My favorite part of town. If you don’t mind a small commute, what a bang for your buck! Not only do you pay a bit less for your house versus the heights but the property taxes are substantially less over here. Thanks for giving a fitting West Side perspective Skip!

Skip, Nice channel and great video. You tell it as it is and your perspective from growing up in NM and Albuquerque is great. My husband and I have been going to NM every year for vacation for the past 20 years with the exception of this past year. We love it so much that we got married at Hotel Andaluz of 5/15/15. We look forward to our next visit and perhaps to snowbird there in the future. Thanks, Geoff from Maine.

I wonder if you could post a video about Placitas? Or, perhaps you already have. Although we live in Phoenix, we have family in ABQ, and my wife and I are contemplating a move to the area in a few years. Or, perhaps there are other areas in the N Valley or RR where you get that Placitas feel, i.e., acre lots, great views, natural vegetation. Anyway, just thought I'd mention it. We really want that feeling of being away from other people, but we like the convenience of the city. The East Mountain area is nice, but we have our eye on the places mentioned above. Thanks! I enjoy your videos.

Package delivery theft and mail theft is up in the NW area. Catalytic converter theft is rampant. Get a iron security gate for your front door. Lock your door immediately behind you. Don't let anyone into your house. Be very careful at the dog parks and city parks. Check the crime maps in the areas you frequent. Network with your neighbors.

I’ve lived in every quadrant of Albuquerque over the last eight years and the desert New Mexico charm on the west side trumps the more generic urban feel on the east side. Living on the east side is definitely more convenient though, as it has more of the established businesses and a well-organized street layout.
