I work at the factory where this car was made in Charleston, South Carolina ! I have several jobs that I do from day to day, Install the tires, secure the brake lines, put on rocker panel brackets, connect the control arm to the knuckle, install coolant reservoir, install windshield wiper fluid reservoir. That being said for those that have the car and enjoy it, nothing makes me prouder than seeing so!

The new s60 R-design is a gorgeous car, especially in this color. Love my 2012 s60, just wish they'd have continued on with the awesome 3.0 liter straight six turbo!
That's like the only thing holding me back from buying one of these. For the same money I can get the B58 in a 5 series.
The interior of newer Volvos is absolutely effing stellar. Very high quality, excellent design and perfect layout. There's no other car maker that can match it, in my opinion. I just love sitting in there. What's not great though is the abysmally slow gearbox in manual mode, it's an absolute joke for anyone who prefers to shift manually, and the engine noise inside the cabin is nothing but a dreary drone. It sounds better from the outside.
I live in this area. Crazy how I knew exactly where you were just by noticing the roads and landmarks. Fox Hills Golf Course confirmed I was right about you driving where you were lol love the car!

A very nice new Volvo this S60 is, but I miss the I5's. A 4 cyl, no matter now much hp it's putting down, cannot compare in pure sound.
Yeah, this is one of the reasons to be in doubt about upgrading my previous-generation l5-driven s60.

Gotta love all these kids who think you need absurd amounts of horsepower. Just so you can go the speed limit like everyone else? Just so you can accelerate a little bit faster? In the real world you're using a tiny fraction of the power in cars with high horsepower. How is that more fun? I like to be able to use more of the cars potential. Putting your foot down and having to take it off a half second later because you're going dangerously fast for public roads and extremely illegal speeds is fun in what way? If you're talking about a track car that's one thing.
If you want to risk having your license taken from you, fine. But you horsepower junkies are delusional in thinking that road cars need tons of power. I don't see how investing tens of thousands into something that you only have fun when doing felony speeds in makes any sense.
Owned several volvos. New engine concerns me. This would be perfect with a twin turbo 6 around 400 hp.
These engines have been around for quite a few years now. Haven't heard about any issues.

@@weirdshibainu I think the new gen 4 cyl. engines are in the field much longer. Some of them were already installed on prev gen cars. And so far no problems with them. Thanks to the fact they are real Volvo engines and not crap from Ford like the 2.0 or 1.8 on the older Volvos.

Got this car but not the R-Design which had some things I would never use, like paddle shifters or the back seat heater elements and really, really love it. Needless to say for the time I spend in the car the Bowers stereo system was a no-go. It's also very easy to upgrade the GPS. Seats, while not leather are really confortable. All in all a great car.
Did you lease? I'm considering leasing one. After 1 year what are your thoughts?
@@berhoom2024 Idid lease the car because you never know with new designs how things will work out and didn't want to get stuck with a lemon. After a year I have to say I couldn't be more happy with this car; no problems and really good quality build. The GPS is very good but since I use Apple Car Play I use Sygic GPS because I like the color screen. The Volvo GPO show a color route, blue, when you enter a destination. The upgrades are free. I've decided to purchase after the lease it up so I have the Polstar Engineered Upgrade installed for a cost of$1200.00. It's just a software upgrade. It really and I mean really makes a difference in acceleration, handling and cornering along with an increase in horsepower and quicker gear shifting. Since the car has dual turbo to my mind this should have been standard without the need for an add-on but I guess that is marketing. If you decide to lease I think you will be happy with it.

Concerning that the leather already has marks when sitting down.
Yeah, it’s a Volvo issue, they use very fine leather that is very soft and supple but doesn’t wear all that well. The seats on my family’s S90 are starting to look worn and the car is barely a year old :( it’s not much different than the seats on the ones we’ve owned before.
Although it is decently quick, just seems like there's much more engine noise than acceleration.
How can you feel that in a a video?! In reality the acceleration experience is simply felt by the G force and not just visually and it really makes a difference.
@@myslecinaczej8674 there's also a speedometer that shows how quickly it's going. That's how.
It does 0-60 in about 5.1 seconds, very quick for a 2.0L 4-cyl. Clever twin turbos ensure 318 bhp.

I love Volvos, but as a modern car, this transmission takes out 50% of driving feel. Its so sluggish and lazy. Like wtf Volvo? Really?!
Sebb There is a reason why BMW replaced the dual clutch for some of the M cars, it shifts faster, smoother etc
The automatic transmission doesnt live up to the excellent engine.

I think the sound is very amplified. If it wasnt for the lcd instrument panel been on I wouldn't know my engine was running....too quiet idling lol!
Sound is definitely not like this in person. Neither of the 2 s60 T6's in my family sound this loud or rattly in person
