    Hypertapping has such a huge advantage over das in this format

    • @shapowlow
      @shapowlow 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I disagree. It's true that they can fly pieces faster so they can put pieces even with delayed decision but fast decision making as DAS player can cut it. Look at Alex and Svavar. I wonder how other top players will do on this.
      EDIT: it just happened that the two of the best players in the world that did well here are hypertappers. Koryan and Joseph are phenomenal players. Friday is also a hypertapper but look at the result. Not taking anything away from her though. Her hypertapping is great as well.

    • @sitasin6545
      @sitasin6545 6 ปีที่แล้ว +47

      @@shapowlow I think hypertapping gives a slight advantage at least, because it's more important for DAS players to move the pieces before they're even on the screen and knowing the next piece is an important for that

    • @8bit_pineapple
      @8bit_pineapple 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@shapowlow But hypertapping won't slow someones decision making when they can't see the next piece.
      It's like if we had a reaction speed contest but your controller has 10ms input lag. My reaction speed is ~200ms, so sure, you could beat me by having 190ms reaction speed... but your controller is clearly putting you at a huge disadvantage and you'd be better off without the delay.

    • @shapowlow
      @shapowlow 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@8bit_pineapple i didn't get that. Reaction time and decision making are 2 different things and you seem to have stated in that comment that all players can make perfect decision all the time and reaction time is the only difference maker.
      I like that you view the top players as gods but they're not. Decision making is a huge part of tetris. Hypertapping does not make you a good decision maker. The only advantage hypertappers have is they have bigger window to decide since they can move pieces faster than DAS allows. If a DAS player can decide faster than them, their advantage is basically evened out.
      EDIT: I'm not taking away anything from hypertappers. They are AMAZING. That's why there's so few of them out there. I just said what I said because you seem to say hypertappers are waaaay advantaged over DAS players. They're not. They have advantage on piece movement and time window on decision making but decision making skills itself is key to playing the game successfully. Hence Jonas being a 7 time champ and 2 time 2nd placer

  • @stanleydodds9
    @stanleydodds9 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    you can clearly see, koryan looks at the piece he gets, works out where it should go, and hypertaps it there to the best of his ability (in many ways this is similar to level 29 play in terms of time to get a piece where it needs to go). On the other hand, DAS players have to charge DAS in the direction that they need a piece most, then try to fit what they get into the stack. This really distinguishes hypertapping from DAS.
