Lapp's armor is based on sets of armor specifically designed for jousting, the Frogsmouth helm making for awful mobility and vision, but that's cuz you only ever have to look forward in jousting, and the thick metal being very protective. And the extra large piece of armor covering his left side is there as a sort of designated place to strike with a lance. Because jousting was a non-lethal sport that used wooden lances that were designed to be breakable if put under enough stress. The combatants wouldn't try to kill or even injure each other, just knock off horseback. So yeah, that's why his armor makes sense. Doesn't make sense for active combat though. While protective, it's too specialized and makes for *awful* vision.

Y'know... what if to prevent ganking, the invader could use a seed of the tree of giants and it would cause friendly fire to become enabled, so if a bunch-o white phantoms and Sunlight phantoms go and try to power gank they end up hitting and stunning each other. Then again, could lead to moe trolling... which, adds more fun to the experience.
It's fair now because it has hyper armor on two-handed moves, which I have a great time with in PvP for jokes but if you're going MLG, it's very hard to maneuver in close quarters combat since its tracking isn't the best, and even manual aming is difficult due to the narrow hitbox. But when hits land home, especially on roll-catching due to the length of the thing, it's really satisfying. Also, if you do the various charging attacks (running, charged R2) two-handed, the hyper armour keeps you from getting stunned out of it! However, landing all of the running ticks plus the final jab is very hard on small targets, which you tend to miss completely without proper distancing.
Thank you for the info. My main concern is that the R2s have the same move as the WA, instead of a delayed and more powerful thrust like in Dark Souls 2. However, if the weapon is long enough I should be able to use the R1s to counter while R2s are just for running people down, and starting or finishing combos.
