I requested this epically silly watch for my birthday from my family ( because I am to busy buying up all this Swiss brands in Japan ). Simply love this mad thing.
Hello Marc, I've got one for a wile. Fresh out of the box it's bulky, wears heavy. After a few hours I adapt. What stays is the joy I feel every time I glance at it. The Piccard is just soooo different. Best Regards, Harald
I've had the green one about 4 months now absolutely love it. I get more people asking me about it and trying it on when out and about watch shopping then any other watch I own. I was surprised how good the quality was for the price. I have a 7.5" wrist and have no problem wearing it all day.
Hello Marc! Only got about 30 seconds into your video before I had to stop and make a couple comments... First, that San Martin on your wrist looks very nice; the faded orange dial is evocative of the Seiko SNE109 (sister to the SNE107) which has been out of production for maybe 7, 8 years? Secondly, so cool that you're getting your PPL. That's a big commitment, but as a customer knowing that you are all about details says that you'll be a great pilot. I'm a big consumer of the top YT channels like Blancolirio, Pilot Debrief, VAS Aviation, and a couple others. Although I am not a pilot, these guys I'm sure are so helpful to both learning pilots and those with thousands of flight hours logged. I'm finally beginning to understand what density altitude is, why flying in icing conditions is pure folly, how to handle an engine-out-on-takeoff situation, how to avoid a stall/spin, etc. It's all moot for me, of course, because I'll never be a pilot, but I really admire the discipline and professionalism of the best pilots. Decades ago as a young lad, I would drive to Philly International in the small hours and go up to the observation level and just hang out leaning on the fence and taking in the smells (I call it aroma) and the beautiful sounds of 3 or 4 jet engines spooling up and taking off. This was the early 70's, so I don't know if my favorites, the 707 and the stretched DC-8 were still in wide use. Of course, 9/11 put an end to all that, unfortunately. Anyway, I hope you have a top notch CFI. Their competency can be a mixed bag, apparently. Get a good one!! Ok, I'm off to finish your video now.
I bought Cerulean Blue model a couple months ago. Got a deal I couldn’t pass up. Definitely attracts attention! I’m a big guy with 8 3/4” wrists and love it!
I love mine, gets tons of questions and many compliments on it. Yes it’s HUGE, back on my small wrist actually wears pretty comfortably. Some people put there’s on silicone dive straps or even NATO Bands to reduce weight
I love this! I can see my favorite Star Fleet Captain wearing this in the meteorite dial! They’re not monstrous! That crystal is amazing. Unfortunately I ain’t buying anything right now. Preparing for a possible strike at my union. 🤞
I own 12 Spinnakers ( I just love the brand and their take on divers) including a piccard. Trust me when I wear it, people stare at it like " WDH is That? Specially men thwy giv ethe second look and stare at it . Its an attention grabber. I didnt buy that reason though. I bought it for the crystal, how you literally have to look at it straight down to see the time , let alone the date. It is a fun watch to wear. Thanks Mark for another great video.
I'm going to take credit for this one. End of August I emailed Marc about a skinny Christopher Ward that claimed it was good to 600m. My Picard is good to 550. He said it wasn't bogus, and that the Picard is less functional and more a retro style statement (so you don't actually need the monster crystal or all of that steel to get the 550 rating [which by the way is deeper than nuclear subs go]). I saw pictures of the watch when it came out and it didn't register at all. But when I tried it on at the wind-up watch fair, it felt and looked amazing! It feels like the first piece of a set of armor, and you want more things to clip on your body with all of that heavy stainless. I've got 14 watches, but the Picard is the daily wear over the last two years. Absolutely love it! *And the green is gorgeous, particularly in the sunlight! ** I'm looking for a sliding clasp for it, but the bracelet doesn't taper down to 18, it's 20 mm, so I may be out of luck
I have looked at this one, a few times. It’s interesting to me, can’t really point why.. I bought a Spinnaker from you, the Hass automatic whale sanctuary limited edition- which is quite thick on its own, 15 mm(not close to this mars colony dome size..), and it is absolutely a favourite in my collection 👍🏻!!
I had an Armida A1 45mm, about the same size as that watch. I usually do wear larger watches but I finally decided that this one went just a little bit past my limit and I sold it.
Have you seen the aliexpress clones of the spinnaker Bradner? I bought one to compare side by side but it isn't here yet. Wondering if Spinnaker uses the same factory that the AE brand is using.
I have an Avi-8 Hawker Hunter that’s comes with a charcoal ember brown leather band but I’d really like to put a black metal band on it. Do you have anything you could recommend? Thanks!
I'm really surprise to find myself typing this, but there are some circumstances where I'd wear that crazy watch! certainly not any situation where I wearing long sleeves, but I would wear it! I'm taking a temporary break from my watch buying addiction at the moment due to investing ALL my spare money into my own business, and when I get back to throwing that money at watches the one of these that I would have probably had as my first choice will have long sold out I'm sure....Meteorite dial limited to 50 pieces?? Under $1000 (at the time of me writing this comment).....Can't see those 50 lasting long at all, they'll be sold out in no time, even if it is a very bizarre design that will have a limited audience!
I have two Invicta Hydromax GMT Watches they are 52mm by 19mm thick and each weighs 336g or 11.9 oz. I wear both while doing PT for building endurance, strength, and speed. They truly could be used for self-defense if nothing better was available. I'm retired military (first US Army SF and then Marines).
I have a Spinnaker Dumas (bought from you, Marc 😁) and that weighs in at just over 200g, my heaviest watch. Nice to have it on the rotation, but probably my limit. This thing at 250g is a total unit, plus at 21mm width would be tough to forget it's on. Nice 1960s Rolex homage, but fpr somebodt else.
Hi Peter, love your honesty and really value your opinions on the watches you review. If I am selected for one of the giveaways then I would really appreciate receiving the 'Wise - FlyBoy' as I have a 9" wrist and struggle finding watches I like that fit!! Really pleased to feel part of your channels growth, keep up the great content and congratulations.
It's thick but I bought one in green and I like it. Although it would probably be about the third watch out of my collection to go if I were to get rid of some. It is HEAVY. But I like it. And I have a big ole wrist so it works on me I think.
Call me odd but this is rite up my alley to say that's it's unique is a massive understatement I still on occasion use my closed breathing system and train the younger generation to use rebreathers and that single lume pip is used to track hours for your extraction time at the designated pick up point out in the ocean I'll Definitely be adding one to my extensive dive watch collection Thanks for sharing as always my friend Be well and of course Wheels Up 👍
I gotta give you props (just like I do with my son). Try that new food, you might like it kid. ;) Don’t mind the bubble, they need to do something with that bezel though.
I love the near-sterile bezel. The dome makes the skeletonized version pretty cool. Overall I prefer heavy watches but this is a bit much for me. I can see their appeal though.
@@islandwatch Thank you for your replies. I realize the industry keeps raising prices, especially as 'micro brands' continue to grow. However, I cannot stomach the concept of a chinese company watch with an NH35 for over $150, or perhaps $200 for something 'unique', even if just a gimmick (like this watch). People pay the price, so my opinion is irrelevant, but it is why I have not purchased a watch in the last few years and will not purchase one. The world is upside down.
My wife, who's very picky about dive watch aesthetics, walked into the room just as the camera was looking at the black dial model head-on and said "oh, that's a nice design." Then you turned it sideways and she just kind of frowned and left the room. Maybe next time, Spinnaker. (we're both hoping they re-release the Fifty Phantoms this Halloween)
Woah, be carful which channels you watch when your wife is around. My wife was in the room when a so called expert said the words "One watch collection". I tried to play it cool but I could feel her eyes on me.
I was waiting for you to shake it and see snowflakes inside it. 😂
Thanks for sharing it but not for me. 🙏🏼
@@LS1007 Oh man, what an accurate observation! A snow globe for your wrist, of course! Ha!
great idea!
*_LOL_*
Spinnaker looked over at Invicta and said, “Hold My Beer!”
ha!!!!
More like “Hold my watch!!”
I had Invicta Hydromax on my wrist. It was like....omg😱
It looks more like a self-defense weapon than a watch.
that works!
Dual purpose and you can carry it anywhere. Cary a heavy-duty sock with it if you need more psi in your presentation.
I love mine. Yeah, it's crazy, but man do I smile every time I look at it! 👍

