Morinio was a genius but as football developed he let it develop around him and stayed stubborn and used his tactics that use to work. It is such a shame because he is a legendary manager

Now he has almost everything he wants in Tottenham. Probably next season will be his season if the team could stay mentally strong.

Arsenal is having the same problem for decades. He tried to use Pogba as a CAM but the position didn't fit him. He tried to use him as CM but that way he didn't fit the team as he kept neglecting his defensive work. Lo Celso will be far better than him i think. At least for Mou.

This shows difference between mourinho and other contempory managers.No one goes in a match better informed about the opposition than mourinho.
Dude Rijkaard out did him in this game, and was more informed though. Watch the first leg game of this faceoff. He placed Gudjohnsen (a striker) to play as a center mid. I think Mourinho sinned by having preconcived notions of his opposition that were not factually based. Just in this game thinking that Puyol was 'hot headed' and was going to get booked, like wtf. They guy only got 3 red cards in his whole career (until that game, he only had 2 red cards), if anything he was the example of a clean defender. Or thinking that Edmilson was going to give away balls by pressing him, even though he was very capable in 1 v 1 situtations. The game definitely did not go as planned for him. As a matter of fact, the only reason Chelsea got a goal was because Motta made a stupid mistake on a set piece and scored an own goal. It was nothing tactical, it was an accident.

But he did not know about Rijkaard. He was working for Robson and Van Gaal. Rijkaard was not even there yet when he left Barca, so why would he know the schemes? I mean the guy that brought back the 433 system to barca and played his own variation tweaks was Rijkaard, before him Robson played with a 4411.
