I know it's been few and far between, but we managed another siren test. Work schedules have taken Tuesdays off the menu when it comes to this and for the summer some changes were made to allow a few attempts.
That led us to a rainy tuesday July 2 2024 and a siren we haven't recorded yet. They activated 2 min earlier than expected hence the jittering at the beginning.

Nice video! Just so you know, Genoa tests every Tuesday. So does Sycamore. They are some of the only towns left that test outside of the first Tuesday in northern Illinois.

@Montecat33 interesting, didn't realize they changed that. I remember the last time we had a video from Genoa we had to call and ask them to activate it lol. Now that was a long time ago -Erik

@@TransitWeather I remember reading that! Yea sometimes Genoa forgets. Sycamore is automated. Their system sometimes tests early though, I have a video or two of mine where they surprised me by going off early lol

I’ve been collecting a map recently of all abnormal testing sirens in terms of timing. Someday I plan to ride my moto across these towns in IL and see multiple tests in one day. Hopefully soon! 😊

@@chrome7fan Very nice, send me a link to it if you don't mind? There are numerous places in central and southern IL that don't do first Tuesday if you didn't know

@@Montecat33 indeed there are a lot of abnormal testing times in the south IL area! At the moment my map is very small, only about 15 locations, but eventually I’ll put out a google maps link on the siren board when I feel it’s completed enough.
