Not sure the SSL brings enough to the table for it's massive price increase over all the other ssl comps on the market . but if budget is no concern its very nice .

If you wanted to use The Bus+ for just its 4k mode, it probably wouldn’t be my first choice given the price.
But it does have many tweak-able options and extra features, making it a powerhouse to work with all kinds of music. Just comes down to what you want out of a bus compressor

just with mid/side,and dual mono and stereo option option there's no way to comparate the 2....without mension the other features ...bus + win hands down.....probably you guys are missing something and don't understand what bus+ it is....warm audio is just a compressor that's it

I also have the warm bus comp and I hesitate to sell it to replace it with the bus+ that I would like to combine with the ssl fusion that I already have. Will it make a real difference for me to make the switch or not?

The Bus+ has a larger feature set, is more versatile, and can handle more genres.
Is it worth upgrading over the Warm? That depends on you and how much use you would get over the extra features. If you mix a lot of different genres, I would say yes. If not, and the Warm is doing it’s job for you, I would save that money for other things.

in fact, I'm a professional sound engineer, so when I have clients, they often have a lot of different musical genres... so yes, it can be interesting to get on the bus+ because in fact, I finalize all my mixes with fusion and comp bus so far… but on some genres the comp bus goes moderately… so if the + bus brings more possibilities on different genres of music then I'm very interested. Otherwise, when I'm doing my own kind of music, the comp bus works pretty well because before I was using wave's ssl comp plug-in. I just wanted to upgrade to a hardware version.

@@ironperezimorxrecords1208 the D-EQ alone is worth the ticket.

This bus+ has 5000 functions apparently, but too distracting for my taste. I prefer the simple bus comp, it does what it's supposed to. With a good mix I wouldn't have to worry about using 40 more knobs trying to make it sound "better". That warm audio sounds great. And you put a setting on it and you don't see it again.
And yes, if you have the money for that bus+ great, but I feel like I can live without it. (and the same for the ssl fusion rack) 🤷🏻‍♂

Is this warm bus comp. O.K. for a mastering comp. for edm music, or it's just "safe" to use it on a mix bus, all else is just a lottery? :))

Some good information but the presentation is a little too random and disorganized.

Thanks for the note Thomas. We tend to do everything live with no editing, so things can jump around a bit. 😅

Yeah, it's a bit frustrating for an hour of total length vs just a few minutes of A/B examples, and un-annotated. He didn't let the A/B play past halfway through - twice in a row - so wondering why the verse was recorded... _twice(?)_
It could save a lot of people a lot of time to do a 15-20 minute edit with a few paragraphs of text and/or graphics to replace the ramble about signal path and the test-tones.

I would've like to hear multiple genres of music also. I own the BURL and DANGEROUS CONVERT. Ordering the WARM,... it sounds better on so many comparison footage. Your example was the best. Very well done,...

I would buy Tegeler Creme instead of Bus+

Have Bus+ plus Fusion on the 2Buss and Tegeler EQP1 following. More tweakability on the VCA compressor, with some colour as needed, with that lovely heft that a stunning Pultec clone delivers. Not expensive overall.

What in the flaming hell lol. It's almost like the SSL is working with stems. The authority it has over the drums is so clear and defined, while still presenting a defined and open mix. Almost like magic lol. Warm wasn't there at all.

Yes you need all that stuff if you don't want buy other 4/5 different unit after warm audio and because it will take you away to open tons of plug in
