- Installing a Android Double Din Car Stereo with GPS, Bluetooth, and WIFI. I really liked how this system updated the look and function of my car's audio system at a budget friendly price. Even though the Android Car Stereo was easy to install, fitting it in the dash kit proved to be a challenge. You can go straight to the video of the install below or just continue reading.

So Why Go The A Android Stereo
You won't find a radio like this in your dad's old truck. It's jam-packed with features designed to bring your music to the current generation. In addition to all the functions of a regular car stereo, you'll also have all the features of your smart phone. From videos, navigation, to even monitoring your car's ECU, this will allow you to do a lot.
Wiring An Android Car Stereo
Wiring an Andriod stereo is pretty easy if you buy the car specific wiring harness. You will notice that the wire colors for the wiring kit will match your Android Car Stereo wiring. It is simply a matter of stripping them off and matching them up. I usually use heat shrink butt connectors and a heat gun when doing this kind of wiring.

Car Dash Kit Was A Little To Snug
Getting the 10.1 Android to fit in the dash kit was a little difficult, but with a razor we managed to make it work. If you have a Double Din Stereo, you're going to need a dash kit; otherwise, your installation won't look very professional. The dash kit we got would fit both a double din and a single din radio in a color that matched our dash. Even with shaving it to fit our radio, it looked great.

Getting the radio to fit in the dash mount was the hardest part.
Important to disconnect battery before unplugging the climate controls I've heard. Even wait 30 minutes for all the power to drain from the system before unplugging the climate controls. Reason is that if you don't, you'll trigger the air bag light and it must be reset with special Volvo tools (I've heard some fancy tools not from Volvo can also reset the airbag light)

Does your radio work well and the steering wheel controls? I've heard that a special $60 adapter box is needed for the steering wheel to control aftermarket radio. Plus, I've heard that the antenna amplifier in the car uses 10v power (I assume the power comes from the stock radio) but does this aftermarket radio send it 12v and affect reception?
This car doesn't have a power antenna and have not missed with the steering wheel controls.
@@ChrisDoesWhat So the steering wheel controls work? That's good to hear! Maybe this radio supports the Volvo's steering wheel controls.
@@ChrisDoesWhat My car doesn't have power antenna either, but there is an amplifier box in the back of the car somewhere that increases the reception of the FM antennas to my knowledge.
@@zzoinks I never installed the steering wheel controls, this car was supposed to be more temporary. Now due to gas prices, my son would rather drive the volvo than the jeep that has a killer stereo installed.

You have to get the wiring harness for your car.

The cup holders are behind the shifter, so yes.
can you post the part number and model of the radio you installed. I ordered mine from the link you posted and it is not the same radio. I am glad I didnt take everything apart first. the one I got from your link is much bigger than the one you installed. I need help please
How much bigger? In the video I did show that I had to trim the dash mount.
@@ChrisDoesWhat it is literally 10 inches wide and will not fit in the cavity of the dash kit. its so big that the radio would over lap the ac controls.

We have radar on our sailboat, this has no radar.

Okay if you have a multimeter or a test light check your ground and your power to make sure they're hot.

As far as our video retention you asked in one of our recipe videos. It varies based on video type and length. Recipe videos have about 3 to 4 mins, we get a lot more views for recipes on our blog. DIY videos are more around 6 to 10 mins, but they are much longer, and have less views on our blog. Plus my wife is a better writer than I am.
