I live in abq and I was surprised you didn't mention the movie Wild Hogs was filmed in Madrid. In fact, last time we were there they had converted the Cafe in the movie to a art and gift shop.

I find these videos pretty entrancing for some reason. I don't have any plans to move to abq, moving to santa fe soon for a seasonal gig but these vids just scratch an itch in my brain for some reason.
The East mountains are beautiful. I really wish I could move there. Just bought a home in Westgate where I grew up. The neighborhood is a lot nicer now than what it used to be though I can say that.
These homes are going to need a lot of work. Regardless of work that was done prior to buying. Best bet is to buy as is and hire your own contractors to do the work so you can make sure it is done to your standard... or you will hate it after about a year. Oh and you have to have a "secret handshake" to live in Albuquerque.
We thank you for the perspective and you're correct that a lot of the homes in the mountains will need big time updates! Mission point if you need help with a secret handshake all you gotta do is give us The Secret password!

If I were id look into buying in enchanted hills. It's at the end of rio Rancho. Really nice houses really no crime n it's like 35 mins from Ur work.
I relocated from nyc and I moved to Paa Ko it’s great I would have done San Pedro though because the lots are larger and you can have horses
