      Lol @ the equestrian reference! That's really interesting! I also like the "motion is lotion" phrase I've try to remind myself that getting up and moving is to lube my joints. As a person with scoliosis it's easy to avoid moving around... I love walking and I have to remind myself the locomotion is good for so many things.

    Why do we need the back support nob?

      Great question! The back support nob on the Ariel seems at first to be just a visual flourish, because it provides no actual back support. But what it does provide is a visual landmark about where the back of the seat is, a feature that helps people land on the seat with their sitting bones positioned directly over the rocker when they sit down. It's crucial that one sit directly above the rocker to have a balanced posture, and the "nob" helps people find this spot. The nob also provides a "back stop" that keeps those new to the Ariel from sitting too far back and perhaps sliding off the back of the seat.
      So, while the "nob" isn't providing a post to prop up one's spine, it is providing subtle input to help folks find the correct spot to sit on our chair.