From the side it looks like a UFO 🛸
I thought the Picard name was reference to Star Trek since the crystal looks a bit like the hull of the bridge of the Enterprise.
@@alliejrI thought the exact same thing!
haha, thanks!

thanks so much! Appreciate the good thoughts, and I watch those 3 channels daily!
When I saw the profile of the domed crystal, I thought it was Mrs. Jolly green giant's engagement ring.
Cracking me up with that huge bottle of Sriracha! Now i know why you are a runner.
LOL
This is such a fun watch. It’s a real ‘I don’t take life to seriously’ and conversation starter watch.

The divers won't need any more extra weights to get them down to the sea floor but they might help getting back up
LOL, good point.

It's a love it or hate it design that's definitely not boring. I've owned the green version and I'm in the love it camp.
I like it… it’s not an everyday thing.
I regret missing out on the Destro model! I would’ve loved to have had one for the collection.

It's ridiculous.. RIDICULOUSLY COOOOOL!!!!!👍 Certainly not a formal watch, but fun for the summer. It's like that one Rolex deep sea diver in a way.
I have an Avi-8 Hawker Hunter that’s comes with a charcoal ember brown leather band but I’d really like to put a black metal band on it. Do you have anything you could recommend? Thanks!
When I first saw these I get into em, but after watching this vid,I kinda like it now.
I have one almost as thick as this, unfortunately it's not as water resistant as this one, but it's Citizen Regatta (Sailhawk)
I loved it!
I actually quite like these :)
cool, great to hear.
The Quarum Bubble comes to mind 😮.
I have seen the latest bubble at Geneva watch days. This Piccard looks nicer.

