I've been installing for 25yrs, thought I would watch this for a laugh and pick all the faults... We're none, Nice, clean, tidy professional job... Fair play
you did well to lift that door combi in on your own 💪I would struggle to lift a composite door in now (16 years a fitter hammered my body lifting to many big units on my own) I still do the odd fit with my old fitting partner & we've started using block trim on the outsides on gappy windows & it looks great with a finer silicone line & small gap trim to frame 👍
I don't use a temlate to cut out the wall. I mark with the level and straight edge cut with grinder. But each to their own. I don't use masking tape to seal. I'm good at free straight lining. You also jogged out the cill, well done. good job lads👍
Maybe could of taken the mirror down for the cameras to be fair yes, the unit was bolted to the wall, you can see we are careful and no damage or mess was caused 😃
@GMWindowsDoorsLtd haha well done lads all people get is grief on how to do stuff once they have posted something. At least your off your arse earning a living mate.
Tidy job but being a bricklayer i would have removed the furniture inside the hall way and used my tungsten hand saw to cut a nice neat reveal and turned the half bricks around. But I get it you are on a tight price and can't run to doing that. pleaseed to see you tidying up regularly though 😊 I like the door.
Yes I could of move all for the cameras And turning the bricks round stands out more in a window fitters opinion Yeh maybe I could of tried to cut the inner side straight, but it’s getting plastered over anyway :)
If sent me a WhatsApp photo of your current door I could let you know what I would charge 01204 866 508 It’s WhatsApp business so would work with it being a landline number Many thanks
If you have taped the sides up why would you not tape the head aswell and if you are leaving the old frame in to minimize dust why would you cut the inside brick work with a grinder it was only thurmalites could have used a recip or a hand saw
What a Ruth way of doing the job. Especially on the front entrance that everyone will see. That’s not how you do it. You could of got a brick layer to cut and tooth out the bricks and lay them back properly.
Yes we could of done your correct, but the miss match mortar stands out more than the cut edge of brick. I showed the customer before hand which they would prefer They said the cut bricks looks much less noticeable If the customer said they want us to turn the bricks around, we would of done no problem
Cutting the bricks looks better like you say GM. Done loads like the way you’ve done yours and no one can notice a cut brick unless you’ve pointed it out to someone. Great job done 👍🏼

Yes sometime I agree for doors block trim, prefer windows tight with silicone seal
Great work thanks for explaining and your time.
Thank you glad you found this helpful and appreciate your comment
Looks good , alot of work to get rid of a small bit of wall
But worth it :)
Looks great lads , you wrk very efficient 👍
Appreciate you to notice 😃🤝

So you just do the cut free hand?
Thank you
The bottom right should be toothed out and bricks should be relayed .not leaving a cut edge like you have
See comments above, miss match mortar stands out more than 10mm of brick edge showing
The silicone must be messy if the is only 10mm if brick left lol
@@PaulsCarpentry-dq8tjvery messy of course….
Nicee 👍
A dust sheet an taking that mirror down would be much appreciated in my house !!!!!!😮

@@bobnudd6879 nice one 🤝 Yes all good got to expect opinions when posting your work online it goes with the territory

Thought you might have either moved or covered the cupboard in porch?
Nice. I need this exact job done. How much would this cost start to finish? Thanks.

Cracking video
Thank you 🤝
Is that unit and mirror welded to the wall ? Would have defiantly moved them
Yes was fixed to the wall
A very nice job, but all that work and expense just to double the size of the glass?
Yeh and it’s also more secure as such, as the current half window and bricks below was rattle when the door was operating
If you have taped the sides up why would you not tape the head aswell and if you are leaving the old frame in to minimize dust why would you cut the inside brick work with a grinder it was only thurmalites could have used a recip or a hand saw
which brand of glass cleaner did you use?
Soudal glass & mirror cleaner is in an aerosol can much better than squirty bottles
Do you just fill the newly exposed threshold cavity with concrete?
not sure what you mean exactly my friend? we filled the void at the bottom with concrete yes? not the door threshold
Am I the only person who thought the beginning of the video was the new door 😂
👀
@@GMWindowsDoorsLtd it didn’t look too bad from a distance, the new one is much smarter 👍🏻
Lump hammer and bolster would help , nice work though
I prefer a brick hammer, just my preference
How much?
WhatsApp
preferred the before.
Lol

@@Vwfan nice one mate yes my thoughts exactly
I think its a great job whatever you do with the brick you could find an issue , let's knock it down and start again 🙄😂
👍👍👏👏🇨🇿
Don’t you make good your cut outs
