausing of setlists. Allows us to have all songs in a master set on Ableton and rearrange our set on the fly for live performance