Lol. Not a Helbeg CH1 but this beats the case size. Woof. Thanks for the showcase. Ima check your other videos for wacky watches
Invicta has got you covered already, with the Hydromax. 😁 It's quartz tho, but comes in all kind of color variations, even a GMT version...

Reversed psyhology. Nice trick Mark! Now I want one 😅
A couple of my watch collecting friends bought this Spinker Pacard
Crystal looks like the headlight off of a '55 Chevy. Probably use it to start a fire in an emergency. What type aircraft are you flying Marc?
Call me crazy but I like the watch, I might add one to my collection.
I bought one from Spinnaker when they came out. Sent it back the next day.
guess you didn't like it!
Marc, to be honest, I don't think you like it either. Lol.
I bet you will sell all 50 tho!
I do like how they included the color around the date window into the rest of the surround.

Is that a JLC Atmos clock in the background?
Mark, do you plan on having a european warehouse someday? i really want a bracelet for my ny0040 but the taxes make the price almost double...
not currently
Anyone know if this will fit under a cuff easily?
Amazing watch and great price!!
thanks for checking it out
The meteor dial is a good feature on this one

It looks great on your wrist....
Marc! Bring back that salmon dial islander!
I love it. Also, I own multiple Invictas lol.
As an extra you can cook naan bread on it ! Great idea 👍🍸
Reminds of a Corum Bubble. Pretty cool imo
Yup.
My God, what a monstrously
As a diver, I think it is a great watch. Maybe not practical but a conversation starter for sure..
The dome is just crazy
I like a good sized watch. But, this is beyond what I like.
It's a unique looking watch. Not for everyone but stands out. Id sadly knock the glass too often to own

A crystal ball that tells time AND tells your future!
There will always be a limited market for oddball stuff. No exception here. I would probably only stock a couple at a time though. Best of luck😊.
Invicta done right!
I gotta give you props (just like I do with my son). Try that new food, you might like it kid. ;)
Don’t mind the bubble, they need to do something with that bezel though.
Very cool.
I saw you on Harry’s channel and noticed he has his business in the area I grew up. How would you describe a north/Lake Erie Ohio accent
I'd like to see an Islander that size 😉
The skeleton ones, that’s a nice!
That’s thicc! Rice and beans didn’t miss her! Baby got back!
At Top view, the black dial, bezel, indices,… are per perfect.
Kinda like me looking at myself in the mirror until turn in profile view.
My Casio DW5600 (filled with good old baby oil) has survived multiple dives. The deepest was tied to a ROV doing inspections at 1900 ish meters.
Hmm .. Mark’s wearing a San Martin on one wrist and an Islander on the other. Is he trying to give us a hint at something… 😮
I did a video on it.
I love the near-sterile bezel. The dome makes the skeletonized version pretty cool. Overall I prefer heavy watches but this is a bit much for me. I can see their appeal though.
thanks!
You could use that crystal to start a fire!! Good lord that thing is thick!
Nice watch but not quite enough water resistance for me. I work in an office and my colleagues often spill cups of water, coffee etc.
Only 500m WR, I was expecting a lot more what with the thickness of the case & crystal? I'll stick with my Sinn UX & it's 5000m WR thanks 👍🏻
I somehow really like the look of this. But I also know that it would not get a whole lot of wrist time for its size.
King of parallax
haha, indeed!!!!
not a big spinnaker fan, but I quite like this
thanks
Awesome watches
thanks!
The Piccard, huh? This thing looks like it's capable of warp drive!😂
I love it
I have the feeling that this is enough to qualify as "something different" for some collectors. (For others, it would just be "odd"). ;)
Spinnaker just can't seem to catch a break LOL
That’s what I call a bauble for a crystal!
Still much smaller than many Invictas! I think this watch sells well because Deep Divers are popular right now.
I like it. I would buy one if it was reasonably priced.
not horrible

I think Mark will release the Islander Flighty when he earns his wings.
the islander calabro gmt pruple dial u wear there is an absolute beauty, but the import taxes to Belgium will kill me unfortunantly :(

Congratulations on your Cross Country. Care to share your route? You will have your license soon.
thanks; frg, gon, bdr, frg
They are pretty cool. I just don’t have extra funds right now. Maybe in the future. Thank you
Should have nicknamed this thing the George Burns
For 2mm more you could buy a serious diver from H2O…the H2O Kalmar 2 Deep diver 25,000M water resistance
I like it , though I would have to be more careful wearing it to keep from hitting the crystal.
