- Road underbridge situated between Wendover Dean viaduct and Small Dean viaduct (yet to be moved into position), a couple of kilometres south of Wendover in Buckinghamshire.
Small Dean viaduct has 5 piers is 345m in length, 6m height and only one of two places in the Chilterns where the line is above ground level.
HS2 is the UK's newest high speed railway linking London Euston to Birmingham (140km) and the north. High speed trains are due to cross through here in the early 2030's.
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel. It’s appreciated!

Good work, QM. Thanks for actually venturing outside while most of us are sitting on the sofa in front of a log fire. Well, I am.
Keep 'em coming ... 👍
👍 Yep I arrived early, it was cold, icy cold, overcast and not a coffee shop in sight. But as I approached the HS2 site, everything was ok. 👌
It's looking good.
I remember this stretch. There was a nice red brick house around 4.38, slap bang where those rusty girders are being stored. The Rocky Lane bridge abutments look excessively high. Now don't tell me, that's to provide clearance for articulated high sided vehicles passing underneath. I'm sure that will piss off lorry drivers - seeing a nice welcoming arch ahead and then being informed they must turn around before the lane narrows. And I am sure HS2 LTD will owe me a debt of thanks for informing them indirectly of this necessity to build a turning circle which they hadn't so much as thought about, for which the government will shell out another ten million; and so the price spirals ever upwards
Bridge height for trucks is 16' 6"" minimum _ anything less has to notified as a low bridge
Glad to see they have future-proofed this bridge for a long time! 👍
