The way hornet reacted to seeing the shade skip was just legendary. The sudden “huh?” And the eyes just bulging is why I came back to watch this a 2nd time.
Between the different techniques Ghost used, the detail of THK's nail being on the rack with Hornet's and Ghost's, plus the proposed LEGO Ideas Hollow Knight set, perfect animatic.
I love this. I love this so much. I love the fact that they could have asked Hollow for help, but instead they literally off themselves with a Lego to access a cookie jar. This is art.
Is a move that's both impressive AND concerning! Like imagine seeing the little bug die and turn into a ghost, something that's unusual already, and then it somehow appears out of thin air on a bench, pogos it's own ghost, and walks off like nothing happened.
Man, this was HILLARIOUS! I love the way you signified that all the three siblings live there with the nails on the wall. I love all the various skips, and the lego joke. And I love that Ghost didn't just ask Hollow to get the cookies. They wanted THE ACCOMPLISHMENT. Path of Pain can do that to a person. Overall, this is wonderful and filled with sibling energy

I love how the Knight steps on a single lego and instantly dies. That is so funny. Especially when Hollow was *right there* and could have *been asked to get the cookies for them*
So I just realized this, but all the sound effects are ones found in the actual game. Like, every sound was just something they could’ve taken from the sound files, even the jumping and cloth rustling sounds. It really adds to the believability that we’re inside their world! Nice little touch, you could have just found some plain old run-of-the-mill sfx, but you chose those specifically and made them work for the story!
Now that I think about it, that would look strange and almost terrifying for someone like Hornet. You're literally bouncing on top of your living, moving, actual corpse and using it to reach a higher place.
You know I had a similar concept but I drew it out and it was Hornet, The Knight, and H.K. trying to get the cookie jar. There were two endings, one is when they failed while the other was they all got a cookie.
I've only really succeeded at 1 particular skip in HK, and it was the Shade Skip at the end. I was very pleased to see the one thing I could manage being the punchline, hehe.
Summer was apparently full of great Hollow Knight animations, but ~September 20 is when TH-cam actually started reccomendeding them (seriously, Home went from none to like 7 this week!) I'm surprised some people here don't know about the game, too, but suppose everyone has to find out about it at some point. Guess that's now for them!

After the victory over radiance, there was nothing left in Hallownest except a Hornet, a Hollow Knight and another Hollow Knight. The first remained normal, the second, having lost the goal, degraded to the level of a child, and the third remained disabled.
